"We enjoyed our stay. Check in was easy and quick. Front office staff were very helpful. Undercover parking was easy to navigate. Our room was spacious and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom looked newly renovated. One thing that confused us was the light switch for the living room and bathroom was by the entry door. So you had to walk to the front door to turn the light on and off then walk into the bathroom. Very inconvenient. Plus there was no exractor fan for the shower so it got very steamy in there. Mirror and shower screen all fogged up. Poor design. We had a great view of the ocean. The pool area and front entry are being renovated but that didn't not inconvenience us. When the pool is completed the view from the window will be beautiful"

"Karri Valley Resort offers a truly serene escape, set amidst the stunning natural beauty of Western Australia. This destination is undoubtedly one of the most relaxing places you can visit, with breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere that invites you to unwind. The accommodations, especially the lakefront rooms, are fantastic. They provide a perfect vantage point to soak in the picturesque scenery. However, there are areas that need attention, particularly regarding the cleaning service. On our two-day stay, the cleaners arrived quite late, and unfortunately, their work did not meet expectations. The bed wasn't properly made, the pillowcases were not changed, and the floors were not vacuumed, which was quite disappointing. This aspect highlights the need for improved management of the housekeeping team to ensure a consistently high standard of cleanliness. The resort's restaurant, however, is a highlight. It boasts a beautiful ambiance and a menu that delivers a perfect balance of flavors. The food was expertly prepared, but we did find the portion size of the duck leg ordered for our 12-year-old to be a bit small. While the presentation and taste were exceptional, a larger portion would enhance the overall dining experience. Another minor concern was the noise levels in the rooms. With some soundproofing measures, particularly on walls shared with other rooms, the overall comfort could be significantly improved. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful, contributing to the warm atmosphere of the resort. I would highly recommend visiting Karri Valley Resort for its heavenly lake views and relaxing environment. With a few adjustments, it has the potential to be an unparalleled getaway in WA."

"Very disappointed in description versus reality. No WiFi in rooms, paid extra for breakfasts, but found out they were for continental breakdasts which are complimentary anyway. Meals were not value for money. Very ho hum. No waiter service, it was scan Qr code for menu, order and payment. White ants on the kitchenette bar in our room. Conditioner on wall in shower had been used up and filled with water. Location was great."

"Arrived at Hotel and reception was closed. waited in the pub over the road until we were contacted. Construction work going on in hotel that did not disturb us but we were not aware the work was being carried out until after booking and payment was made. There was also a lack of facilities due to the upgrades but we did find other venues to eat and drink in town. Despite these minor issues we did enjoy our stay and loved the pool."

"Excellent venue for a short staycation. We loved the Swan River location with access to walk/ride paths and picnic spots. Great swimming pool with pagodas for shade. Good quality buffet breakfast offering all the usual items and some unexpected sweet treats and cafe bar. Our standard room was a generous size with king bed, bathroom well appointed, and all very clean with an added bonus of scuffs to wear and take home. Lunch and dinner menu was fairly extensive and we especially liked the garlic bread and pork belly bites. We will be back !"

"Gave a lower star as the shower head was leaking water and my partner’s hand got a lil ā€œburntā€ from the direct hot water as he didn’t expect the hot water to be coming out from the handle. The ceiling started leaking as well in the middle of the night due to a heavy storm. The water dripped at midnight into our luggages and wet our personal items. Lucky for us, our items were in ziplock and relatively easy to salvage… but imagine if they weren’t packed in ziplocks… Could’ve turned out a lot worse. Frequency for Airport drop offs are hourly as well so do plan around that."

Had some visible dust on the bedside lamp in the middle which triggered my daughter's allergy, didnt need to use her epipen because other meds worked so we cleaned the lights with wetwipes and was ok after a couple of hours. We got confined to our room until she was ok so didnt get to enjoy the other amenities. The toiletries in the bathroom were open and not refilled but doesnt matter cause we didnt even need it. Other than these, it could have been a great time. The room was large and good view.

We will definitely come back. Staff is accommodating and friendly. The King room is so spacious and beautifully designed. Probably the best hotel we have been to with this price range. Only downside is if you choose to arrange own parking the nearest CCP is not great & a bit of a walk.

The biggest plus was the airport shuttle service. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was included, which was simple but good value. The front desk offers 24-hour service. When I booked, it said Chinese-speaking staff were available, but I didn't see anyone of Chinese descent during my two check-ins and check-outs, so it seems I didn't get to experience the Chinese service. It might be best to contact the hotel in advance if you require Chinese-speaking assistance.

