Hotels With Bar in Southern Peninsula, Iceland

Overall, it's pretty good. What really sold me was the free shuttle to the airport in the morning. The hygiene was decent, and the room was spacious enough. The heating worked great in winter. The only downside was the showerhead; the water flow was just a trickle, which made showering a bit frustrating. For food, there's a convenient food hall and a FoodDeli (with a small supermarket) nearby. I'd actually recommend the slightly further food hall for better taste and more options. If you're prioritizing airport convenience, you might consider the Aurora Hotel. It's just a few hundred meters walk, super convenient. My friend booked there and could totally sleep in an extra half hour. I only found out when it was too late to change my reservation, which was a bummer.

Had an early flight the next morning with my child, so I decided to stay here the night before to avoid rushing. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews beforehand, but it actually exceeded my expectations! First off, the room was quite spacious, and the bed was very wide and clean. The shower water wasn't super hot, and the curtains let in some light, but everything else was great! 👍👍

Chose a Courtyard by Marriott next to the airport. The room was quite small, and the bathroom felt like an afterthought partition. Water would splash out during showers, so it wasn't a true wet/dry separation, but thankfully I only stayed one night and just needed a quick shower. I had to ask the front desk for toothpaste and a toothbrush, and they wouldn't bring it to the room; I had to go down and get it myself. There were no slippers provided.

This hotel is very clean, the room was large and the bed very comfortable. It is situated on a little harbour and we had a nice room with a harbour view. There is a restaurant attached and the food was excellent. My only issue is that it is about a 10 min drive from the airport and the taxi ride one way was 42 euros which translated to $136 Canadian dollars round trip, that was a bit of a sticker shock for a 10 min ride (20 min total).

Second time staying at Start Keflavik hostel because i had great experience there. It’s near to the airport by bus/car. Bonus / Kronan supermarket are within 30 minutes walk and along the way you get to snap some nice photos of the surroundings. Staff were very friendly and helpful and i had a good chat with the Chinese lady. Very spacious, cosy and clean amenities especially the recreation room, lounge and dining hall. Guests are provided with coffee, tea and other beverages at anytime. A wonderful place highly recommended for all travellers!

Location close to the airport, good value for money. The room is big and there is no problem with hygiene. There is parking space. There is a restaurant/bar downstairs. Overall, it can be ordered again. 

Clean but very small room. Window was rusted and could not be fully closed. Would be nice to have a few more shelves/racks. Excellent early breakfast for early flights.

Very good hotel, excellent location, large public areas and very warm feeling. The room was the largest we stayed in Iceland and could easily spread out 2 boxes. Opposite is the lighthouse, the weather is clear, you can see the aurora directly from the window (sea view room can, the other side will have the light pollution of the airport). The hotel drives 10 kilometers to the airport and will pass a small town.

Extremely satisfied, especially the terrace hot spring water which was very warm, and you could even see the aurora borealis while looking up. A very cost-effective stay, thumbs up to the hotel, absolutely wonderful!
