## Review
**Ambiance:** I'd say it was just okay, a traditional five-star hotel setup, pretty standard. But I'm not sure if it's because of the humidity in the south, but there was an indescribable smell when I entered the room.
**Cleanliness:** The room itself was decent. However, some of the cutlery in the restaurant was a bit dirty. You can see it in the picture if you zoom in – there were hard white spots on the knife.
**Service:** The cleaning staff in the guest rooms were very friendly and responsive to requests. However, the front desk service on the 40th floor was just mediocre. I've stayed in many five-diamond hotels of major brands in various cities, and in other cities, the staff always made me feel right at home. But in Fuzhou, they were quite indifferent. The only contact was a perfunctory follow-up call after checking out. I think you could learn from practices in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, as well as Guangdong. They often have dedicated butlers, and both the front desk and butlers actively contact guests, checking in and showing genuine care. Especially in Guangzhou, the service is so good it almost makes you feel embarrassed!
**Food:** The breakfast offered mostly local specialties. I'm someone who isn't usually picky, but I found many dishes unappetizing, and the variety wasn't great. I suppose it's understandable if they're trying to cut costs.
**Overall, I didn't have a good experience!**

I stayed at the Lakeside Hotel by Fuzhou's West Lake, and the environment was truly serene and pleasant. The service was attentive and thoughtful, making me feel right at home. The breakfast was a particular highlight – an impressive array of choices, with both authentic Fujianese snacks and Western dishes done exceptionally well. The fish balls were tender and flavorful, the taro paste was smooth and comforting, and the freshly cooked guobianhu (a local specialty) was piping hot, starting the day off perfectly. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience that I'd highly recommend.

This was my first time visiting Fuzhou, and since I was traveling with family during the Chinese New Year, I booked three rooms for three nights. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Wuyi Square, so you can walk over to watch the flag-raising ceremony, or even just enjoy the view from your room if you don't feel like going out! It's about a kilometer's walk from the hotel to Sanfang Qixiang, where you can really delve into the residences of famous figures from Fuzhou's modern history. On the morning of the first day of Chinese New Year, the hotel even organized a grand worship ceremony and a lion dance performance, which was a great experience for guests. My only suggestion would be: could the laundry facilities be made free of charge? It's a small expense that shouldn't really be charged for. I imagine there are very few hotels left in China that still charge for washing machines and dryers.

The InterContinental quality is consistently excellent. The room was spacious, and the 2-meter king-size bed was incredibly comfortable. I loved the Byredo toiletries – they smell amazing! The hotel offers fantastic views of the river, the Ferris wheel, and Jinjiang Bridge, which are stunning both day and night. Plus, there's a shopping mall downstairs, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. Since I was with my younger brother, the hotel provided a complimentary breakfast, which had a great variety of options. Overall, I had a wonderful experience, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Quanzhou.

The Intercontinental Hotel in Fuzhou has an overall business-oriented style, with a rather conservative and conventional decor. The front desk service isn't very proactive; no one greets you unless you speak first, which is a bit lacking for a five-star hotel. The room is very quiet, which is a big plus. It's also convenient to get essential toiletries replenished quickly. Breakfast is quite ample, but there's nothing particularly outstanding. For an older hotel to still stand strong, it definitely has some substance.

The environment here is quite beautiful, and I heard it's the best hotel in the area. It's clean, and the service is warm and attentive. The facilities are new, and the front desk staff, seeing we had a lot of luggage, kindly upgraded us to a larger room for free, which was really thoughtful – a big thank you! Also, the bedding in this hotel is super comfortable, just the right firmness. Breakfast is plentiful and tastes great too! There's even a helipad on the hotel's rooftop that guests can visit for photos, though it's only open for one hour each in the morning, afternoon, and evening. You can catch the sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening, but unfortunately, the timing didn't work out for our visit, so it wasn't open. All in all, this is a really great hotel!

