We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and overall had a great experience. The room itself leans toward the darker side (I did edit some photos to brighten them up a bit), and the bathroom sink counter is a little low, which made it slightly less practical. There's a bathtub, though it would have been nice to have bath salts or foam provided to enhance the experience.
Our room had a small courtyard area with two chairs and a table. While it sounded great in theory, we didn’t end up using it—it felt a bit stuffy, and the frosted glass ceiling didn’t let in much light or provide a view, so it didn’t add much to the ambiance.
That said, the interior decor was a lovely blend of modern style and traditional Chinese elements, which gave the place a unique charm. The shower was excellent—strong water pressure and consistent temperature.
The hotel layout is a little unusual, with the check-in desk located on the 8th floor and our room on the 7th, but this didn’t cause any issues. One really thoughtful touch: each day next to water bottles we also received four new soda cans in the room.
Service was a highlight. The cleaning lady was extremely friendly and attentive, and the breakfast staff were also very kind and welcoming. Breakfast, served on the first floor, offered a wide variety of food options, which we appreciated.
A definite highlight was the rooftop bar. It offers an amazing view of the Forbidden City, and there’s even a sign that tells you the best time to catch the sunset—such a nice touch.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.

The staff were very helpful—even though they didn’t speak English fluently, they tried their best to assist with translation to ensure clear communication.
I arrived early in the morning and needed to leave my luggage first, but luckily, a room was available so I could check in right away without waiting until the afternoon. However, The room still needed a bit of time to be prepared, so I waited for around 30 minutes before heading out to explore.
Please note that some disposable items like cotton swabs or similar amenities are not provided in the room—you’ll need to request them directly from the staff.

Due to having a lot of luggage, the hotel generously upgraded our room to one with a private courtyard — a lovely surprise that made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was a wonderful blend of both Chinese and continental options served buffet-style, with something for every palate. On top of that, unlimited coffee, tea, soft drinks, and fresh fruits were available throughout the day in the lobby. It was truly an exceptional experience and incredible value for the price!

A great place to stay overall. Check-in was fuss-free. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was large and there were 2 pillows of varying hardness. The toilet and shower area was separate and toilet even had a bathtub. Water pressure was good and the hot water came on easily. Amenity kit including toothbrush, toothpaste and shaver was provided at check in. Staff generally made good effort to improve the stay - providing water bottles and a radiator in the room on request. There was some communication difficulty when it came to having parcels left at the concierge though that was eventually sorted out. The hotel had a well equipped gym, a good length heated swimming pool, a hot tub and a sauna, with the facilities available for use till 11pm. Location is convenient, with the nearest metro station less than 10 minutes away.

Hotel's location is so good. Easy access to Forbidden City. Super near yo 王府井. There are plenty of eateries and shops within 3 to 5 minutes walking distance. Very near to 金鱼胡同 metro, walk about 2 to 3 minutes only.
Another bonus is the most famous restaurant with Peking duck is just next door. Can go take a que number and come back hotel to rest and wait for your turn. The restaurant is forever long que. We waited 1.5 hours (in the hotel room), but the taste is worth the wait.
The size of the room is sufficient. There is laundry service on 5th floor.
You won't regret to stay here.

What a wonderful stay! The breakfast was next level, with so much variety of Chinese and continental options to choose from. Different Beijing specialties are offered each day so you can try all the local street foods here at breakfast! Staff is very helpful and attentive, eager to ensure guests are well taken care of. I would not hesitate to return again.

This was my first time staying at the Hyatt Beijing, as I usually stay at the Mandarin Oriental. Overall, it was a positive experience. While the service isn’t as refined as the Mandarin, you get what you pay for, right? That said, the reception staff and concierge were extremely helpful.
I would stay at this hotel again for its convenience—it's close to major attractions like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and within a reasonable journey to the Great Wall of China. The hotel also offers great amenities, including a shopping mall below, an impressive pool oasis that’s perfect for children, and a well-equipped gym. To top it off, the hotel restaurant serves an excellent Beijing duck.
We stayed at this hotel during a 15-hour layover in Beijing and overall had a good experience—we were able to rest well before our next flight. However, some aspects left mixed impressions.
**Pros:**
✔ Comfortable rooms – clean, quiet, with cozy beds, allowing us to get proper sleep.
✔ Excellent breakfast – a wide variety of fresh and tasty dishes.
**Cons:**
❌ Evening snack was included in the rate, but by 10:35 PM (with service until midnight), all the chafing dishes were empty, and the staff did not refill them. As a result, the only option left was broth with noodles—no rice or other choices.
❌ Airport shuttle made us wait 40 minutes, and no one answered our calls to the hotel, which added unnecessary stress after a long flight.
The hotel is suitable for a short stopover, but the service could be more attentive, especially regarding food and shuttle arrangements. Hopefully, the management will take these points into account.

The room was spacious and modern. The large hot tub was a great feature which allowed for a relaxing soak before bed. The view from the room was spectacular by day and by night. Views across Beijing extending as far as the mountains. The staff I encountered all spoke English to some degree. I would stay again. Walking distance to cafes and some sights.

