Highly recommended. Clean facilities with two public onsens and an amazing few of Mt. Fuji. If you do not end up with a mountain view room do not be too concerned- there is an observation deck up stairs. Private onsens are available for rental. Great service and a relaxing environment, if you find yourself in the area I suggest a 2 night stay at minimum- I had only booked one night and it felt insufficient to fully immerse oneself in the relaxing atmosphere.

We booked a room with a balcony and could see Mount Fuji right from there (picture 1). Both breakfast and dinner at the hotel were excellent. There are two hot springs. The 'Mantenboshi' on the first basement floor has both indoor and outdoor onsen. The 'Tenbodai' on the second floor is outdoor-only and offers panoramic views of Lake Yamanaka, which is especially delightful when it's not crowded. The hotel is located on a hill, and since we drove, it was convenient to go down to explore the lake. If you don't have a car, you might want to consider your options carefully. Swan Lake Beach is just down the hill.

We received a free upgrade to a room with a view on mount fuji which was great. The room was spacious and decent. Location is ok, but we arrived late and we could not get anything to eat anymore (also not nearby) arrived at 22:30 or something. We did not make use of the Onsen or something so cannot comment about that

Highland Resort & Spa Hotel is at excellent location, the express bus station from Tokyo is right by the door step. Although there is a theme park next door it didn’t seem to be open or busy. I booked a room for 3 nights with Mt Fuji view. And I was lucky enough to wake up to view of Mt. Fuji for 2 days. On the day I checked out, there was heavy snow, and I couldn’t see anything out of my window. Hotel has a very big Onsen connected to the it which is free for hotel guest. Hotel had a few restaurants, the buffet breakfast was very good. The macron club Restaurant serves lovely Italian cuisine and a few Asian dishes. I had a very delicious lunch there.  Highland Hotel is closed to Kawaguchi Lake and Yamanakako lake.

The hotel staff provided excellent service, even offering a hand-drawn map for reference. The location is incredibly convenient; whether you're coming from Gotemba Premium Outlets or taking a bus to Tokyo, you can board right at the hotel entrance. We were lucky enough to have a view of Mount Fuji from our room, which my friends absolutely loved for taking photos. The front desk staff spoke good English, so communication was seamless. The 150 JPY per person hot spring bath was an amazing value! On a weekday evening, it wasn't crowded at all, and it even had an outdoor bath. I imagine it would be absolutely beautiful if it were snowing.

Had a very wonderful stay here , lucky day with a rather clear view of mt Fuji right at our balcony . Onsen on the rooftop had a very clear and nice view too . Food and the service is very well taken care of , unload all our luggage and valet my car . 3 of the staffs even send us right to our room and they do it out of professionalism because they refuse to accept the tips I offer them . Highly recommend 🙏🏼

・I think it would be better if they were a little more welcoming and didn't get hung up on appearances. ・The hot water kettle has a Japanese setting, so a foreign tourist who was having trouble using it spoke to me in English and explained how to use it. ・The parking lot should be made a little easier to understand and use. ・I'm glad that my family liked the Japanese-style room, and my child said, ”I want to go to the shrine room again.”

The hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk to Lake Kawaguchiko. We chose a room with windows, and the hotel gave us a corner room, so the front window offered a perfect view of Lake Kawaguchiko, and the side window overlooked Mount Fuji. The hotel also has free hot spring baths, which was a nice bonus. We also booked breakfast and dinner, and they were quite good!

We booked this stay for the in-house public hot bath and the lakeside advantage. Check-in was smooth and fast with the staff providing a lot of information, events happening nearby and the different attractions. They spoke good English and was very helpful and informative. The room was disappointing though. It was old, no functional furnitures. The seat covers were very old and with stains. Tv was too small for the size of the room. No convenient outlet near, we used a outlet that was meant for a lamp. Bedding was comfortable though. It is based on traditional house style. The bath was wonderful, not crowded at all. Dont think its worth the price with its current fixtures and furnishing. Unless it was the room that faces the lake but for that they will charge extra.

