Beach Hotels in Johor, Malaysia

For the price paid, which includes breakfast, the room rate is fair. However, the cleanliness of the room needs significant improvement. I was fully aware that this is an old hotel with outdated facilities before making the booking, but even an old hotel should still maintain basic cleanliness standards. I found hair on the bedsheets and in the bathtub. Although there is a bathtub, there was no stopper, so soaking was not possible. That said, even with a stopper, we likely would not have used it as the tub appeared dirty and stained. The same issue applies to the basin, there was no stopper, and my small toothpaste nearly fell into the drain. As mentioned in other reviews, the hotel is very noisy at night, with loud music from the 6F nightclub continuing past 2am, even though we stayed on the 15F That said, the hotel staff were excellent, from the front desk to the porters and restaurant staff, everyone was genuinely helpful and polite. Within a 5 minute walk, there are many kopitiams offering great Malay food. Most patrons are locals, so English communication may be limited. Swimming pool at 7F with a small garden which is nice!

Da location was good n convenient ,n da collection key counter office girl are friendly ,but da unit we stay cleaning was terrible ,alot of ants n da rubbish bin also never clear , even da towels ppl using still hanging inside the toilet 😂 ,n da toilet basin also never clean cos da ppl stay inside toilet colour their hair da paper n colour split unit da whole basin still there when we check in 😅😅

I only stayed for a few hours, no overnight stay, and left the same day. However, due to the check-in policy, I needed to book for two days. The apartment's decor matched the pictures, and the sea view was nice. But I didn't have time to go to the beach. The location was convenient. There were shopping malls and street shops nearby. There were restaurants opposite the sales center. The instructions for getting the keys were very detailed; I was able to get them by following the instructions.

It was easy and straightforward instructions was given out on how to check in and out. The cleanliness was considerably clean in the unit although it was a little dusty on the floor which I guess they could come in from the bottom gap of the main door. The homestay has every amenities we could want. Aeon supermarket, pharmacy and restaurants are just a stone's throw from the homestay itself, very convenient for us to get around. The homestay security level is pretty good to protect residents, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure a safe living environment. We get to see the security guards patrol all areas, with alertness and safety measures. This makes us feel safer during our stay. I will give 9/10 for our stay, minus 1 pt was because of the small wear and tear such as a chipped plate, broken lock slide door at the balcony and peeling off wallpaper. 8/10 to the condo amenities, minus 2 pt was because the children’s pool was found toilet paper soaking inside the pool and cigarette butt washing up at the swimming pool staircase. I find them disgusting, unhygienic and uncomfortable to let my little on to play in it. Overall, we had a pleasant and cosy homestay there and we will come back again.

I booked a standard king room for a 3 night stay. Upon arrival to the room, I noticed the floor was wet as though it had just been mopped. To my surprise, I was given 2 queen beds instead and used towels found in the cupboard.There was a stain on bedsheet. I had to place another bath mat to avoid the trip and fall due to the first mat suction being not strong enough. During the stay we were provided with a shower gel and no shampoo. The washing machine does not come with a dryer and you need to search for the detergent which was placed under the kitchen sink. A garment steamer and vacuum cleaner were provided in the room, very convenient .The utensils, pots and pans were displayed on the kitchen table top, it looked cluttered. I suggest that it should be placed in the cabinet provided when not in use. Overall the cleanliness is good. There's room for improvement. Thank you.

To be honest, it felt pretty average, but it was very cheap and close to the Woodlands checkpoint. However, locals told me this area isn't very safe, though there's a security guard downstairs, so outsiders can't get in. The 'hotel' is actually an apartment, and you have to pick up the keys yourself from a designated location – it's fully self-service. There's a durian stall nearby that's cheap and tasty. The hairdryer didn't work well; it couldn't plug into the socket. The hygiene was mediocre; the bedding felt damp and was very wrinkled, almost like it had been used by someone else, sprayed with water, smoothed out, and then given to the next guest. The overall cleanliness was really subpar.

I just love this hotel, even though it's a bit old. It really needs to keep up with other hotels out there. I have a few suggestions, not just for DTBSR but for all hotels to consider, especially beachfront ones. Guests will definitely be swimming and going to the beach, right? So, I suggest providing a clothing rack in the corridor. It would make it easy to dry clothes and prevent guests from hanging them over the railings, which can be an eyesore. Also, adding hooks for towels would be great. For TVs, other hotels are already using smart TVs where guests can watch Netflix. I hope you'll consider this. Otherwise, this hotel is just nice. The hotel is old but well taken care. The check in and check out process needs to be improved, took too long. The breakfast charge is over priced. I paid Rm50.88 per meal for my 7 year old kid. And the breakfast varieties are very normal, very limited choices. The environment to eat is also very messy, people queue up for 10-15mins just to get the omelettes. Probably due to long holidays, it’s hard to find a table to sit down and eat. Shortage of workers to clean the table and to clean the room too. Our room only managed to be clean at 5pm. The room is clean, the staff are friendly to help. We enjoy the beach and the pool, the pool is very friendly for kids. The hotel also provides many other activities.

The apartment was serviced by Lions Bay, the office is near to the apartment. Instructions given to collect key was easy to follow and clear, packing near the office not as easy due to many cars parked along the side walk. The view was awesome. Very home feel. Tv set came with Netflix, great entertainment for the kids!

I book a two bedroom apartment for this trip and find that there are a few amenities inside such as a pool that is just within five minutes walking distance from my apartment, but for other destination, it will be good to have a car to travel. They do include free breakfast buffet which is decent. And there a few dining options around. Young kids who like to play with water with love this place. I feel that this is just a place for you to distress and relax. If you don’t drive you can arrange with the receptionist for a car to drive you back to City Square area. They do have a buggy for you to take around the resort if you need.
