Check-in was very smooth. In fact, they allowed us to check in earlier - about 1 to 2 hours earlier, I think. The room was already ready, so they allocated it to us when we arrived. The room itself was rather small but functional and clean, so we don’t really have any complaints other than it being a bit small. I guess this is Japanese standards. The pricing is fairly more expensive than the inns across the road, perhaps because of the location and also because it is very new. The property itself has a very nice onsen. The female onsen had a lot of apples floating in it, which was a very nice touch to showcase Aomori apples. The front desk staff are very nice and very friendly. They also have staff who can speak Chinese. Not that I am Chinese, but I can speak some Chinese better than Japanese, which I can’t speak at all. Nevertheless, the staff could converse in English, or at least some basic English. There’s free yoga and some classes, but we didn’t utilise them as it’s not really useful for tourists who would rather spend time outside the hotel. This seems more suited for locals who want a short getaway, but still a very lovely touch. Breakfast is paid separately and does not come with the room, so there is no comment on that. The property provides Nespresso capsules in the room, and there is also a better Nespresso machine near the check-in counter. I also love that they provide water for free without having to pay extra. The lounge is available for everybody and overlooks the bridge. They provide some free snacks and drinks depending on the timing - different items in the morning and in the evening. That being said, there is no alcohol being served. Also, the coffee there is very bad. I don’t understand why they don’t put the Nespresso machine in the lounge since they have one at the lobby. Overall, everything was quite perfect for this hotel. In fact, the location was the most perfect part. Once you exit the train station, you enter an elevator that goes up to the hotel. Since it was winter, I was afraid I would need to drag my bags for a long time, but it’s right outside the exit after you tap your card and turn left. If I remember correctly, the elevator is right there and there is no need to go outside at all. However, there are only two elevators servicing the entire building, so there might be some waiting time. I would advise leaving earlier if you have a train to catch. The only reason this is not a full-star review is because I requested about a one-hour late checkout due to our train time, and they told us we needed to pay - if I remember correctly, ¥2,000 per hour. I felt they were very rigid about the 11 am checkout time. To be honest, even if they had given it to us, we probably wouldn’t have used it anyway, as we later decided to change our train time to leave Aomori, since there isn’t much to do here. Still, the rejection and inflexibility made us feel very uneasy and unwelcome. I think they could have handled this better by being less rigid and more human. So that’s minus points from us. After all, this is part of hospitality, and it doesn’t hurt.

There are only 4 parking spaces next to the hotel that need 500 yen. If you arrive late, you will have to park far away. Amenities A lot, lotion, bath salts, masks Free Japanese wine tasting from 5 to 8 Breakfast is also a choice of curry stains bread cheese The bed is a bit too thin

Traveling from Sendai to Morioka, then Hirosaki, and finally Aomori, I was already a bit 'over' cherry blossoms and wasn't really interested in Yoshitomo Nara's works. So, Aomori itself felt a bit underwhelming for me. The hotel, however, met my expectations. I didn't have breakfast, but I did visit the public bath and enjoyed the ice cream there. The hotel itself is good – clean, well-equipped, and with good service. My only minor complaint is that it's a bit far from the JR station. Also, a 10 AM checkout feels a bit early for the Tohoku region.

Dormy Inn chain hotels rarely disappoint me, and this still holds for Hirosaki one. It is close to Hirosaki Castle rather than Hirosaki Station, but the city has a circular bus that runs every 10 min., and the bus stop for the hotel is just across the road, so it’s not a problem for those who arrive by train. The room is moderate in size by Japan business hotel standard, but it has the added benefits of offering relaxation onsens. As usual, its onsens have both open and indoor pools. This hotel also has cold water pool and sauna. You get free Yakult in the morning, ice pops in the afternoon till late evening. I recommend.

Facilities: The room had a very traditional Japanese feel, and the window view was absolutely stunning! Environment: It's located right where the bus drops you off, literally right in front of the hotel. Service: All the staff were older, white-haired individuals, but their service was excellent. On the downside, the food was quite bad 😂. Dinner was really unappetizing, so I skipped breakfast altogether.

The sign mentioned many amenities on the first floor, like a bookstore, but those are actually part of the attached hot spring facility. The hotel building itself doesn't offer much, so you should head straight to the hot spring, which is connected by a skybridge on the second floor. The hotel rooms are clean, but quite old-fashioned, for instance, the bathroom faucets are separate for hot and cold water. However, the connected hot spring is excellent. The location is also not bad. I also recommend the nearby milk miso ramen restaurant.

This is a very old and unique hot spring hotel. We left Aomori Station at 8:10 am and hiked for five hours to the Oirase Gorge. We took the 3:00 am bus to Tsuta Onsen Station and checked in just in time. Our room was on the second floor, a Japanese-style tatami room. It was quite large, bright, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom and wash basin were shared, but very clean and hygienic, although the noise from walking in the hallway was quite noticeable in the morning. The hot springs were great, built entirely of wood, with no outdoor pool. The water was warm, and you could add cold water yourself. The dinner was nice and small, and exquisite. After dinner, we soaked in the hot springs and went to the front door to stargaze. The starry sky without light pollution was beautiful! We even saw a shooting star! It was a perfect stay! The staff were also very warm and polite, continuing their traditions! When traveling abroad, follow the local customs, observe their rules and pay attention to etiquette, and promote the good image of China.