This hotel really shines because of its service. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, always greeting you with a smile. The room itself was pretty standard, though the bathroom ventilation wasn't great and there was a lingering smell. On the plus side, the complimentary tea and snacks were of high quality – they really didn't skimp there. I felt very safe with their access control system. The downside is the soundproofing isn't very good, and honestly, the room rate feels a bit overpriced, making it not quite worth it. However, the cookies and nuts in the lobby are absolutely delicious, especially the cranberry cookies – that's definitely a bonus! It's also in a quiet location despite being in a bustling area.
The hotel's location is excellent, perfect for lakeside strolls, and there are several coffee shops along the shore. The dining options are superb; we couldn't get a table at the restaurant on New Year's Eve, but found a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant right next door. The hotel room facilities are outdated and definitely need an upgrade.

The environment is quite enchanting. Our room was on the outer perimeter, but unfortunately, there's a villa being built next door. It didn't affect us since we were out most of the day, but if you plan on relaxing in the room, it can get a bit noisy (though earplugs are provided in the room).
This hotel is great for those who enjoy morning runs or walks. You can use your room key to access the Chongyang Stream scenic trail by the river, offering beautiful mountain views. The hotel's breakfast buffet is really good, with a decent variety. You absolutely *must* try the lard noodles and Zixi noodles, loaded with toppings – they're super delicious! In the room, having two sinks is very convenient for two people, but a small detail to note: the inner rim of the washbasin area should be cleaned regularly to prevent mold. There's also a good selection of pillows to choose from, so you can find one that suits you. The hotel also offers some nice free experiences, like various handicraft workshops. We didn't try the travel photography though.

__WeChat277562****Xiamen's #1 – a must-try! The staff are all very young, incredibly professional, and meticulous; you can tell the team management is well thought out. The breakfast is exceptionally exquisite, from the tableware to the food, it's very Michelin-esque. The room decor is also excellent, and they provide a full range of children's amenities, even giving multiple sets. They cater to any service request, which is incredibly accommodating. Butlers Molly and Asher were very thoughtful and attentive. This really redefined my top hotel experience in China! The entire hotel has a very elegant Chinese style. My child kept asking for the hotel's bathrobe, haha. The bedding is also mulberry silk and goose down. Actually, the king-size room can fit four people; both sofas were very comfortable for my husband and kids, hahahaha.
GGuest UserOur Chinese New Year family trip to Shangri-La Xiamen was absolutely fantastic! Our sea-view room faced the beach directly, so we fell asleep to the sound of waves and woke up to a breathtaking sunrise – it was incredibly therapeutic. The hotel had an amazing array of Chinese New Year activities: writing 'fu' characters, 'lo hei' (tossing yusheng), a parent-child beach foraging experience, and even a shuttle bus to the fireworks show! The kids' club was decorated festively for the New Year, and the staff kept the children entertained with games and lantern riddles. We even received a complimentary Chinese New Year fruit platter in our room. The shuttle to the Botanical Garden ran on the hour, making it super easy to visit all the popular spots. This Chinese New Year was so fulfilling and heartwarming!