If you stay consecutively, you need to clean the room. You must go to the front desk to remind the hotel to clean the room and replenish the supplies in the room, otherwise the hotel will not clean the room for guests staying consecutively. However, the hotel environment is still good.

staff were really lovely and polite, they upgraded us to a deluxe room! its a 10min walk from the station and not fully sheltered. with a car its fine, just a little hard to find free parking. the bathroom was really bad for 4 star standards... the shower sprayed everywhere but me and the temperature fluctuated often. the bathtub was nice but the hot water wasnt really hot either, and theres no shower head. we only stayed 2 nights so it was not so bad for us.

I’ve stayed in fair few budget and mid-range hostels, and overall, Cable Beach Backpackers has a really good vibe. The Good Stuff: • Its a perfect Location. Literally walking distance to Cable Beach, restaurants, and bars. There’s also a bus stop right outside that heads into town every 20 minutes, which was a lifesaver. • The staff are so welcoming and easy to chat with. The little on-site bar has great prices, and the outdoor area is awesome—heaps of undercover seating and a brilliant hammock zone. The kitchen is also massive with plenty of room to cook and store your food. • Having good Wi-Fi was amazing, especially since mobile network coverage can be pretty patchy around the area. • I felt completely safe the entire time. I never worried about my personal safety or my belongings, which is always a huge relief when backpacking. The Not-So-Good Stuff (Just being honest): • I was in a 4-person dorm. It’s pretty basic (two bunks and a clothes rack) and felt super cramped once everyone brought their bags in. The biggest issue was airflow. The window wouldn’t open, so even with the ceiling fan and two portable fans blasting, it got really stuffy and stinky. The only way to get fresh air was leaving the main door wide open. While I felt safe enough to do this, it’s still not ideal for privacy or keeping the bugs out. Putting flyscreens on the doors could fix this! • I didn't see any lockers in the room for safely locking away small valuables. If they do have them and I just missed them, it would be great to have them highlighted at check-in, otherwise adding some would be a great upgrade. • There are noise restrictions after 10 PM, but people were still talking loudly, playing music and making noise late into the night every evening. Also, a lot of guests didn't clean up after themselves, so the shared tables and bathrooms were pretty messy a lot of the time. People also ignored the designated smoking areas. Overall, the location, Wi-Fi, and staff are top-notch, and it feels like a very safe spot to stay. I know you get what you pay for but it could still do with a little bit of a reno and better upkeep to stop the shared spaces from getting messy.

We had a wonderful stay at Oaks Perth Hotel, and the biggest highlight was definitely the location. It’s only about a 3-minute walk to Perth Underground Station, which connects directly to Perth Station, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city and travel to places like Fremantle and beyond. The hotel is also within walking distance of plenty of shopping, including Kmart, Woolworths, Sephora, and many other stores, so everything we needed was close by. As Muslim travellers, we also appreciated that there was a Malaysian restaurant serving halal food just a short walk away, along with several other halal dining options nearby. The room itself was comfortable, although it is a little dated. It was spacious enough for our family, and the largest room could comfortably accommodate up to six adults with one main bed and two sofa beds. The kids especially loved having their own little space in front of the TV. The pillows were very comfortable, and while our booking didn’t include housekeeping, it wasn’t an issue since we were only staying for a few days. My only suggestions for improvement would be to provide a sponge holder in the kitchenette and a little more dishwashing liquid, as only two small packets were provided. We also noticed that a few of the pots and some dishware still had stains on them, so a little more attention to the cleanliness of the kitchen utensils would make the stay even better. I didn’t manage to take many photos during our stay (just this one!), but I can say that the hotel’s listing photos are an accurate representation of the rooms. What you see is truly what you get, which we really appreciated. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The unbeatable location made getting around Perth so easy, and we’d definitely consider staying here again on our next visit.

This is my second time staying here. The room is spacious enough, very quiet, and the bedding is comfortable. The cleanliness, however, is just so-so; the bath towels had noticeable black stains. On the first day, I ate takeout at the dining table, and when I returned the next evening, I found the oil stains were still there. The cleaning staff is not very thorough. Parking is $50 a night. Overall, it's great value for money. It's a 5-minute walk to the city, and there's a newly opened Mr. King Beef Noodle nearby which is pretty good.

Karri Valley Resort offers a truly serene escape, set amidst the stunning natural beauty of Western Australia. This destination is undoubtedly one of the most relaxing places you can visit, with breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere that invites you to unwind. The accommodations, especially the lakefront rooms, are fantastic. They provide a perfect vantage point to soak in the picturesque scenery. On our two-day stay, the cleaners arrived quite late, and unfortunately, their work did not meet expectations. Although the hotel is a bit old, the facilities are very well-maintained, some even looking brand new. I read online that parking was $65, but that's actually just for the area in front of the hotel lobby. I asked a bellboy and found out there's a free parking lot not far behind the hotel, which was great! They also have a heated pool, but I was too tired to try it on my first day. The bed was incredibly comfortable! 😊
