This is my second stay here, and it's super convenient for visiting my clients; an Uber ride is always under 230 EGP. Every time I come back, the front desk staff helps me order food, and they are always incredibly patient and friendly. The room is very comfortable, with the window directly overlooking the pool on the ground floor. It's a shame I didn't have time to sunbathe by the pool since I was here for a business trip. I'm planning to come back and stay again in April!
We arrived late at night to check in. We were already so so tired and yet the reception could not find our room for four with two queen beds which we booked, and specified as non smoking. It took him quite a while, only then to announce happily since he could not find our room, he would upgrade us to a suite. When we went up to the suite, we found that it only has one king bed and cannot accommodate our family of four, so we had to ask again to change room. Took about another 20 mins for them to finally find our room, which sadly, was not two queen beds as advertised but only two double beds. Room was also only set up for 3 with 3 sets of towels. Toiletries were also missing as it seems this room really was not prepared and readied. Took a whole hour for all to be ready, and we were so so tired already. Showers were also very low pressure, very contrary to the Intercon brand. Only good thing was the Italian restaurant.
The hotel is located in the new part of Cairo, with easy access to the Giza Pyramids and the market. However, it was a little difficult to find, and I was worried about the elevator going up to the third floor. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was also delicious.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a huge variety of fresh ingredients. On our third day, we had an early domestic flight and heard there would be long queues, so we skipped breakfast and the hotel prepared breakfast boxes for us. Turns out, there was no one at the airport, and I really regretted missing out! I wish breakfast started at 6 AM instead. Getting a taxi in Cairo is so easy to get ripped off; an Uber driver tried to charge me 1200 EGP, which was four times the 300 EGP quoted in the app. The bellboy at the entrance was very helpful and found me a car for 600 EGP, which was much more reasonable.
