The location is super convenient! It's only about 100 meters from Makishi Monorail Station, so it's really easy to find. You can easily walk to Kokusai Street for shopping. It offers great value for money, and the staff are very friendly. A major bonus is their complimentary drink bar on the 2nd floor, available from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, including local Okinawan beer (Oimo beer), which I thoroughly enjoyed for three days. They also offer free ramen from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Even though they're small bowls, they taste pretty good, and there's usually a long line for them – perfect as a late-night snack. Overall, this hotel in Naha is excellent from its location to its food and beverage offerings. Highly recommended for families with children.

Excellent value! It's super convenient to get around, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, and a taxi ride from Naha city center isn't far at all. Getting to the airport only takes about 10-15 minutes by car. The ocean view private onsen room offered an absolutely stunning view! The hot spring water was great too, with a subtle sulfur smell. I also tried the public large bath once, which was also excellent, featuring standing baths, a sauna, and a salt room. While the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it had a lot of authentic Okinawan specialties. We also had a birthday dinner there, choosing both the Wagyu sukiyaki and Wagyu yakiniku sets, and both were incredibly delicious. They even surprised me with a birthday cake! The room was also spacious. All in all, I was extremely satisfied.

The rooms were spacious and spotless. While there are no convenience stores within walking distance, a 5-minute drive will take you to both a convenience store and a supermarket. Breakfast options had minor variations over our four mornings. The only minor inconvenience was that the onsen (hot spring) didn't provide any personal toiletries; guests need to bring their own facial cleanser and other skincare items. Ample outdoor parking is available.

I took bus 143 from Naha Bus Terminal to the American Village (it was the last stop for this bus, not sure where the actual last stop is) and walked for about 10 minutes to reach the hotel. Since it was before check-in time, I waited in the lobby, where complimentary drinks and cookies were available. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic and helped us store our luggage first; the service was excellent. After checking in, we were given an upgraded room, much larger than what we had booked, which was fantastic! American Village at night is beautiful and definitely worth staying for a night.

It is convenient to reach the resort via express bus from Naha Bus Terminal or from the airport. Bus 117 goes directly to the resort front lobby, a 2.5 hours Bus ride as we did not drive. Once you alighted from the bus, you are greeted by the emerald-coloured sea, made me felt so relaxed and worth the bus ride. The room is big and overlooked the sea, I can sit at the balcony and enjoy the view with a cup of tea all day long. The resort is within the Ocean Expo Park, so can just walk to the Okinawa Chutaumi Aquarium and the various sites. The Emerald beach is right in front of the resort and can just walk over after breakfast to enjoy the cool sea breeze and sea water. We will definitely stay at this resort again if we come back to okinawa again.

The advantage is that the rooms are very spacious, but you have to book a more expensive room type. The balcony view is fantastic, you can watch the sunset. Although it's a port, the water features and swimming pools below the commercial building are lit up at night, which actually looks pretty good. There's a convenience store right next to the lobby, which is very handy. The hot spring is nice, they gave us tickets, though the pools aren't particularly large. The downside is that the location is a 15-minute walk from the light rail, but it's close to the beach. Housekeeping is every two days; if you want it daily, you have to pay, but they do provide two days' worth of amenities and water, so it's not a big deal. Breakfast was awful, the quality was subpar, and the restaurant looked two grades below the hotel itself. There are also quite a few tour groups at this hotel because many Japanese people stay here for the hot springs. The front desk staff's English was terrible; I couldn't understand their 'curry accent,' I think they were Nepalese.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, especially because of the spa facilities. The spa includes a sauna, a pool, an onsen, a cold bath, showers, and everything is very clean and well-maintained. A special mention goes to the fact that the spa is tattoo-friendly for both men and women. I have three medium-sized tattoos on my arms and saw other women who were even more tattooed than me — it was never an issue. I double-checked at the front desk, and they confirmed that tattoos are accepted. I'm highlighting this because I saw some other reviews saying the spa wasn't tattoo-friendly, but that was not my experience at all. The only downside I found is that the rooms are a bit noisy — you can easily hear what's going on in the hallways throughout the day, which is unfortunate. Also, the hotel is not exactly close to the city center; it's about a 15–20 minute walk. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the spa! Oh, and the bathrooms are nice haha!

