Nice hotel room with a nice view. Only downside was the parking space was quite small. Finding parking was difficult. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much.

Have stayed here before, though normally not at this time of year, so this may have shaped some of my experience - as I was trading during 2 of the days of my stay, I hoped to be able to eat at the hotel rather than go out; but this was only possible once, as restaurant was only open very limited times, and no alternative food in the hotel was mentioned.
Also, the room I was initially given seemed ”tired” but adequate; however, on the second evening, both toilet and sink backed up, so I could use neither (I had put only normal toilet roll into the toilet, and nothing but wash-water in the sink). I did report this the following morning, but it was worse still on my return that evening. The person then on the desk did move me to another room, which was fine. So I can say I had a mixed experience this time!

Stunning view from the third floor .
Dated hotel which is undergoing a 5 year renovation which is desperately in need of .
However can’t take away the view and the history .
Bar is superb and breakfast is one of the finest I have had in many years of travel .
If you want the Ritz this isn’t it but for a short stay in a wonderful throw back in time hotel this could be for you

The service is very good, not far from the station beach and supermarket. The breakfast in the hotel is normal, but the extra lunch and afternoon tea are worth the price. The sea view outside the hotel is beautiful. The room I lived in did not have drinking water and a hair dryer. Drinking water can be requested from the counter, but not a hair dryer.

The room was satisfactory— not too big, but certainly larger than those found in chain hotels. The location was lovely; however, the standard room we received had a view of the parking lot. Due to the wooden floors, we were able to hear other guests walking around quite easily. The sauna and steam facilities were enjoyable, but it would have been great to have a bit more menthol or some options to help eliminate the smell of sweat. Thank you for your attention to these details.

I Booked the 2 bed suite for 3 of us cousins for a get together. Absolutely beautiful. Everything was spotless, both bedrooms have en suites, tea, coffee sugar and milk provided. Downstairs in the pub/ restaurant, we had food and drinks which was lovely. We have already decided to rebook for October

Staffs were friendly, and services were good but the hotel is old and needs some repairs. However, the location is wonderful, and the hotel had arranged movies for kids, bingo night and a dance night show to entertain families, so we spent both evenings in the hotel. The movie and dance nights are free to attend, however, you have to pay for bingo. Overall, it was a reasonable place to visit with family. They had a full English breakfast, but I didn't enjoy it because I am Gluten-free.

Beautiful hotel to stay in right next to the beach just a short walk away Room was big and spacious with a view nice one although not a sea view the bathroom was just lush shower was lovely to use Only problem not knowing how to use the heating in the room The pool and hot tub was really quite and relaxing Breakfast service was fast and fresh Lovely experience all round

The hotel is very large, so I understand it can be challenging for the cleaning staff to maintain cleanliness everywhere. However, I noticed that the pictures online look a bit nicer (spotless) compared to the actual condition. Room 244 had an extra heater, which I really appreciated — it was the best part of the stay, as the room stayed warm and comfortable during the night. That said, there was some dust on the bedside table, and the toilet was not very clean. This was actually the first time I needed to clean the toilet seat myself in a hotel. I also noticed that some rooms seem much nicer and better maintained than others. The staff service was okay, and I found the breakfast very convenient — it saved me time before going out to visit places.

Just a leisurely ten-minute stroll from Whitby's beautiful beach, a truly welcoming and comfortable experience. Cosy room with delightful view. Overall, this hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Whitby. Its location, combined with genuinely warm hospitality and comfortable rooms, makes for a memorable stay.

A bit old fashioned but a wonderful located place. Not too expensive for the bedroom but the food, which could be better, more refine, was. We can't check the bill as there's no price on the menu. A shame.

Had a fab stay at Mansion house which is right across the esplanade . The beds are comfortable and toilet is clean and sparkly. Breakfast is well presented and full English breakfast is served elegantly. Will definitely stay again whenever I visit Scarborough
