This hotel has a unique inclined elevator, like a mountain cable car, which is something you don't see in many places. There are also foot massage machines next to the lobby on the first floor, so you might want to give them a try if you have the chance.

Really enjoyed my stay at Kameya Rakan! From the beginning, staff at check-in were very pleasant. The staff that attended to us also spoke really good English! There was also a microwave, some brochures/maps with discount codes for attractions (e.g. Mt Omuro chairlift). Parking was plenty and free, located behind the accommodation. There is a sign that says Kameya Rakan Parking. Room was tatami style, and we chose the seaview room which was really nice. They were also very kind to prepare iced water for us in the room which I have never encountered before. Would definitely come back to stay again!

I will definitely come back here next time I visit Shimoda. Facilities: Although old, it's incredibly clean, with absolutely no musty smell typical of old hotels. It's very well-maintained. Hygine: Excellent. Both the rooms and the bathhouse are spotless. Environment: The hotel is located in a private bay, perfect for a self-drive vacation. I'd love to try the beachside bathhouse in the summer sometime. Service: Exceptional, the best service experience I've had on this entire trip. They didn't treat us any differently even though we were foreigners. Breakfast: This deserves a special mention – the breakfast is incredibly rich and delicious. If you love hotel breakfasts, you must try it. Many guests went back four or five times, and there were several options for the same type of food.

A quiet onsen town, with traditional Japanese rooms. It's slowly becoming commercialized, and fewer places offer dinner and breakfast served in your room these days. This stay, however, was a great experience. Since it was our anniversary, the staff even arranged for us to have a pair of mandarin ducks in our room. They took photos of us and gifted them to us at check-out, which was a lovely touch. We visited on a weekday, so the public bath felt almost like a private one. Enjoying the public bath all to ourselves, gazing at the ocean and listening to the waves, was incredibly relaxing. The hotel's shuttle bus is super convenient, getting guests to Izu-Atagawa Station in just a minute.

I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely loved the Hachiman-no Wayo-shiki room type at KIRA-NO-SATO! Upon reaching the floor of our room, we had to take off our shoes and put them in a shoe cabinet, then walk barefoot to the room. If you're heading to the public bathhouse or just exploring the hotel, you can wear the geta (wooden clogs) provided by the shoe cabinet. The floors were incredibly clean; walking barefoot was very comfortable and not dirty at all. The room itself was spotless and spacious, not feeling old-fashioned in the slightest. In fact, it looked quite new. The shower room's design reminded me of a sauna, but it was very comfortable and clean. We didn't use the public bath. Instead, we showered in our room each time before grabbing the key for a private onsen. The 'Stone Craftsman' bath, made of stone, was a bit small; it felt a little cramped for two people. 'Bamboo Immortal' was made of wood (or perhaps bamboo, judging by the name?) and offered more space. 'Rock Seat' was more like a small swimming pool, the largest of the three private onsens, very spacious for two, and had the best overhead cover. The hotel front desk offered complimentary drinks, including sodas, coffee, and tea. The public bath area provided milk and coffee milk in the mornings, and lactic acid drinks and ice cream in the evenings. The building next to the front desk offered various refreshments at different times, such as green tea, local sweet potatoes, soba noodles, and oden. The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle bus service to Izu-Kogen Station, though it stops running after 5:30 PM. After that, you'd have to walk. The walk from the station to the hotel is uphill with a significant incline, which can be tiring if you have luggage or many bags. The hotel staff were all very enthusiastic and polite! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Izu~

The room was spacious and quiet. The front desk staff spoke Japanese and English and were very friendly. The view was also great, with the ocean right outside the window. You could hear the sound of the waves with the window open, but it was well soundproofed when closed. It had two beds and a large tatami mat, which could fit two people, making it a room for four in total. There's free parking, and the hotel was clean. The shower and bedroom were separated, which was a nice touch. Very satisfied.

First of all, I would like to thank Ms. Yang at the front desk. Her sincere and enthusiastic introduction to the surrounding attractions and transportation was very helpful. Her attentive service definitely left a good first impression. The room was also very comfortable and clean, with all the necessary amenities. Our booked room had a private bath overlooking the sea, allowing us to relax whenever we wanted. Since we didn't have a car this time, it's about a ten-minute walk from JR Shimoda Station to the hotel. I recommend those with large luggage drive to the hotel or take a taxi. Regarding the meals, breakfast and dinner were both kaiseki cuisine, exquisite and plentiful. The only downside was that while dinner was different on the first two nights, it was the same on the third night, and we couldn't pay extra to change to other dishes. It felt a bit inflexible, but not a major issue. Overall, I would still highly recommend it!

The location is right in front of the beach and it is the perfect place to stay if u are going to the Shirahama beach. Cleanliness is perfect too but I gave it 4/5 because the rooms are not soundproof. We can hear the footstep from the corridor and above room. The service is perfect too. There is a shuttle bus for the hotel and they let us in from 2:30pm although the actual check in time is 3pm. The staff will wait for u at the front door to give you towel when you come back from the beach. As for the amenities, they have massage services (need additional cost), pool, onsen and etc. But we didn’t use most of the, so don’t know about their quality. So I gave it 4/5.

You definitely need a car to get to this accommodation, but the rooms are top-notch. I chose a room with a private open-air bath, and the view of the ocean was spectacular. I also took a walk around the small island just as the sun was setting, and it was absolutely beautiful! The dinner was also very generous and featured local flavors, definitely worth trying!

XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions. The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families. It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹 In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

GGuest UserWe had a truly wonderful stay at Ittouan. The experience was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They noticed us from far away and immediately came to help carry our luggage. One of the staff members, a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English, was especially helpful and made communication very easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I would like to thank her again. We booked both dinner and breakfast, and the meals were fantastic. The ingredients were very fresh and the variety was impressive. Every dish was different and beautifully prepared. However, for two women like us, the portions were honestly quite generous — even sharing one meal between two people might have been enough! The location is excellent. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Kawazu Station, which makes it extremely convenient for visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms. It is also very close to the beautiful coastline, so the surroundings are lovely. Our room had a private onsen bath where we could soak while enjoying the view of cherry blossoms, which was a truly special experience. There is also a larger private bath available by reservation (free of charge). We also tried the hot stone spa, which was incredibly effective in relieving the fatigue after my marathon. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I would love to come back again in the future, hopefully with my family.

KKKYLam616Hotel location is excellent, it’s located on top of Gotemba premium outlet (very close to the hillside section) The room is clean and spacious, hotel guest can enjoy “木の花の湯” hot spring for free.(And this hot spring is accepted people with tattoos to enter👍🏻) The breakfast is great too, and I strongly recommended to add breakfast with your booking as there will be no convenience store nearby. Sadly I cannot be able to see the mountain Fuji during my stay because the weather isn’t good… I will be back and definitely to stay at least 2 night, hope I will be able to see the mountain Fuji during my next visit🙏🏻

HHahuhehuhumaoThere were very few Chinese guests, mostly Japanese families on vacation. We were probably among the rare Chinese guests at this hotel. We chose the Horizon room type, which comes with two private onsen baths. They aren't huge, but they are impeccably clean. Dining was at Ocean, about a 15-minute walk away. The upside is that it's perfect for a leisurely stroll back to your room after dinner to digest your meal. Atami feels like a mini-Chongqing, with very genuine and friendly locals. I'd definitely visit again.

GGuest UserThe room was very spacious, half Japanese-style tatami and half Western-style. The rooftop had a sea view. I booked a room with breakfast and dinner included; the food was very Japanese, the service was excellent, and the taste was good. It's difficult to find places to eat in the Omuro-yama area of Izu, so booking a room with meals was a great idea. There's also a hot spring bath, and many styles of yukata are available at the front desk. This hotel was very comfortable and I highly recommend it! The only thing to note is that you have to climb a hill to get to the hotel, but the advantage is that the children's common area on the third floor has a view of Mount Omuro. The hotel is connected to the Cactus Zoo, and staying at this hotel gets you a discount on zoo tickets. I even saw peacocks in the restaurant!

GGuest UserThe room offered a direct view of Mount Fuji, and it was quite spacious. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the service was top-notch. However, the biggest issue was a strong, unpleasant curry smell in the room. I asked the front desk to switch rooms, but the new one also had the same curry odor. There seem to be a lot of South Asian guests here; I noticed many during check-in. I suspect they might have cooked something in the rooms, and the smell just won't go away. I hope future guests don't get unlucky and end up with one of these rooms when they check in.

ZZhangzhihengThe hotel's location couldn't be more convenient, right by the Shinkansen exit. Downstairs, there are several restaurants, including yakiniku, ramen, and BBQ. I highly recommend Fuku no Ken – their grilled skewers are absolutely delicious, as is their oden, and it's all very affordable. The twin beds in the double room are very spacious, and you can push them together. The floor-to-ceiling window offers a direct view of Mount Fuji, and we had clear skies every day of our stay, which was beautiful. The room details are also very refined, and there's even a special jewelry stand. The breakfast selection isn't huge, and there aren't many hot dishes. We mostly relied on miso soup and ochazuke (rice with hot tea/broth). However, salads and fruits were plentiful. When we checked out, I forgot my passport at the hotel. Not long after, the hotel proactively called me. I was already on the Shinkansen, but I quickly rushed off before the train departed to retrieve it. It was a close call, but the hotel's service was truly efficient and timely.

GGuest UserThis place is located at Izu-Ōkawa Station, which is a bit off the beaten path for a transport hub in the East Izu area. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which you can book in advance via email or phone. The front desk has a ********* lady who speaks Chinese and is very helpful, answering any questions you might have. The food is quite good, and there are two large outdoor private onsens where you can see stars on a clear night. However, if you want to see a lot of stars, you should head to Ōshima or a nearby island. The room size is standard; in Japanese-style rooms, staff will lay out futons as there are no beds. The tatami mats are very new and have that unique new tatami smell. The private onsen in the room is also nice for a soak. If you're interested, there's also a wild hot spring by the sea – just Google it. You'll find a Lawson convenience store a short walk along the coastline. Overall, apart from the slightly remote location, there aren't any major drawbacks.

GGuest UserBeautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus. Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!

AAnonymous UserCheck-in was quick and easy, with two staff members who spoke Chinese, so there were no language barrier issues. When checking in, they proactively asked about our preferred dinner time to avoid long waits due to too many guests dining at once. Since our room didn't have a private bathroom, we used the public male and female onsen baths downstairs, which were well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. After dinner, you can reserve the karaoke or mahjong rooms at the front desk in advance and use them at your reserved time. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was quite delicious.