The location is very good, only 10 minutes walk to Kokusai-dori, there is a parking lot downstairs, and there is a 7-11 with family mark separated. But the service is really bad. They said there was too much garbage and they wanted to charge a cleaning fee, even though only three shoe boxes and a few paper bags were left behind. The hygiene was not up to standard. There were cigarette butts in the trash can in the room. However, since we returned from the Kokusai Express at dawn, we did not inform the hotel and simply did not use the trash can. When we checked out, they charged a cleaning fee of 35,000 yen, but no receipt or computer bill was provided. It felt like a scam.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are spacious with fairly new facilities. The cleanliness is impeccable. I didn't experience any strange odors in the hallway like some other reviews mentioned. It was truly a great value during the off-peak season. The only minor drawback was that the Japanese breakfast was a bit simple, without even coffee or juice. Overall, it's a resort hotel with excellent value for money.

The room amenities are quite basic. There's a wooden hook on the wall as you enter, but no regular coat rack in an entryway. The shower pressure isn't strong. When you go out to the balcony to enjoy the view, it's best to close the door because there are lots of bugs and birds (crows) that will fly in. Definitely bring enough clothes and don't plan on doing laundry. I rinsed my swimsuit and hung it on the balcony to dry. In just a short while, a crow flew by and pooped on the balcony chair and my swimsuit. I wasn't sure if bird droppings carry diseases, so I had to throw it away. You can tell the ecosystem is really thriving! After dinner, when I'd walk around the hotel grounds, I'd always get bitten by bugs – it felt very much like being in the countryside. There are no convenience stores nearby, and it's best not to go out after 6 or 7 PM; it gets too dark, and the cawing of the crows makes it quite eerie. It's best to eat all three meals at the hotel. There's very little storage space in the room! It's suitable for solo travelers or for an occasional one-night stay. Important note: During my stay this time (July), the bathroom constantly felt like it was swaying, like being on a boat. I wonder if it was an earthquake! All the facilities like the pool, table tennis, and various other entertainment options are chargeable, so you can decide based on your needs. There's a hot spring nearby, but the shower only dispenses water for a short while after you press the button. So, when you're showering, you have to hold the showerhead with one hand and keep pressing the button with the other. Talk about saving water! This is something they could really learn from Japan! As soon as you enter the hotel, from the lobby to the room, you'll notice that musty, decades-old hotel smell. If you like vintage scents, you might enjoy it.

YYEUNG RoyAlthough AJ Ikei Island Hotel is located in a remote corner, it has its own unique charm. The hotel faces the Pacific coast, and the building overlooks the ocean. There are green grasslands around it and a large children's playground. There are hot springs indoors, so you can soak in the warmth after a day of exercise to relieve your fatigue. The hotel is a great place for vacation and leisure!

BButterchocolateyStayed for 1 night at the hotel and everything was perfect. Feeling welcomed at the door with the staff greeting us and checking with our booking, followed by a welcome matcha and mochi then the check-in procedures. Since we booked the plan with dinner and breakfast, we got the time to enjoy the public bath area before heading to the restaurant for a scrumptious dinner, with sunset as the backdrop. Breakfast on the next day is also a pleasant surprise with the Japanese set breakfast and free flow on pancakes that you can make on your own at the pancake machine, which is a satisfying if you crave for a taste of Western style breakfast. I would love to stay in this hotel again when revisiting Okinawa next time!

GGuest UserThere are so many fun activities in the hotel. If you stay for three nights in the off-season, you will get free lunch. You can also participate in paid activities at a discount. It is a paradise for children. This year, it feels like the off-season is not off-season. All rooms are fully booked. Fortunately, the weather is good. Everything is worth it.
