"I liked the hotel. Delicious food, a great location right by the ocean with a fantastic view, and great cocktails at the pool bar. The staff was very polite and welcoming, and I'm especially grateful for that. The only thing that slightly spoiled my stay was the noisy dehumidifier in the room. It was loud and made it difficult to relax. The room itself was a bit tired, but clean. All amenities were changed promptly. I'd recommend upgrading the dehumidifiers to more modern and quiet ones, which would further improve the hotel experience. Otherwise, it's a great option for a beach vacation."

"The hotel is right next to Yala National Park, and the ecosystem is so good that staff escort guests when going out before 6 AM and after 6 PM. The bedding was absolutely perfect; the bed was just the right firmness, and the sheets and duvet covers smelled faintly of soap, making you want to just dive in. You could see crocodiles in the small lake by the pool, and monkeys and buffalo would occasionally stroll by. The feeling of being so close to a crocodile was truly breathtaking."

"We had a truly wonderful stay at Heritance Ahungalla, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, and the fresh juices served upon arrival were very refreshing after the journey. The room was spotlessly clean, tidy, spacious, and well equipped with all the luxury amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The atmosphere throughout the resort had a relaxing beachside vibe, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We also used the gym, which was properly equipped with a good range of equipment. The resort has two swimming pools, and we spent most of our time at the main pool, which was absolutely massive and perfect for relaxing. The highlight of the stay was definitely the food experience. The dinner buffet was exceptional with an incredible variety of dishes. There were large selections of salads, appetizers, breads and buns, Sri Lankan specialties, international cuisine, and live cooking stations. The seafood and meat variety was especially impressive — including chicken, beef, pork, cuttlefish, prawns, fish, and many other seafood dishes, with multiple preparations for each. My personal favorite was the pork leg, which was incredibly delicious, tender, and flavorful. The dessert corner was huge, offering plenty of choices and beautifully presented sweets. After a very comfortable night’s sleep, we went for breakfast, and honestly, it was just as impressive as dinner. The breakfast buffet included a massive spread with salad stations, bakery items, fresh fruits, Sri Lankan and international breakfast options, live stations, and an amazing juice bar with around 7–8 varieties of fresh juices. They also had a dedicated cheese section, multiple yogurt options, and even 4–5 types of porridges, which was something unique and very well done. Overall, Heritance Ahungalla offers a fantastic combination of luxury, comfort, delicious food, and relaxing coastal ambience. Everything from the service to the dining and facilities was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable beach getaway in Sri Lanka! 🌴✨"

"Anantara Resort Sri Lanka: Healing Paradise Hidden on the Indian Ocean Anantara is definitely the most amazing surprise on the trip to Sri Lanka, called ”holiday in the holiday” . From the moment you step into the resort, you will be completely wrapped here. The garden-style layout will perfectly blend nature and luxury. Every step is like walking into a postcard. The pool is connected to the blue of the Indian Ocean. Sitting on the beach in the sunset and watching the waves roll over, even time has become gentle. The rooms are impeccable. The door is open to the vast sea view. The bedding is so soft that people don't want to get up. The details are hidden. Even the aroma of the spare parts is reassuring. The dining options are rich and delicious, the Verala restaurant's cuisine is exquisite and authentic, the seafood in the Il Mare restaurant is fresh and colorful, and the room delivery we tried is warm and intimate. The most memorable is the hotel's teasing cooking class, followed by the chef to learn to do Sri Lankan cuisine, became a special memory point during the journey. The service here really translates to ”home away from home”. From welcoming staff to exclusive guest room hosts, everyone with a sincere smile will remember your preferences carefully, the beach lifeguard will take the initiative to hand over towels, and even staff members will climb up the coconut tree in the rain to send fresh king coconut. This intimate but not disturbing care makes the whole stay experience particularly comfortable. Even staying in the hotel all day will never be boring, perfect facilities can meet all needs, and the SPA healing project is a great choice to remove fatigue. When leaving, I am reluctant to leave, the scenery, food and warm people here have become the most precious memories of Sri Lanka, and will definitely come back again!"

"The room I was originally given was close to the street and was very noisy. Later, I was given a room close to the sea, and the beach was right outside the door🏖. Of course, I only stayed for two nights and left early. The room was large and nice, with sufficient air conditioning and a comfortable bed. The only problem was that the hot water was not hot enough for this generation of hotels. It was probably warm water. I hoped I wouldn't catch a cold after taking a shower. I was quite happy staying there."

The entire property feels like a meticulously maintained natural park, where the landscaping seamlessly blends with the surrounding lake. The scenery, with the water and sky mirroring each other, is incredibly therapeutic. Walking around the grounds, you’ll see egrets gracefully strolling on the lawns or flying low overhead, and various small animals everywhere. Even lizards, which are “standard Southeast Asian fare,” add to the ecological feel – it truly feels like living in a wildlife park. The hotel's outdoor pool is large and expansive, offering direct lake views, perfect for photos and relaxation. There’s also a dedicated boardwalk by the lake, ideal for cycling or a stroll in the evening, enjoying the lake breeze and watching the sunset – it's so comfortable you won’t want to leave. 🏊‍♂️ **[Facilities and Rooms: Basic but Solid, Bathroom a Huge Plus]** The room generally boasts Hilton's standard configuration – clean and spacious. The bathroom, in particular, is very large, making it comfortable to use. Given that it's an eco-park in Sri Lanka, occasionally you might find small mosquitoes near the toilet, which is normal for Southeast Asian hotels and perfectly acceptable. The hotel has two restaurants, offering both à la carte and buffet options. The food quality is decent, and they support Alipay and WeChat Pay, which is much more cost-effective than using local currency directly. 🍽️ **[Dining Experience: Lacking Highlights, Buffet Rather Ordinary]** Due to an upset stomach, we didn’t try the buffet and ordered à la carte, which tasted pretty good. The breakfast buffet looked like it had many options and was quite crowded, but in reality, there weren't many choices that suited our taste. Also, because there are many Indian guests staying, both breakfast and dinner had dedicated Indian food sections. For tourists not used to strong flavors, this further limited the options. Compared to a five-star hotel's positioning, the breakfast as a whole was only average, which is a common issue with most hotels in Sri Lanka. 📍 **[Location and Travel: An Excellent Base for Safari]** The hotel is not far from Yala National Park's Safari area, making it very convenient whether you’re driving yourself or using a private car. We personally found that there’s no need to rush for an early morning safari; an afternoon departure offered a much better experience. We saw a leopard as soon as we entered the park and also spotted most of the iconic animals mentioned in guidebooks. There's no need to get up early and rush, and you can return to the hotel to relax right after – the pace was incredibly comfortable. Always prioritize using Alipay/WeChat for payments, as the exchange rate is much better than using local currency directly. Overall, this hotel is absolutely worth staying at, thanks to its stunning ecological environment and excellent location! If you're coming for the safari and natural scenery, this place will definitely be a highlight of your trip. The only minor regret is that the dining didn't quite match the overall quality."

"This is a very large family hotel. It has wonderful, spacious rooms with magnificent sea views. The hotel is right in the heart of all the action; you step out and stroll down the lovely Unawatuna street, lined with numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops. It has its own beach access, but it's rocky. If you walk a bit further down the beach, you'll find a fantastic entry into the sea."
