"The ski-in/ski-out access to the hotel was incredibly convenient, making it a one-stop shop for dining, entertainment, and relaxation. Although the room was small, it was well-equipped, and the view from the window was quite lovely. My only issue was the incredibly loud noise from some equipment that started around 6 AM each morning, waking me up three days in a row. Additionally, the hotel's dining options were all pretty mediocre and not great value for money."

"Everything about the service was top-notch. The food was all delicious, and there was plenty of it to fill you up, with kaiseki cuisine even including sake, and the option to choose one dish from the menu. After 10 PM, they offer a late-night snack called 'yonaki soba' (night-time ramen). It's quantity-limited, so when I went a little before 10 PM, many people were already waiting. The dining area has limited seating, but takeaway was an option, so I ate it in my room. From ice cream after a bath to Yakult in the morning, I was never hungry and felt full the entire time I was at the inn. It was wonderful. The breakfast was also voluminous, and you could have unlimited rice. There's also a private bath. While it doesn't have a showerhead, it's a perfect space to spend time with a loved one. It was available when I went in the evening. Overall, I was surprised by how few Japanese guests there were; most seemed to be Chinese or other Asian guests. I'd like to stay here again when I go skiing."

The best part of skiing is spending time in the midst of magnificent nature. The NASPA Ski Garden spreads out in front of the hotel. The ski center is fully equipped with ski rentals, a pro shop, and a ski school, so you can enjoy the best of ski resorts. Please note that snowboarding is prohibited as this is a ski resort only. The 800m2 large baths for men and women allow you to enjoy the natural hot springs while looking out at the magnificent nature that spreads out before you. The spring quality is a weak alkaline simple hot spring, which is also known as a beauty bath. From superior rooms to suites, the rooms are spacious and prioritize livability. Every space at NASPA New Otani is filled with comfort that has not been fully pursued in resort hotels until now, and comfort that satisfies even long-term stays. The menus offered by NASPA New Otani are made with seasonal ingredients carefully selected by the chef. Western food, Japanese food, buffets, teppanyaki, sweets, and a fusion of tradition and techniques have been created to create a masterpiece that is unique to NASPA. After your meal, we recommend the main bar Capri, ASOBI BAR Festa, or the karaoke room.

"NASPA New Otani Perfect family stay with spacious rooms and great snow park for kids! ”We had a wonderful stay at NASPA New Otani. The hotel's location is very convenient, not far from the train station, and the free shuttle bus service is available throughout the day, which made our travels so easy. We stayed in a Japanese Style Room, and it was incredibly spacious at 50 square meters. It was perfect for our family of three (parents and our 3-year-old child). There was plenty of room for our little one to run around and play comfortably without feeling cramped. The private snow park at the hotel is fantastic, especially for young children. Our child had so much fun playing in the snow, and it felt very safe and family-friendly. We are truly impressed with the hospitality and the facilities. We are already planning to come back and stay here again next year! Highly recommended for families.”"

"Had informed the hotel to let us have room side by side or same level months before arrival but when check in even having more than 300 rooms they cannot put us at same level and split the parents and 3 children to different level. Is quite annoying for a big resort to messed up like this! Felt is a bit overpriced accomodation. Location is at a corner or Myoko so a bit far if not car to Akakura or town area. Lotte Arai ski slopes have many slopes which is closed so not so fun. Breakfast is good. Can choose The Plate (western) or Asahi (japanese) buffet. Onsen is convenient at level 2. Parking is at The Lodge. So it want convenient to car park then book The Lodge. But the main locker and ski walk out is at Arai Building"

"The room was spacious, which was great for staying with kids. There's a small ski resort right behind the hotel, perfect for beginners. If you're heading to Yuzawa Nakazato Ski Resort, it's a bit of a walk. The shuttle bus is quite convenient, running between Yuzawa Station and the hotel, taking about 15 minutes, with a stop at Iwahara Ski Resort. Dining options are limited; the buffet was just okay, but the à la carte options were decent, though reservations are required for both. Lunch options were very sparse. A downside is that there's no free luggage storage. So, if you arrive early or leave late, you'll need to figure out what to do with your bags."