This used to be Penta Hotel, now rebranded as new world tongpai. Located just behind New World Shopping Centre. If you are using the subway, please use Exit C or Exit H. Can also enter into M Cube Shopping Mall on LG floor and exit from Tim Coffee/Tours Bakery (ground floor) if u r using metro. The hotel entrance is just accross the road. Hotel lobby is modern. Room wise is ok and quite nice. Bathroom is slightly dated, and there's some mould between tiles gap. Otherwise, everything else in the room works fine. Their buffet breakfast is good for a 4 star hotel. Overall, if u want a hotel near the subway and surrounded by malls, this hotel is a good choice

JJulia CLWe got confused after we checked in and noticed that there wasn't a door into the bathroom. Called the housekeeping, and they informed that the door was removed because it was spoilt. I think its rather irresponsible to not inform beforehand. The room was changed after complaining. The new room, not sure if it's because it's winter, it's like a sauna in the room! Even the corridor is cooler than the room! There is nothing we can do to adjust the temperature and with the direct sunlight shining in, it just makes it worse.
During checking in, I enquired about some day tours but the front office staff couldn't give much information. Generally, the staff are not very enthusiastic and friendly.
The plus point is the location. It is about 5 mins walk from Xidan metro station. Lots of food and shopping around the hotel.

DDr. Julio BernalWe love this hotel for the location and the size of the room. The place is very luxurious but one thing that can be improved is the temperature for the rooms. They over used the heater and we had to ask to lower it. It still felt too warm. We asked them to open the room window but still it was too hot. The breakfast was very good with some room for improvement. The buffet looked cramped in an area of the restaurant. The location of some of the items wasn’t the most strategically. For instance, to grab some fruit you have to be practically on top of other items of the salad bar. People could literally breath on top of the food. Overall this hotel is great but it needs a major upgrade in the rooms and the wet area of the gym/pool. The showers there need some work. The steam room wasn’t working. Only the dry sauna worked. It need better cleaning as well

PPamela Chen YiHighly recommended! We booked 3 rooms and were put into a forest house villa. The villa is huge, clean, and the heater/air-conditioning working perfectly. There was even floor heating in the living room.
We booked dinner on the first night at their in-house restaurant and it was perfect. They took their initiative to make a bowl of noodles for my sons birthday (Chinese tradition).
They have an in-house shuttle that would take you to shi guan great wall (5mins drive) but it requires you to wait a bit. Alternatively it's a 15-20min walk to the hotel.
Perfect service from oliver and Eva (and everyone else in the hotel including the lovely drivers). Highly recommended!
I think the only thing that will make the experience even more superb is if the private access to the great wall reopens, or if they could incorporate a architectural drive-around tour of the gorgeous villas there.

GGuest UserLezai is truly one of the best, if not the best, places I have ever stayed. Over the course of 12 nights, we were welcomed by the friendliest team, who made us feel like family. Their care and attention to detail were exceptional—from surprising us with a birthday cake to going above and beyond when we lost our phone in a DiDi car. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to recover it. When we fell sick for two days, the team took great care of us, ensuring we had everything we needed.
The room was spacious and perfect for our family of six, providing comfort and plenty of space. Located in the heart of a bustling Hutong, Lezai is a stunning four-courtyard hotel that truly captures the charm of traditional Beijing. They serve delicious breakfast and high tea, and we were delighted to experience their special dumpling-making event on New Year’s Eve. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and authentic stay!
AAnonymous UserCame here to play with ice and snow, but the ice park was closed, but the snow park was. Came here with children and the elderly, and booked a suite and standard room in the VIP building. The VIP building is newly renovated, the environment is very good, the lobby is large and grand, but there are relatively few guests, even on weekends. You have to drive to another building to eat and soak in the hot springs, which is a bit far to walk, and the snow park is closer to the dining place. It is worth praising that the staff of the snow park have a good attitude, a good experience, and everyone is very enthusiastic. It is worth complaining about the toilet in the snow park, which is a simple one, cold and unclean. There is only one, and you have to queue. It would be better if the snow park opened a few cafes with better environment. There is a small beverage shop with a very bad environment, which is very crowded. The elderly were sitting inside waiting for us to play with snow, but later they felt uncomfortable and went back to the hotel room. . . It is close to the city, and it takes more than an hour to drive there. . .

GGuest UserMy family and I have visited Beijing 5 times since 2011, and every time we've stayed at the Tangla. It has definitely lost some of its initial grandeur through the years, but is still a good value.
The rooms are clean and a little more spacious than a typical hotel room, with a desk area and a bathroom that includes a separate tub and shower. The hotel has 22 floors with 4 elevators that work very efficiently. It was rare when we needed to wait longer than a minute for the elevator to arrive.
The location is pretty good. Right across the street is a shopping mall with a supermarket, numerous restaurants on the 4th and 5th floors and some fast food on the first floors. On another side of the street is the Capital Museum, which is worth checking out for an afternoon if you have the time. A subway stop is a half-kilometer walk away, and that subway line runs directly to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Wangfujing, and numerous other attractions.
However, traffic at this intersection has made this location less desirable over time. The main intersection doesn't allow left turns, and street lights don't change for 2 or more minutes at a time during most of the day. As a result, when taking a taxi, your taxi might be mere blocks away but nevertheless 5 minutes to get to the hotel. The traffic can also make taking a taxi down Chang'an street very, very slow. The 6km taxi ride to the Forbidden City can easily take 30 or more minutes just between waiting for your car to arrive and the roundabout way he has to take to get there.
The hotel has a gym and pool. The pool is really nice and my son says the gym is too. There's a salon/massage place that we haven't used.
It used to have three restaurants but one of them has since closed. We did not use either of the existing restaurants due to the abundance of good restaurants across the street. There is a tea room that we would have taken advantage of during this last trip but it has been closed indefinitely as well. The hotel features 5-star award plaques from previous years but the most recent year with a plaque is from 2018.
Support from the front desk in English is minimal. They had one staff member with a limited knowledge of English but that's the extent of it. My wife speaks Chinese so this didn't present a burden for me, but it might for some other English speaking guests.
Overall, it's still a good hotel with a good location, and prices are very good. I can't say when I'll be back in Beijing again, but when I am chances are good I'll be back at the Tangla.
