Close to the airport, very convenient for travel. Sanitary conditions are also good. Breakfast is OK. There are not many options, but the price is cheap and good, which is not bad. I will stay here again next time.
It isn’t just a hotel stay it’s a whole experience! Check in was at their fabulous 13th floor bar and includes a free drink. Gorgeous views I never wanted to leave. Room was just divine and incredibly cozy
After check-in, the front desk gave two in room dinner cash coupons, 25 US dollars. You can use the deduction directly. Convenient. There is a gallery downstairs. If you are interested in art, you can go for a stroll.
Wow!! This beautiful hotel totally exceeded our expectations! We were having some issues with a third-party booking agent and the desk clerk Derek did an outstanding job of helping us through the challenges. Every aspect of the hotel is first class! The decor is beautiful. The room was fantastic and they offer many nice touches like a wine reception, upscale toiletries and comfortable robes and the sheets were very soft. The hotel manager, Anna was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating. If you are looking for a hotel in the downtown Asheville area, you will love this hotel! We have stayed at many nice hotels over the years, and this hotel is definitely an A+.
We were happy overall with the accommodations. Check in was simple, the room was spacious and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The kitchen had all the necessities, there was a washer and dryer and they provided detergent. The bathrooms had a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Very nice to see/have.
I was a bit put off by the ants and spiders I killed in the room and the mouse droppings in the kitchen cabinets.
Again overall great weekend get away.
I’ve stay at this hotel before and it was much better than this visit. They were understaffed had no food service. I realize it was Christmas, but with better planning they could have done a much better job of providing quality service which I have come to expect from Hilton.
The did not have anyone to even empty the trash cans.
The front desk staff was relegated to dust mopping the floor. No coffee available for room consumption.
All in all not a fun experience!

Great
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a nice location and convenient to the interstate. The restaurant and bar isn’t very big. The staff is very friendly. The only complaint was some of the guests were noisy early in the morning.
YYUWENThe location is very good, walking distance from the Meadowmont to go, one side is the fast road on the side of the woods, there is a special walking/riding lane, followed by navigation and culvert crossing the road to a pond and lawn hillside, behind which is the office building to go. There are trails to the business center of Meadowmont, which is convenient for Harris Teeter supermarket, Quickley tea shop, pizza shop, etc. The room and service are normal.
GGuest UserMy husband and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ballast very much. It is located within walking distance of many things to do, see, and eat. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Our room was very clean and that was comforting.
The bathroom, while clean, has a few unique characteristics. The sink has very little room between the faucet and sink bottom. The commode is extremely low to the ground. We found it quite odd.
We would stay again requesting a water view room.

GGuest UserService was terrible. Check in was at 4:00 pm and we were still waiting to get into our room at 4:30 with multiple other people. They finally put us in a different room and the must have forgotten to change the other person’s room because someone else tried to get in our room with a card key! Thank god I had flipped the inside lock. This apparently happened to another person as well. Checking reviews later we learned this a chronic problem with this hotel. While sitting in the lobby waiting we witnessed multiple customers complaining to the front desk about various issues. Also there was a hidden charge of $20 per day to park. This needs to be fixed on your website as it says parking is free. We will never return to this hotel.

AAnonymous UserIt was not a bad place to stay, though we only ate three times for breakfast, 1 the last day which was free due to plane cancelation so they gave my daughter and I free breakfast but the other two times were 1 comp'd that a friend received for three people in which the other was paid for by a friend. Needless to say, I got charged $45 for one day of the breakfast which likely was because the waitress made us put our room #, though she said she understood our meals were comp'd. Sadly even after calling the hotel, speaking to one person who then sent me to the finance manager whom I left a message with but still hasn't called back in almost a week. Frustrating to say the least.
GGuest UserI have already reviewed it. The reason why I separated the two orders was because I was hesitant. Later, I booked it again without thinking too much. The room is really good, but the geographical environment is hard to describe.