It is highly recommended to travel by car, because the location is far from the station There is also a self-service laundry near the hotel, which is very convenient Free hot springs are available every night. The bathhouse is small but enough to use. Breakfast choice is simple and not too much money, but it is enough leftovers and tastes very good The room is clean, or it is biased towards the suburbs, there are small insects every night but it does not affect the stay ☀️ The aunts and staff in the dining hall have a good attitude and are courteous to foreigners

The room was spacious, the food was delicious and we had a comfortable stay, but although I understand that alcohol is charged for with meals, I don't like the fact that soft drinks are also charged for (though there were some free drinks). Apart from the food and drinks, I was very satisfied overall, so it was a shame.

GGuest UserService was good. There was a staff who is stationed at the entrance, checking with guest who arrived by car. They will ask for your name, provided clear instructions of where to park. Unfortunately, I have accidentally left the lights in the car switched on. A few moments later when I was doing my check-in, the front desk staff quickly informed me about it. The facilities are good. Food is really good, very different from the other Hoshino resorts in Aomori that I have stayed. At KAI Tsugaru, it is Kaiseki instead of the usual buffet style. The staff took pains to explain and share the reason for each dish that was served. There are only 41 traditionally-furnished and generously-sized rooms offering both Western and Japanese-style designs which gives a very unique and dedicated experience as compared to other hotels which has many rooms.

GGuest UserI went on a trip with my 20-something child and my elderly mother. I had forgotten to make a reservation for a pick-up from the station, but there was someone there, so I asked and they gladly agreed. The hot spring had a large bath and an open-air bath, and the water temperature was just right. There was also a sauna. The changing room was also clean. The meal plan included one night and two meals, and the amount of fish, wild vegetables, bamboo shoots and maitake mushrooms in a pot, tempura, etc. was so large that it was almost impossible to finish, and I was very satisfied. Breakfast was not a buffet, but Japanese food. There was no meat, so the 20-something child seemed a little disappointed. I'm sure there was meat at the restaurant outside the plan. Most of the guests were middle-aged to elderly, and we were the only young guests. I was satisfied, but overall, I got the impression that it was a hot spring for the elderly, including the food and location.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Asamushi Onsen (about 20mins drive from Aomori downtown) as part of our 2025 Spring trip to Aomori area, and booked Tstsumikan Onsen hotel to stay for the night. The hotel location is great. I think all guest rooms come with open ocean view. No private hot spring tub in the guest room but the large gender-specific hot spring pools are open privately to the overnight stay guests from 8PM to the next morning. The stay comes with 2 meals. The food is good and the dinner was served directly in the guest room. The next morning Japanese breakfast was served in the great tatami dinning room, and the breakfast package even comes with free coffee in the gift shop café after the meal. The staff are warm, and the service is good. My recommendation to this hotel come with no hesitation.

GGuest UserMy main reason to go to Ajigasawa was to visit the Takayama Inari Shrine with its snaking Tori gates. It’s about a tenth the length and size of Kyoto’s. Found this ryokan by reviews in the area. It was a toss up between this and the nearby hotel; which turns out to be run by the same group! The ryokan shows its age. But it’s very comfortable, clean and the service, especially by Noro who used his translation app so well, was impeccable! They have map of the property in English. If you drink (alcohol), it’s available in spades! There’s unlimited snacks, water, soda, popsicles, coffee, tea and alcohol for guests. The onsen is open to public, it seemed like the whole village descends after dinner to have a dip! We spent one night: dinner and breakfast were excellent!

GGuest UserBreakfast and dinner are divided into Japanese and Western styles. Dinner is very ceremonial, especially French food. The hotel is very close to the ski resort and Suantang Hot Spring, and there is a shuttle bus. The restaurant has a good view. It is very pleasant to sit in the warm restaurant, drink hot coffee, and look at the snow outside.

GGreta0408It is estimated that it will take about 10 minutes to walk from Asakusa Hot Spring Station. Facilities: Some are old, the air conditioner sound is particularly loud, if you mind, you should pay attention to the tatami and quilt sleep very well, it is this quilt is too short, or I sleep in fact, the back of the cushion, the cabinet seems to see the cushion and quilt, and pay attention to no bathroom, To take a bath in the public bathroom, you can soak in a hot spring (the hotel has a total of 25 rooms, don't worry about too many people, dirty or something) Health: The white socks I wore on the tatami were not dirty, but the shower faucet was a bit old and there was scale Services: The English service is an old gentleman, very tasteful, very polite, is to order the room service ~ for the Japanese, breakfast can be used for 1,500 yen, pay attention to the slippers in the room, I actually wear the shoes outside, the service staff reminded me, I don't understand the meaning, but the gesture should mean it. In general, if you want to experience traditional Japanese style, you can consider staying. There are paintings everywhere in the corridor and the atmosphere is very strong.