"This hotel is quite popular, and I managed to book it two months in advance at a great price, which included breakfast. I highly recommend the traditional Japanese tatami rooms – they're spacious, have fantastic views, and I even got lucky enough to capture a photo of the 'sun-kissed golden mountain'! Plus, the hotel offers a dedicated shuttle service to and from the station at set times, and their dinner was unexpectedly superb. We had a private room for our Japanese meal, which was both refined and delicious. There are over 10 types of hot springs (onsen) available, and they were clean and not crowded. All in all, I highly recommend this place."

Located in Yuzawa Town, a charming hot spring resort in Minamiuonuma District, Niigata Prefecture, Trip7 Yuzawa Onsen Hotel is a hot spring resort hotel where the beauty of nature and an artistic atmosphere come together in harmony. Whether you're looking to enjoy the snowy mountains on a ski or snowboard, or simply soak in the seasonal flavors and relaxing hot springs, this is the ideal destination for you to fully enjoy the charms of Echigo Yuzawa. Access is also extremely convenient, just a five-minute walk from JR Echigo Yuzawa Station. There is also a scheduled shuttle bus to and from the station, making travel easy even for those with large luggage. Trip7 Yuzawa Onsen Hotel offers over 200 rooms. A wide variety of room types are available, including standard twins, triple rooms, Japanese-Western rooms, family suites, and deluxe suites, combining traditional Japanese charm with modern Western comfort. With a selection of rooms to suit a wide range of needs, everyone can enjoy a comfortable stay. The first floor of the hotel features a relaxing rest area, a ski equipment rental corner, a shop, and a coin laundry. Luggage storage and courier services are also available. The second floor features a spacious restaurant, a buffet restaurant, and a multi-purpose event room. The third and fourth floors of the annex are home to large, medium, and small banquet halls that can accommodate banquets, parties, and dinners of various sizes. The 13th floor is home to the hotel's greatest attraction: the open-air observation hot spring, "Kuchu Onsen," located 40 meters above ground. The hotel also features the indoor hot spring "Goshikiyu," an open-air bath with a spacious feel, and a sauna. The views of Echigo Yuzawa's townscape and mountains from a soak in the hot spring are exceptional, and in winter, you can enjoy a blissful moment immersed in the warm water while admiring the snow-capped scenery. Enjoy an exquisite time soothing both body and mind, where the silvery white world and the warmth of the hot springs blend in harmony. The hot spring in the main building is a weakly alkaline, hypotonic, high-temperature hot spring (simple hot spring) with a source temperature of an astounding 55.2°C. The water is soft and very gentle on the skin. Rich in natural minerals, the hot spring is said to be effective in easing muscle and joint fatigue and pain, and is also good for symptoms such as neuralgia, frozen shoulder, motor paralysis, bruises, and sprains. It is also known to be effective for chronic digestive disorders and hemorrhoids, and is also useful for improving sensitivity to the cold and promoting blood circulation.

"We booked this hotel with the whole family to meet up with friends for a ski trip. It's an older hotel that recently reopened, and the facilities are decently maintained. If you're looking for a super luxurious experience, this might not be the place for you. However, the number of rooms and the space are quite generous for Japan, and all basic facility needs are met. Plus, there's an onsen and open-air bath on the top floor, which was incredibly therapeutic after a day of skiing. The front desk staff were all sweet, kind young women who spoke Chinese and provided thoughtful and attentive service throughout our stay. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Orange/Blue line, making it easy to get to the ski resort and the train station. The family room offered excellent value for money and comes highly recommended."

