My stay at Pingyao Juhongyuan Mansion (Part 2) was truly memorable. The hotel’s cleanliness and hygiene were impeccable, creating a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout our visit. The private courtyard was beautifully maintained, adding to the charm of the property. One of the standout features was the hotel’s thoughtful arrangement of transportation services, including a dedicated car for pickups and drop-offs. The rooms were fully equipped with smart technology, ensuring a modern and convenient stay.

Love this place.its quiet yet very accessible by foot to most places. The ancient Datong city wall is just 5 mins walk away. Decent restaurants are about 7-10 mins walk away. Love the bathtub in our room for soaking especially after a long day out in the cold. Unique smart facilities which is warm enough during winter Service from staff is very hospitable as well Only thing I do wish is the towel to be slightly bigger,(about the size of face towel only) so bring your own towel or you could request for one more towel.

the hotel is only 20mins travel from the airport which is wonderful for my business trip because i need to go to my customer located nearby. the services and facilities are also better than other local hotel. it is my third time staying this hotel, will definitely choose the same hotel on my next trips.

We had an excellent stay at Elsewhere Hotel Inn North Street Branch. Location was very convenient : we could park the car nearby (at the north gate parking) and the hotel was nearby all main attractions (walking distance). The boutique hotel is nicely decorated, taking the best of the old building with modern twists, and the rooms are located around beautiful courtyards. The staff was very helpful (excellent restaurant recommendations and support to purchase the ticket to visit the old town). We had a great stay and can only recommend you passing by this small jewel in the heart of Pingyao!

This was an amazing hotel to stay in: comfortable and luxurious. The staff were extremely kind, friendly, and helpful, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. The hotel is well placed for the City Center attractions. I found it an ideal spot, and my stay was ideal. I was sorry to leave, to be honest. Brilliant hotel and stay, service.

They will provide free maps and detailed explanations, and will take the initiative to help solve problems The Grand Theater is a comprehensive performing arts venue that integrates northern banquet and dance performances, traditional repertoire performances, and famous snacks tasting, where you can experience the Shanxi merchant culture.

The stay experience on this trip was great! The front desk checked in quickly and the good impression was full. The room was warmly decorated, the bedding was soft, the hotel was in a good location, and there were many delicious foods and attractions around. The room facilities were also very smart. The smart toilet was a plus! There was a great atmosphere! And the front desk lady was super considerate and answered all the questions. The recommended food was also great!

This is a hotel located in Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. The location of the hotel is very good and you can find the location by following the navigation. The hotel has a large parking lot, a large supermarket and a large park nearby. There are also many places to eat nearby. The room has a large space and complete facilities. The service staff is very enthusiastic and someone will come to solve any problems quickly. The TV in the room is large and the pillows are very comfortable. It is a very good hotel!

They booked us a taxi for visiting the great Buddhas and they provided us with a breakfast picnic bag when we left too early in the morning. The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the old town. Quite handy. There is a free laundry room that we could use for our clothes. Much needed! The buffet breakfast was delightful and varied. Perfect stay!

The beds we comfortable, and the room was very well equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The hotel was very nicely decorated to match the atmosphere of the ancient city. I would like to especially give commendations to Ms 任红霞 and Mr 付强. Both of them provided exceptionally good service during our stay and made sure that all our questions and needs were fulfilled. They are exceptional staff of the hotel and I hope the hotel management rewards them for their hard work. Highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking for accommodation in Datong ancient city.

The hotel is located in the south of the ancient city, next to the Drum Tower. Bus stops for No. 36 and No. 61 are just outside the hotel. Shanhua Temple, Huayan Temple, Yongtai Gate (South Gate Tower) and other attractions are all within a 10-minute walk. Other attractions in the ancient city are also not far away. The rooms are well-equipped, clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast is available in both Chinese and Western styles, with a wide variety. The restaurant on the second floor offers Datong and Shanxi-style dishes for tasting. For those who come for sightseeing, it is a very suitable place to stay.

The hotel is quite new, featuring high-end, clean, and comfortable rooms with great beds. The staff was friendly and attentive, offering free water, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was enjoyable, although the international options were somewhat limited. Given that most guests were Chinese, this was understandable. The coffee was excellent, which was definitely a highlight. The hotel’s location just outside the city was convenient, especially since many attractions are located nearby. However, the only downside was that the hotel felt a bit too warm, maintaining a temperature around 25°C. This seemed to be a common concern among other guests as well. Overall, it was a pleasant stay in a comfortable setting.

The location is convenient. It is not far from Chunyang Palace, Shanhua Temple, Huayan Temple and Drum Tower on foot. The Bronze Museum is just outside the door. It is small but beautiful. I took my children to see it carefully. The children remembered four kinds of ritual vessels, Ding (cooking), Hu (water), You (wine), Gui (grain). Ding is an odd number and Gui is an even number. The emperor has nine Dings and eight Gui, the princes have seven Dings and six Gui, the literati have five Dings and four Gui, and the Yuan Dynasty scholars have three Dings (or one Ding) and two Gui. Breakfast buns, steamed buns, millet porridge is delicious Take a bath with an electric water heater for 20 minutes, then wait 20 minutes before using it. It's OK if you're not in a hurry.

