Beach Hotels in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan

Overall speaking, this hotel is value for money if choosing to stay in Onna Village. The ocean view is spectacular. We enjoyed it so much especially on the last day of our trip. We eventually had the blue sky and white clouds. The room is very spacious with a nice balcony! That's most precious for our holiday. Since it was early Nov, the outdoor pool was closed. We used the indoor pool which comes with a outdoor jacuzzi. That's so lovely. Regrettably, the indoor pool was not available to use until after 9:00am in the morning, that was so inconvenient for hotel guests. We normally can't swim after having a nice breakfast. There is an airport limousine at the main entrance of the hotel, that is very convenient for us because the hotel is located on the hill slope. We did not drive. So, we chose to book the limousine bus at the hotel concierge to save us time and energy to walk downhill to take the city bus after we checked out. Although it cost 5000 yens for the BBQ dinner, the variety of food is good. So, we were quite happy with the money spent on it. The breakfast buffet also provided a good selection of food especially a good selection of cooked food with local veggies as ingredients. It was worth spending HK$140 for each of us.

Booked an ocean view room (queen double) in the main building it was awesome. slept with the door open every night listening to the ocean. Bed was very comfortable, nice big room. Breakfast was very comprehensive. Loved the ability to check out the public baths and pools across the various group hotels.  Conveniently located in the heat of American Village. Grab a coffee from Zhyvago and go for a walk along the foreshore in either direction. 

Traveling with three people, we were looking for a spacious hotel, so we booked a duplex twin room. It perfectly met our needs! The size of the room is unbeatable in Japan. However, apart from the space, the hotel is quite old. The room decor is dated, and the fabric sofa had quite a few stains. The most significant issue was that the curtains in the duplex room didn't cover the windows completely, so the room was flooded with sunlight early in the morning! Other services were typical for Japanese hotels, with fresh towels provided daily. If you book in advance, the value for money is still pretty good!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, especially because of the spa facilities. The spa includes a sauna, a pool, an onsen, a cold bath, showers, and everything is very clean and well-maintained. A special mention goes to the fact that the spa is tattoo-friendly for both men and women. I have three medium-sized tattoos on my arms and saw other women who were even more tattooed than me — it was never an issue. I double-checked at the front desk, and they confirmed that tattoos are accepted. I'm highlighting this because I saw some other reviews saying the spa wasn't tattoo-friendly, but that was not my experience at all. The only downside I found is that the rooms are a bit noisy — you can easily hear what's going on in the hallways throughout the day, which is unfortunate. Also, the hotel is not exactly close to the city center; it's about a 15–20 minute walk. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the spa! Oh, and the bathrooms are nice haha!

I took bus 143 from Naha Bus Terminal to the American Village (it was the last stop for this bus, not sure where the actual last stop is) and walked for about 10 minutes to reach the hotel. Since it was before check-in time, I waited in the lobby, where complimentary drinks and cookies were available. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and helped us store our luggage first; the service was excellent. After checking in, we were given an upgraded room, much larger than what we had booked, which was fantastic! American Village at night is beautiful and definitely worth staying for a night.

The location was fantastic with a gorgeous sea view! Free parking, spacious room with amenities duly provided (except they didn’t provide any bottled water which kinda upset me a lot!!), breakfast was of quality - really loved the breakfast, convenience store downstairs (though it was severely wiped out and not well stocked everyday). It’s a good location to explore up north (aquarium and the likes). Highly recommend

Excellent value! It's super convenient to get around, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, and a taxi ride from Naha city center isn't far at all. Getting to the airport only takes about 10-15 minutes by car. The ocean view private onsen room offered an absolutely stunning view! The hot spring water was great too, with a subtle sulfur smell. I also tried the public large bath once, which was also excellent, featuring standing baths, a sauna, and a salt room. While the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it had a lot of authentic Okinawan specialties. We also had a birthday dinner there, choosing both the Wagyu sukiyaki and Wagyu yakiniku sets, and both were incredibly delicious. They even surprised me with a birthday cake! The room was also spacious. All in all, I was extremely satisfied.

The worst hotel I ever stayed.  Didn’t value customer.  They can decide to change breakfast arrangement without informing customer in advance, and also deny that they had committed to providing buffet breakfast when buffet breakfast was stated at the website. When we did the booking, it did mentioned is buffet breakfast, and the booking fees we paid as compared to without buffet breakfast is with the difference of JPY3000 per person.  However, when we checked-in, we are told the buffet breakfast has been catered by the restaurant for student group. Other hotel guests (including us) are then only provided ‘packaged box breakfast’ which is equiv. JPY500. This is a huge difference compared to the JPY3000 that we paid in addition for buffet breakfast.They denied promising on the buffet breakfast. It is inconvenienced for food/dinner as although there is restaurant opposite the hotel, the restaurant will charge you JPY550 per person for table fee. We end up to drive 10 minutes further for breakfast and dinner.  There are plenty of cheap restaurant over there.  The following are the replied form hotel on our feedback: Convey check-in instructions Please note that your booking includes breakfast, but it is not guaranteed to be a buffet. Breakfast is typically served buffet-style at the restaurant Ilikai, featuring Okinawan, Japanese, and Western dishes made with island vegetables, along with desserts. We kindly ask for your understanding that the buffet may be replaced with a Japanese- Western set menu based on reservation availability.

Stepping into the room was absolutely breathtaking; the view was stunning, with the white church right outside the window ⛪️. On the hotel's beach, during low tide, you could see little fish swimming and crabs scurrying in the glass-like water – it was adorable! For breakfast, you could choose between Japanese or Western style. The hotel has a shuttle service that runs regularly to and from the Hoshino Resorts Banyan Tree Iriomote, allowing guests to enjoy their 8 pools. Right next door to the hotel is the famous Hoshino Coffee, a must-try.

Fantastic hotel. None of us, especially the kids, wants to leave the hotel at check-out. They upgrade my room from level 6 to 9 premium club. It paid off to stay in an ocean facing room. The room is clean and well maintained. Although this is not a new hotel (where lifts require cardkey) the rooms locks are cardkey based. Bed is a bit hard for me, but were just as hard for the other hotels i stayed there :^_^:. The breakfast spread is wide and tasty. The restaurant can get crowded over weekend (but you can still managed to find a seat). The beach lagoon is shallow and water is super clean and calm. There are big malls/outlet, restaurants and super markets within 5~10 min drive. It's around 20min drive to popular attractions like Okinawa world, Gandala valley, Chinen Park, Peace memorials, etc. There is also free performance at 6pm on Fri/Sat evening, which IMO is better than those at theme parks. The hotel gives 10% coupon for outlet and Iias mall (remember to use). Note parking is still charged, at 550y per night, which seems to be standard for resort hotels in Okinawan (?)