"One of the loveliest ryokans we've ever stayed at in Japan, wish we stayed for longer. Every part of the hotel is so beautiful and serves as a lovely photo backdrop. There is a lounge with coffee/tea in the mornings and alcohol and snacks in the evening. There is also a playroom (suitable for infants to 6years old). Service is top notch, everyone is so helpful and friendly. Extremely easy to communicate with them as the staff can speak English well. They gave us a map and told us where we could go for food or to the ski resorts and gave a lot of local advice. They provide all the amenities you need. They even have rain boots that you can borrow and wear in case your shoes are not waterproof. It snowed heavily while we were there and the staff are super attentive - they asked where we were headed to and suggested for comfort, that we wear the hotel's rain boots as they knew my partner's shoe wasn't waterproof/suitable to walk through the snow. Rooms are very clean, big and comfortable (only that the futons are a little thin). The onsens are rather small, but the outdoor onsen is so beautiful. They provide a shuttle service to the train station (upon request) , although it is a relatively short walk - 5mins - and easy to walk if there is no snow. 7 eleven right next to the train station and New Days inside the train station. We loved every single thing about this charming lovely hotel and we will definitely be back if we are in Echigo Yuzawa."

At the open-air bath where you can enjoy the view of Mt. Awagatake, one of Japan's 300 famous mountains, and the sauna and restaurant where you can enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by a bonfire, you can deeply connect with the producers and enjoy the local cuisine. We will prepare a menu that makes the most of the ingredients. As accommodation facilities, there are villa buildings (2 types, 3 buildings) and a mobile house "JYUBAKO-" jointly developed by Kengo Kuma and Snow Peak. The design allows you to feel a sense of unity with nature, and you can enjoy an experience that blends into the four seasons of Niigata.

"Came across this hotel by chance. With very few rooms, the stay was excellent. It was almost empty at night, which was great for dining and enjoying the hot springs. It was my first time staying in the snow, and it was a truly magical experience. The service and food were both top-notch. I had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it."

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your exceptional kindness and support. Yesterday, we were unfortunately involved in a car accident. The hotel was very understanding and kindly allowed us to reschedule our stay to another day. We were deeply touched by your flexibility and consideration. Today, we experienced another accident in the mountains. During this difficult time, one the staff was incredibly kind and supportive. She helped us communicate and translate with the police, ensuring that we could clearly explain the situation and receive assistance. Her help was truly invaluable in getting us safely rescued. In addition, the hotel manager and staffs generously drove us from the police station back to the hotel and assisted us with the necessary follow-up arrangements. Their patience, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond their duties meant so much to us. We are truly grateful for the care and support we received. It has been a blessing to be guests at Oosado Hotel, and we will always remember your kindness.

Echigo Yuzawa Onsen Yuzawa Grand Hotel

The hotel's location is excellent. You can see the Yuzawa Grand Hotel nestled on the mountainside right from the west exit of Echigo-Yuzawa Station. It's about a 5-minute walk, though the large, steep slope at the hotel entrance requires careful walking, especially after a snowfall in Echigo-Yuzawa and when pushing luggage, to avoid slipping. We booked a Japanese/Western-style room, and the hotel gave us a room on the 7th floor of the South Wing, directly facing the station. The views were absolutely superb, especially the distant mountains after a snowfall – truly the 'Snow Country' I'd imagined. The room had two beds, and a futon was set up in the Japanese-style area, making it perfect for families with two children on a ski trip. There are two onsen (hot springs) on the hotel's first floor, and the open-air bath is particularly memorable, especially when you catch a heavy snow while soaking outdoors. An unforgettable experience! The hotel exudes the charm of an established onsen hotel, with attentive and meticulous service. Yukata and towels are changed daily. Although the facilities show their age, they are still perfectly functional, especially the in-room mini-bar/sink area, which was convenient for eating bentos in the room after skiing each day. Oh, we didn't book breakfast or dinner; we got all our meals from the convenience store inside the station and nearby restaurants. The hotel's excellent service was also evident in many small details, such as the free rain boots at the entrance and the weather forecasts for various ski resorts. I particularly recommend the ski rental shop right outside the hotel; they have a great attitude, reasonable prices, and the ski gear and helmets are all very new. In summary, it was a very satisfying stay in every aspect. If I come back to Echigo-Yuzawa during the ski season, I will definitely stay here again!