A very amazing courtyard house, the scenery of the small courtyard is refreshing, get up early and sit by the water and eat a super high-value breakfast, start the day's itinerary full of vitality, sit in the tea room and drink tea with friends after returning at night, and enjoy the boss's collection by the way, full of harvest. Next time I have a chance to go to Datong, I must go to Pingyun Courtyard again 👍

Wenda and all of her colleagues were wonderful! English is spoken here. Fantastic service, friendly, helpful, very clean and spacious rooms, really nice view over the river and at night with all of the lights. Breakfast is good, the facilities are clean and presentable. The room was quiet and the window can be opened if you want fresh air or to cool down the room a bit, the ac works too to cool it down in winter but that’s recirculated air with some people smoking in non-smoking rooms (typical). Our room did not smell which was great and although we had neighbours we could not hear them, so good for light sleepers. Only downside is the bed is firm. Quick 10 minute didi to the ancient city, malls, delicious lunch and food places. The hotel organised a driver to take us to the hanging temple, yungang grottoes and then to a delicious local restaurant very affordable, helpful, reliable and kind driver (WeChat: 永恒). Also recommend going to the art gallery and museum only 10 mins away. It’s a good location.

Excellent stay at this hotel. Staff were courteous and pleasant. There are no non-smoking rooms but ours didn't smell of smoke, windows open. The location is a 5 min car/taxi ride or 15 minute walk from Datong South station so the ancient city is a 20 min car/taxi ride away; be sure to add breakfast as there are no food options nearby. However, if you're visiting the grottoes and/or have an earlier train ticket, this location is perfect. I would stay here again.

The location of the B&B is good. It is in the ancient city and it is very convenient to walk around. Several restaurants nearby have good prices and taste. The service is thoughtful. Contact in advance and send the parking lot location. After the car is parked in the parking lot, there is a battery car to pick up. The room is comfortable. Recommended!

I passed by Pingyao and stayed for one night. It was a good choice to choose this hotel. The butler service was very convenient. Just send a message. I didn't know how to cast the TV screen, so someone came to help. The quilt was delivered immediately when I asked for it. The mini bar was free. The smart home was also very convenient. The room was decorated in a high-end manner, and the bath water was also very good. Although I didn't use it, the free laundry room and gym on the second floor felt very convenient! I will stay here next time I come to Pingyao!

I found out that this house was one of the ten old houses in the Qing Dynasty. Its original owner was Qi Enyuan, who was the ambassador of Hunan Fanku during the Tongzhi period, and bought it during the Guangxu period. Its architecture is very particular. The courtyard is five rooms, three courtyards, and the wing rooms are all pavilions, which are rare in the local area. The homestay retains the architectural style of blue bricks and gray tiles, brackets and flying eaves, and traditional decorations such as brick carvings and plaques can be seen everywhere. The rooms of the homestay are well-equipped, clean and tidy, and are equipped with Ming and Qing furniture, with a full sense of historical atmosphere. The boss also arranged welcome letters and exquisite snacks for each guest who stayed. Due to the inconvenience of transportation in the ancient city, the boss will also pick up and drop off the guests at the gate of the ancient city in person, which is very heartwarming. The homestay provides free set breakfast, which is simple, but very attentive and warm. Staying in ”Qi Mansion” is like going back in time, as if touching the mechanism of time. When I pushed the door open and left, I realized that I might have just strayed into a gap in history. This was the most unique stay experience I have ever had in my life, it was great!

Although the ancient city of Pingyao is very deserted in December. But the hotel is very welcoming and heart-warming. In the off-season, the service of this hotel is most in line with the star standard. Because the entrance to the underground parking lot is not easy to enter, they also specially sent us a drive-in method to guide us to find the underground parking lot. Had a very comfortable rest all night. The pictures and videos were taken in preparation for check-out, not new arrivals. For reference only.

It is the service that needs significant improvement to warrant the current four star rating.  The price was for two people and yet, there was one tea bag per person, a very small roll of toilet paper and the facial tissue bixes were almost empty. The breakfast was no better: ine boiled egg, a small bun, a bowl of sweet porridge and a tiny slice (about one tenth) of a sweet potato and a root vegetable, with a tiny portion of pickled cabbage. For a mainland B&B well below standard. What’s more, the old nan who was on duty in the morning would pick up dirt from the floor while handling food with bare hands and had trouble finding toilet paper in the storage room while I waited outside in freezing weather. The host is friendly and helped with orientation and organizing transfers to the railway station, so with little improvement in service this could be a good choice for Pingyao.

During the Qingming Festival, I visited Pingyao Ancient City with my family and stayed at the Lishe Hotel. This hotel is quaint, clean and elegant. The rooms are clean, tidy and warm. The staff are warm and hospitable. They were still waiting for our arrival at midnight. The breakfast was separate, delicious, clean and hygienic. They also helped us order tickets for the performance of ”Meet Pingyao Again”. The location of the hotel is also very good. The housekeeper helped us online from before check-in to departure, and pointed out the routes of the ancient city attractions in detail on the tourist map. Thumbs up for the hotel's sincere service

If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic. It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city. With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time. I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.