AAqixiuxiu(jujueyingxiaohaoguanzhu)I compared many hotels, including several similar ones in Sanfang Qixiang, and ultimately chose 'Shuxiang Wenru'. First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's just a few dozen meters from the entrance of Wenrufang on Tonghu Road. The hotel's main gate is truly grand and antique. Though, climbing over the high threshold was a bit of a challenge! In the lobby, you're greeted by elegant and impressive water features and a long row of bookshelves. I booked a king-size room on the third floor. Even though it's an old building, there's an elevator available. The furniture in the room has a distinct Han, Tang, and Ming dynasty style, which I absolutely loved! The toilet, shower, and vanity areas are completely separate. The bed was very comfortable, neither too soft nor too firm. I was especially pleased that the hotel was incredibly quiet at night. It's definitely a peaceful retreat in a bustling area. The breakfast offered a good taste of Fuzhou cuisine; while the variety wasn't extensive, it was refined and just right. The only thing I didn't quite like was the thin, crinkly duvet. Even though the heating was on at night, the duvet felt a bit like sleeping under advertising paper.
XXiaodaodaoI originally wanted to book the Mindu ME Hotel, but I booked too late and it was sold out! It must be a popular spot. Fuzhou's old-established hotels like Shangri-La are a bit too old for my taste, so I settled for this one. It's not too dated and quite nice. The service was excellent too. When I checked out, they even gave me a souvenir and a fridge magnet, which was a really thoughtful and attentive touch. The hotel's location is a bit far from Sanfang Qixiang, but it's still walkable; we even walked back one night.
JjcisimpossibleThe location is a bit of a distance from the pier; it was about a fifteen-minute walk, especially with luggage. The staff member who assisted me was very helpful, even carrying my luggage upstairs to the second floor.
The entire courtyard is exceptionally well-designed and stylish, with many beautiful nooks and crannies where I took a lot of photos.
The only letdown was that at night, the duvet inexplicably had quite a few bugs. I initially squashed a few, thinking I could just put up with it, but then discovered even more crawling – it was truly a nightmare. I had no option but to call the staff in the middle of the night to come replace the duvet insert, cover, and sheets. I felt terrible for putting them through that.
GGuest UserLin's Hotel is the most comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. Although other rooms are being renovated temporarily, from the first step of consulting the hotel and adding WeChat, they patiently introduced to me the matters that I should pay attention to when I came to Gulangyu. During this period, I had to cancel the room for one night because of booking a flight ticket, and they also helped me solve it very patiently. They also helped me get my luggage at Sanqiutian Wharf and added a bed for me in the room. What surprised me was that the young man in the hotel not only provided patient explanations with a smile every time, but also clearly remembered the situation of each old customer's stay in the hotel. When you get up, he will ask you if you need any help. Before you finish your meal, he will ask if you are satisfied and whether he can provide noodles for us northerners for breakfast tomorrow. This is a thoughtful service that I have not experienced in many hotels, especially the kind brother who squatted at the door and waited when we returned at night. He made us feel the unique sense of security that Gulangyu brings us. If any friends are coming to Gulangyu, I will first recommend Lin's Mansion
11386015****A day before our arrival, the housekeeper sent us a detailed message with all sorts of tips and information. They covered everything, even asking if we were traveling with children so they could prepare special toiletries and toys for them. The swimming pool had free water guns and kayaks, and the lobby offered free Hanfu for photo ops. When I arrived, I saw a lovely young lady waiting for us in the parking lot – it turned out to be Xiao Shi, who I had been communicating with. This seemingly delicate girl actually helped us with our luggage and guided us to our room, which was incredibly thoughtful. What's more, when my sister left her cosmetics in the room, Xiao Shi contacted me immediately and even delivered them to our door! Such a dedicated personal butler definitely deserves a bonus! Thank you, Xiao Shi!
GGuest UserThe room is very stylish, giving people a warm and comfortable feeling. The room is also equipped with a mini bar^_^ The bedding is also clean and tidy.
The hotel staff is warm and thoughtful, and the front desk check-in and check-out are also very fast. I would like to thank Xingxing for patiently explaining the island's attractions and recommended restaurants to me. Each one is very good. I strongly recommend this hotel, and I believe you will also enjoy a pleasant stay here.
MM227942****The hotel service is warm, clean and tidy, the cabin environment is very good, the privacy is strong, quiet, quiet, and the pool is very comfortable. The front desk staff of the hotel, Xiao Hu and Xiaojiang, had a very good service attitude. They warmly informed that there was a delivery vehicle the next day. The driver of the battery car in the hotel was also super enthusiastic. Call the front desk and pick it up immediately. I got more than one comfortable and pleasant stay experience, the elders and children are very satisfied, awesome!
GGuest UserVery nice hotel, by the sea, you can feel the sea breeze on the balcony~ The room is quite big, the hotel environment is very good, I stayed for more than a week, and I didn't want to leave. Meals can be delivered to the room, which is very considerate. The front desk, manager, and cleaning lady are all very good! The hotel is in a park, you can go for a walk, enjoy the sea breeze, and go for a morning run. There are also snack stands on weekends. It is also close to Zhangzhou Port and convenient to Xiamen. It is really comfortable to stay. I will come again next time!