AAnonymous UserNo regret in choosing this hotel! Unobstructed view of the mt fuji. Can u imagine watching this beautiful view from ur room. It also includes free breakfast and dinner, huge variety of food. Also they provide free shuttle service to kawaguchiko station. Will definitely share this hotel to my friends! Only one little problem i encountered was the shower head keeps dripping even after i turn it off and the dripping sound is kinda annoying. I have tried pointing the shower head into several position but it just doesn’t work. Overall, im satisfied because ntg can beat this beautiful fuji view.

GGuest UserIt was a perfect stay at Bessho Sasa my family and I really appreciated the superb service the staff provided my family (I travelled with my 88-year old mum so we had quite a lot of needs) with. I had left some items in the room and they promptly had it couriered to me in Tokyo. The dinners each night were very well prepared, each day was fun-filled with so many activities. The Taiko show was done so professionally I was surprised that the drummers were all staff of the resort!! I would love to re-visit the resort again some day.

GGuest UserStayed 3days2nights with breakfast and dinner, extremely enjoyable stay with hotel new century. I would highly recommend staying here. 1. Friendly staff welcoming us, fluent English explanation 2. take a free shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko station. 3. Before leaving, the staff was proactive to take photos in front of the Fuji mountain view And we received 4pcs of postcards when checking out time. 4. I like the onsen in high view during night time, and also lower the floor onsen in the morning with a mountain view of Fuji. 5. Food delicious 🤤 morning/dinner meal also can add rice. 4 selection of dinner meal. 6. Walked right side to the bridge in the morning for sunrise, amazing took lots of nice photos! Quite a lot of people are waiting for sunrise as well 🌄 前一天晚上才订巴士票,seibu bus ikebukuro上巴士。回也是前一天晚上订回程巴士票,从河口湖到新宿南口。We took the bus and Reached Kawaguchiko station, walked to the bus station no.10 and luckily met up shuttle hotel bus of the new century hotel. We just checked in, dropped our luggage, walked to a nearby restaurant having a lunch meal set. then walked to a nearby cable car with a 10% discount from the hotel. During night time, the information counter closed, we took a nearby red color bus station to go back from kawaguchiko eki station back to the hotel. If Walking.. need 20min+.. Overall, a happy stay during my honeymoon trip! Hopefully I will stay in the hotel again! Appreciated for the people we met, sweet memories trip..

AAnonymous UserExtremely satisfied with this hotel, it exceeded my expectations! **Facilities:** I saw some guests mention the hotel being old, but actually, the facilities are excellent. Besides the distinctive tatami rooms and rooms facing Mount Fuji, there's also the hotel's special hot spring. The outdoor bath has such a great vibe, and it's real hot spring water – my skin felt so smooth afterwards. **Environment:** There are absolutely no issues with the hotel's environment, cleanliness, or rooms; it meets a four-star-plus standard. You can see a full view of Mount Fuji within a 3-minute walk from the hotel, with both sunrise and sunset clearly visible. **Dining:** The hotel's breakfast isn't particularly varied; I wouldn't recommend paying extra for it. Dinner, however, is highly recommended. It offers a good variety of Japanese specialties, and many people think it's much better than eating out. Some reviews recommend the Wheat restaurant in the hotel courtyard or the restaurant across the street, but the cost-effectiveness might not live up to expectations, and the actual standard could be quite different. **Service:** I didn't give five stars for service. The hotel's front desk offers Chinese service, and the Chinese staff are especially friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with no communication barriers. However, I was very dissatisfied with the restaurant staff, who I believe were Indian. Breakfast ends at 9:30 AM, and we thought we just needed to have our food by 9:30 AM and wouldn't get more. Instead, the server rudely told us to ”Go Out!” in an impolite manner while we were still eating our paid breakfast. These four stars are solely for the excellent front desk service. **Additional Notes:** If you have high standards for a hotel, want a hot spring experience, and wish to be close to Mount Fuji, this is an excellent choice. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highland and a few minutes from Kawaguchiko Bus Terminal, which is very convenient for returning to Tokyo or other places. The front desk service is fantastic; a big thank you to the Chinese lady at the front desk.
