CChengziyouzi1We came here with my parents and child for the National Day holiday to escape the crowds, and for someone like me who travels with family and prefers a leisurely pace, it was quite suitable. The hotel gave us a lot of activity schedules when we checked in, but after experiencing them, not many were truly engaging.
First, the good points:
The hotel rooms are located in a villa area, and the ground floor rooms even have a courtyard. The greenery is lush, the environment is beautiful, and the rooms have a dressing room and a decent amount of space.
The hotel breakfast had a rich variety of options, and if you avoided peak hours, the experience was quite good. The red soup noodles were a specialty and tasted delicious.
The hotel service was quite attentive. Upon check-in, they added a butler to WeChat, and any questions asked to the butler were answered promptly. I initially thought the hotel was very large, but it wasn't, many places were within walking distance. However, the hotel shuttle bus was still very timely in picking up and dropping off guests, which, during a still-hot National Day, saved my parents from walking in the scorching sun. This is a big plus.
The hotel's pool and hot springs were enjoyed by the whole family. The only thing was that there were quite a few mosquitoes at the hot springs at night, so it's probably better to go during the day.
The hotel's coastal sunset afternoon tea and cycling are highly recommended. The scenery around the hotel is quite beautiful, and there aren't many people. Sitting there, drinking tea, playing cards, and just relaxing are all perfect activities.
The main downside is that while the hotel activity list has many items, not many are actually engaging. The hotel's children's play area is small with limited facilities, geared more towards toddlers. The variety of animals for feeding was also limited. We spent over an hour fishing in the scorching sun and didn't catch anything. The musical fountain at East Taihu was okay, but I've seen many much more impressive fountain shows, so it wasn't particularly stunning.
Overall, the accommodation was satisfactory, and it would be even better if they could add more engaging activities.
