Stayed here for a quick business trip and it was a great choice. The location is the biggest plus—it's directly connected to JR Hamamatsu Station, so getting to my meetings was super easy, even with luggage.
The room was quiet, clean, and had a decent desk to get some work done. Being in the tallest building in the city, the view from my room was a great bonus to unwind after a long day. The Wi-Fi was fast and stable, which is a must for me.
The staff were efficient and professional, making check-in and check-out very smooth. If you’re coming to Hamamatsu for work, this is probably the most convenient place to stay.
I booked quite late, so only the lower-floor sea view rooms were available. Even though the hotel facilities are a bit old, it offers great value for money. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night was lovely.
The hotel provides WeChat-based Chinese customer service, which made communication very convenient.
The room was a Japanese-style room with a tatami mat. It was a bit firm, but it was a unique experience and quite nice.
On the ninth floor, there's a public bath and private onsens. You can book a time for the private onsen with the front desk in advance. Soaking in the bath while enjoying the sea view was fantastic. The front desk also provided yukata (bathrobes) for guests to choose from.
The only downside was that hairdryers were only available in the public bath and private onsens, which was a bit inconvenient.
For transfers to and from the high-speed train station, you can book a pick-up/drop-off time on [platform name, e.g., WeChat, Xiaohongshu]. Otherwise, trying to drag luggage up the mountain road is impossible. There aren't many restaurants near the hotel by the sea; you have to climb a 15-minute mountain road closer to the high-speed train station to find eateries. Convenience stores are also near the train station, requiring a 20-minute uphill walk. I recommend buying anything you need beforehand and then taking the shuttle back to the hotel.
The hotel itself is good, but it's quite a distance from Mount Fuji. It has hot springs and laundry facilities, which is convenient. Breakfast was also good. However, on the third night, the alarm went off around 2 AM. Everyone in the hotel rushed out, and the elevators and phones were shut down. We were so scared that we quickly found the emergency stairs and ran down. The hotel said it was an equipment issue and told us to go back to our rooms. We climbed 10 floors back, and then a little later, the alarm went off again. Soon after, they announced that everything was fine. We barely slept that entire night because of the commotion.
The environment here is absolutely amazing, and being able to soak in the hot springs was incredibly relaxing. Breakfast was decent too. However, there were some real pain points. First off, I knew the hotel was on a mountain and that there was a shuttle service. But I didn't realize the shuttle and pedestrians use the same road to go up, which felt quite dangerous. Secondly, the shuttle schedule was infrequent. The biggest issue was that due to a landslide, the later sections of the Izukyu Line were suspended. The hotel's car picked us up at Katase-Shirata, but they wouldn't drop us off there for the return journey. They clearly had a driver picking people up at Katase-Shirata, so why couldn't they just take us with them? Plus, the front desk wasn't clear about this when I asked. The hotel car could only shuttle us to Shimoda Station, which wasted our time. It was a complete rip-off!
This Dormy Inn hotel maintains its signature style. There are seven private onsen on the 4th floor, and a public bath on the top floor, making for a truly wonderful hot spring experience. Both dinner and breakfast are served buffet-style, with a good variety of food that is refilled promptly. In the evenings, there's complimentary ramen, and after a soak, free cold drinks. In the mornings, you can enjoy free Yakult. The service and staff attitude are also excellent. Getting to the hotel from Shuzenji Station is easy on bus C10, or if you have a lot of luggage, a taxi will cost under 1500 JPY. It's definitely worth staying for two days to relax and enjoy the hot springs.
A simple spacious room with 4 beds that accommodates our family of 4. The bathroom is rather compact but it's clean. Walking distance to Hamamatsu station with few malls nearby.
I had a very satisfying stay. It was a bit of a walk from the station, but the location had a calm atmosphere. There were many restaurants on the south side, so I had no trouble finding something to eat. There were plenty of free services, such as happy hour and late-night snacks, as shown in the photo. The staff were also very polite, coming to greet me in the elevator and outside the entrance.
There were no amenities in the room, so I had to take some from the amenity space near the front desk. There was a wide selection, which was perfect.
Well-equipped rooms and great location, but ruined by smoke odor and poor parking management.
Pros:
• Well-Equipped Rooms: The rooms themselves are nice and come with a full range of amenities. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided.
• Prime Location & Breakfast: Excellent location right by the station and malls. The breakfast was also delicious.
Cons:
• Heavy Smoke Odor: Despite the good room facilities, the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming in both rooms. We couldn't change rooms, resulting in a headache and a sore throat the next morning.
• Parking Issues: Very poor management. Even after paying the initial 600¥, there was no spot reserved when we returned, forcing us to pay an extra 1,200¥ elsewhere.
I initially thought it might be a bit old from the outside, but the interior was incredibly clean and well-maintained. The hot spring facilities were especially fantastic; I went in both morning and evening. My parents were also very pleased with the breakfast. While it's a bit difficult to get to without a car, there were hardly any foreign tourists, and the staff were very friendly, which made our stay very pleasant.
The souvenir shop on the second floor of the hotel also had a great selection of interesting items. Thanks to this hotel, our trip to Japan was truly enjoyable.

XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions.
The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families.
It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful.
When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹
In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

11340211****Comfort Hotel has always been one of my top choices when I travel. It offers great value for money, delicious breakfast, and excellent service. It's also very close to the station, and the dumplings and eel rice nearby are absolutely delicious.
CCw233Facilities: This hotel has an old-money charm, and you can really see its past luxury. Everything is very well-maintained, and the rooms are clean. There aren't many power outlets, but they thoughtfully provided power strips. The tatami mattress was very comfortable, and the cleaning staff did a thorough job every day. The view from the window was beautiful, and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves was a dream.
Service: The hotel offers a shuttle service to Atami JR Station, departing every half hour from in front of McDonald's. There are two vans per shuttle, clearly marked with the hotel's name in red, and managed by hotel staff. They drop off at both the old and new wings, which makes up for the slightly inconvenient location.
Environment: The hotel boasts three large hot springs, all with both indoor and outdoor baths. I tried them all, and each has its own unique character. My skin felt so smooth afterwards! The walkway on the 15th floor of the Ocean Wing (old building) offers panoramic ocean views, making it the perfect spot to watch the sunrise.
Dining: The buffet dinner was absolutely, incredibly amazing! Unlimited tuna belly! All-you-can-eat scallops and roe! Shrimp, sea bream, squid, salmon – there was so much I couldn't even try it all. The cooked dishes were also delicious, but my stomach just couldn't fit any more.
I saw some not-so-great reviews before checking in, but perhaps everyone has different preferences. We, however, highly recommend it!
GGuest UserI booked two single rooms on the ladies' floor this time, and the rooms were still very spacious and quiet. The ladies' floor also has a dedicated coin-operated self-service laundry room, and the rooms are equipped with hair straighteners, facial steamers, and even face masks and foot patches, all available for free. Overall, it's great value for money. The location is also excellent, less than a five-minute walk from Shizuoka Station.
AAnonymous UserHighly Recommended!!
Key Point: The hotel includes a one-day admission ticket, allowing access to three attractions within one day:
(Cactus Zoo, Izu Granpal Park, and the New York Lighting Museum Garden). We recommend checking in after visiting Mt. Omuro, enjoying a one-night stay with two meals at the onsen (hot spring), and then visiting the above attractions the next day! Perfect for families and couples!
We recommend driving or walking to the hotel from Mt. Omuro/the zoo.
Environment and Location: The hotel is located next to Mt. Omuro, about a 10-minute walk from the Mt. Omuro Ropeway; it also has a private entrance to the Cactus Zoo (accessible via a gate next to the hotel). The hotel features a terrace and platform with stunning surrounding views, perfect for taking photos, overlooking the sunrise, night views, and Mt. Omuro.
Rooms and Facilities: Spacious rooms with a semi-Western, semi-Japanese design.
Meals: The hotel offers a Japanese set breakfast and a kaiseki dinner.
LL. CelineBooked room with the onsen and it was a nice touch but it might cost a bit... nevertheless the service was good and they do have free shuttle. Just take note its just to the station. If you would like to visit Shuzenji temple, you gotta get down and walk the other direction. Breakfast has a wide variety. 👍🏻
P.s. try checking in earlier, cause when it gets dark, its might be difficult to find your way up the mountain as road is winding.

GGuest UserThe space of the sleeping area was good and enough to let me have comfortable rest and sleep. There was individual wardrobe and TV inside each cube. Kitchen area was a little small, with only microwave and hot water were available. Shower room and powder room area were looking like the one at a public bath. But the whole facility was clean.
With close walking distance to the shizuoka train station, it was easy to get amenities as convenience stores, restaurants, and supermarket was right there at the train station.
I would be staying there again given a chance to visit shizuoka in the future.
GGuest UserThis place is located at Izu-Ōkawa Station, which is a bit off the beaten path for a transport hub in the East Izu area. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which you can book in advance via email or phone. The front desk has a ********* lady who speaks Chinese and is very helpful, answering any questions you might have. The food is quite good, and there are two large outdoor private onsens where you can see stars on a clear night. However, if you want to see a lot of stars, you should head to Ōshima or a nearby island. The room size is standard; in Japanese-style rooms, staff will lay out futons as there are no beds. The tatami mats are very new and have that unique new tatami smell. The private onsen in the room is also nice for a soak. If you're interested, there's also a wild hot spring by the sea – just Google it. You'll find a Lawson convenience store a short walk along the coastline. Overall, apart from the slightly remote location, there aren't any major drawbacks.
