I stayed here for a business trip. The staff at the entrance were incredibly polite and left a great impression. The lady at the front desk was also very thorough during check-in. The room itself was spotless, from the amenities to the bed, sofa, desk, and even the view. While the building isn't brand new, you can really feel the thoughtful hospitality extended to guests. Plus, having direct access to Junction City shopping mall with a supermarket made souvenir shopping incredibly convenient. There were also plenty of affordable and high-quality foot massage places just a 5-minute walk away. I had a really comfortable stay during my business trip and would definitely use this hotel again for future business travel.

The Strand is a find, old hotel which, for the most part, has been tastefully refurbished. Some shortcomings: the staff appear very young, inexperienced and with poor English, resulting in the wrong response to requests - half an hour to get cornflakes for breakfast; the lighting in the suite was poor, with several lamps but few overhead lights, making it impossible to read in bed; the bathroom shower had little water pressure and was difficult to use; we couldn't use the bath as there was no plug; three telephones in the suite but two not working, so the only usable phone was in the toilet cubicle - not the best spot for conversation; requests to resolve the problem went unanswered. Checking out, the management showed no interest in listening to customer feedback. Someone needs to wake up and smell the coffee..

An Outstanding Stay at Park Royal – Comfort, Cuisine & Class
Just wow! Park Royal is perfectly located for travelers, right in the heart of downtown yet wonderfully peaceful throughout the day. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless—the check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and polite.
The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean, offering great comfort after a long day. The highlight of my stay was the fantastic Christmas buffet dinner, and I can confidently say that Park Royal offers one of the best breakfasts in town—delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented.
An added bonus was the reopening of the club within the same premises from 31st December. As a Park Royal guest, I was offered complimentary entry, which made the experience even more special.
With everything nearby, excellent hospitality, and a calm atmosphere, Park Royal truly stands out. I will definitely visit again to relive these wonderful memories.

Weve been upgrade to higher room, highly appreciate it. Since all corridors carpet, ABIT smelly. Elevator smell weird. We got compliments snack for dinner.
Old colonial building 98 years , so romantic lobby area. Good spot for photos.
Conveniently located near the airport, this is one of Myanmar's most luxurious hotels, situated right by the lake, which is lovely. The breakfast spread is generous, and the 'shaomai' (dumplings) are particularly delicious. They often host various events, and the lakeside bar has a great atmosphere.
Review: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon
The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon.
Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements.
Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era.
What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.
Everything was good👌👌👌😍💙…The only downside was that you might feel too lazy to go out or sightsee because the hotel room was very comfortable, and it was extremely hot outside😅 —- You could just stay in your room, enjoy the view, go for a swim, or have a spa day….
The breakfast buffet had a lot of options, and they even changed some of the dishes the next day. My favorite was the sauna—it was really good. I also loved the hot shower, as it didn’t turn cold even after being on for a long time😍
The massages were great, and the prices were reasonable…. The staff were very helpful and kind…. There were occasional power interruptions, but they only lasted a few seconds since the hotel’s backup power kicked in immediately…
+ Although it’s a bit far from the tourist spots, you can take a Grab—it’s affordable and the best option since it gets really hot during the day….
Other than an encounter from kitchen staff during breakfast, everything was fine. During breakfast, soup was cold and I saw no fire below the pot. I just had the cold Mont Hinn Garr and thought that I was late. After that, I went for a cup of tea and saw one kitchen staff near the pot, I told him that the soup was cold and no fire below the pot, he just gave me a blurred look and no reply at all. 😂😂 After that I went and looked, the pot was warm and there was fire again. At least, please train your staff to reply to customers if there is any feedback which may be right or wrong. In the end, Novotel is an international hotel chain and brand name trusted by customers and expectations are there.
Hotel Room are nice and clean, however the elevator smells like someone was smoking. I booked for 2 person, however, during breakfast, I was approached to be inform that my companion is not registered and not entitled for the breakfast, eventually, front desk settled the issue.
This is the only hotel I stay in when visiting Yangon, the staff are super friendly and the facilities are very well maintained. The spa is a must visit, the gym is small but more than enough for your needs, and the large pool is very clean. The breakfast buffet have many options, dimsum, local burmese dishes, and western dishes. They also have an out deck bar with a decent view. There is a mall right next door with more food options and a convenience store.

PPomPom0It was a great stay. Staffs are polite and helpful. A male receptionist and a woman Housekeeping attendant at 16th floor were particularly helpful during my stay. The Pool is beautiful and I was actually amazed that they built a very deep pool for a hotel (1.9 m). My feet barely touched the pool ground, but they did have the fitness trainer who watched out for the deep pool. The room is okay, but I feel like it’s a bit small. Don’t get me wrong, they already are among the widest rooms in Yangon, yet the room I got had very tight entrance. The bathroom is separated with toilet and shower and bathtub. TV is rather small, I expected to have a more updated smart TV in this kind of hotel.
The only thing I wasn’t satisfied was Breakfast. Yes, they did have variety of selections but the tastes were blend and honestly, I didn’t like their food menus.
Overall, it was pretty decent memory to stay at Melia.

KKSSKLocation of the property is opposite to Myanmar Plaza shopping mall. It would be great if the size gate of the property could open for guests to walk a shorter distance to the mall.
Service staffs were very friendly, especially Lenna who was very efficient during the check-out process and responded professionally to queries.
Breakfast at D’Cusine was average needs improvement. There is also a Japanese Restaurant and a Korean restaurant for dining within the property.
Swimming pool is excellent especially for family with kids.
Club at basement played good music. Take note of age group and dress code requirements.
Overall highly satisfied with the stay at this property.
