This hotel's rooms are definitely a weakness, but the service and amenities are surprisingly good. No wonder the front desk mentioned at check-in that they've been ranked number one in Japan for customer satisfaction for the past few years. The canteen has everything you could want, and in the evenings, they offer a wide variety of drinks, including complimentary sake. Children can make their own shaved ice, and if they're hungry, they can enjoy chazuke (tea porridge) or curry and raw egg rice. The morning menu is also quite varied, and you can even make your own soba noodles. While the onsen is small, it's thoughtfully equipped with a spacious powder room for ladies, complete with skincare products, a hairdryer, and a hair straightener. We were initially a little disappointed with the small room, but these amenities instantly boosted our satisfaction. If you're passing through Miyazaki for a night, I highly recommend this hotel, and transportation is also very convenient. While it's located near izakayas and pubs, it's recommended to avoid children at night. The hotel itself is very safe.
The hotel is showing its age a bit, but it's probably the best you'll find in Miyazaki. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and I barely saw any other foreign tourists. The fireworks show at night was absolutely incredible! The only downside is that there aren't many convenience stores nearby; you have to walk through a forest to find a 7-Eleven. There are also some attractions close by, but I didn't have time to visit them.
It's about 10 minutes away from the city. The location is not great, but the hospitality is excellent and the hotel thinks about the details of its guests. The lounge area from the large public bath and the free drinks there are great, so you can relax and take your time. I think it's worth staying an night just for this hotel. I wish they could extend the bath time a little more in the morning.
Located near many shops and restaurants but it was probably off peak season so the town seemed quite dead. Hotel is quite new and designed differently from other Dormy Inns- more modern. Parking garage is just beside. Breakfast was good but the variety was somewhat limited compared to other Dormy Inns I've been to. But overall nice stay!
Spent two pleasant and unforgettable nights in your hotel. Saw the beautiful sunset on Qingdao Beach after the heavy rain. Visited the Qingdao Shrine and the mysterious bathing board of the gods. At night, I returned to the hotel and enjoyed the authentic Qingdao hot spring open-air bath in the clean and tidy bathing area. After the hot spring, I had a matcha ice cream. Listened to the sound of rain at night and read comics in the quiet comic bar. It was so comfortable~ I saw the row of original Doraemon, Tsubasa Ozora, Gintama, NANA~ The 80s generation was full of excitement and felt like they were back to their youth! The breakfast environment is beautiful and the food is rich and delicious. In short, I am very satisfied with everything here. I have a very perfect Japanese travel experience. And what I want to say more is: Compared with the beautiful scenery of Miyazaki Aoshima, the lovely Miyazaki people are more worthy of praise. Traveling around Kyushu, the Miyazaki people are the most enthusiastic and hospitable I have seen along the way. I love the scenery and lovely people here~ On the day we first arrived at the hotel, we took the wrong route from the steps and went to the back door. We happened to meet a young lady who had just got off work at the hotel. After she learned that we had taken the wrong route, she immediately led us the way and took my suitcase on her own initiative. There was a section of uphill gravel road, and she even picked up the box very considerately. She carried it all the way to the hotel lobby. As soon as we entered the lobby, she left and there was a thunderstorm outside. The young lady must have been caught in the rain because of helping us. I am really grateful and embarrassed. After that, the staff in every link of the hotel were very warm and kind. The whole experience was super good! We will leave Miyazaki this afternoon and take a cruise to Kobe. We are very happy to choose Miyazaki as the last stop of our Kyushu tour. Thank you for your hotel for giving our Kyushu tour a perfect happy ending.
Stayed one night, location is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants and things to do. Definitely an outdated hotel and could do with a renovation, however the room was definitely very large for Japanese standards so the was a plus!(superior queen). If self driving there is a multistory carpark right behind hotel so that’s also a plus.
A rock-paper-scissors game was set up for the children to enjoy, and my daughters had fun playing it with the staff and receiving presents.
There was only a shower, so we went in the hot spring, which was thick and felt great.
With the ocean right in front of us, we ate our lunch outside.
The location was great, as we could walk to Aoshima Shrine.
My kids were happy and said they would like to stay again.
Thank you very much.
It's about 20-30min drive into Miyazaki town but thats not the main reason why you'd choose this Hotel. It's right by the Sea with so much activities that it's one of the places we wished we stayed an extra day. The Hotel is massive and due to the design, it looks like each room will have a good-excellent sea view. Come in the Summer and enjoy the activities and the surrounding areas.
It was quiet and friendly, so I had a very comfortable rest. At first, I was embarrassed because there was no bathroom, but the large bath was so good that it was
I was misled by Ctrip's traffic instructions. I took the Nichinan Line to Orisha Station. Although it was close to the hotel, there were no taxis at the exit. I walked for nearly an hour to get to the hotel. When I checked out, the hotel arranged a free car to take me to the station. There were no restaurants or convenience stores around the hotel, which was a bit inconvenient. The facilities and baths were OK, and many locals came to take a hot spring bath.

MMaria FlinkWhen I saw where the hotel was located, I immediately knew that I wanted to stay there because I dreamed of seeing Amanoiwato Jinja. I went to the cave twice, in the morning and in the evening, there is a very beautiful road, and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is also easy to get to Takachiho Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes from the hotel.
This was my first experience of staying in a traditional hotel in Japan, and I really liked everything. Delicious dinner and breakfast - I tried a traditional kaiseki dinner, and it was an amazing experience. Attentive, caring hotel staff, perfect cleanliness everywhere, amazing mountain air. Natural wood in the room decoration creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. In the bathroom, you can try Japanese cosmetics. In the evening, you can drink tea, sitting in a comfortable chair with a book. At first, the silence around is unusual, but for us, city dwellers, it is necessary. Since it is dark around, you can see the starry sky - you will not see this in the city. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the traditional Yokagura show in the evening. For someone interested in mythology, this was very interesting.
I did not get the hang of the hot tub right away and I still feel awkward about it, and I forgot to mention that I am allergic to onions, but it is my fault for forgetting to mention it.
I would highly recommend the Ryokan Iwatoya, it was an amazing experience.

BBubuWuThe rooms are comfortably and elegantly designed, fully equipped, and provide high-quality beds and a quiet resting environment. The service staff is enthusiastic and professional, and can respond to needs quickly, making the stay experience more pleasant. The hotel offers a variety of dining options, rich and delicious breakfast, as well as facilities such as a gym and swimming pool to meet the needs of different travelers. The overall environment is clean and tidy, and the cost-effectiveness is high. It is a recommended accommodation option.

TTravel GuduSpacious and modern room. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent service and amenities. Two small things could be improved: the small window at the bottom of the room lets in a lot of light at night; a curtain would be helpful. Additionally, the Wi-Fi is weak, especially in the bathroom.
