Hotel near West Street/Kaiyuan Temple,Quanzhou
Jun Jing Mansion is located in Quanzhou, the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, and was carefully built by Quanzhou Wenlv Group. The residence is located at No.11 Tongzheng Lane, the cultural core area of Quanzhou Ancient City. Tongzheng Lane, where it is located, is known as a "civil-military alley". There are not only the remains of the governor's mansion, but also the ladies' dressing building, one of the existing buildings in Quanzhou. There is also a century-old ancestral temple that inherits Quanzhou puppet culture and is adjacent to core attractions such as Kaiyuan Temple and Bell Tower. Relying on the cultural background of overseas Chinese criticism in southern Fujian, the mansion presents Nanyang style as a whole. The graphic files of overseas Chinese criticism in the mansion can let you know more about the hardships of overseas entrepreneurship of Minnan people.

"The hotel is located in a pedestrian-only zone, so taxis can't reach the entrance. I hadn't researched this before my trip, and there's no elevator. However, the hotel's location is excellent. It's a 5-minute walk from Kaiyuan Temple, and right outside the alley, you can catch a 'Xiaobai' minibus to any attraction for 2 RMB per person. If you prefer a taxi, you'll need to walk to the intersection of Zhongshan Road (near the Bell Tower), which is about 300-400 meters away. The hotel's overall decor is Nanyang style. We had both a king-size and a twin room. Both rooms were quite clean and tidy. The lady at the front desk was amazing; she carried two carry-on suitcases for us!"

"The location is excellent, right on Zhongshan Middle Road, very close to West Street, Guandi Temple, Kaiyuan Temple, Confucian Temple, and many other attractions – all within a 15-minute walk. There are plenty of popular spots nearby, including great food and unique coffee shops. The hotel itself is very clean, and the service is excellent and very welcoming. The only minor downsides are that, perhaps due to its downtown location, the breakfast area is a bit small and the selection isn't huge. Also, it doesn't have a full range of public facilities like a gym or pool. However, these didn't detract from the overall stay experience, as the in-room facilities are quite new. I would definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Quanzhou."

"Quanzhou trip chose this homestay, cleanliness is the most important one, I am very satisfied with this, and secondly there is a sense of design, southern Fujian red bricks with green plants are very popular. Butler service is also very thoughtful. The location is in the north of the ancient city, and you can walk to Kaiyuan Temple and West Street through the alleys. Sleeping at night is also very quiet."

"A really nice B&B! The staff were super friendly and helpful, always offering to assist with luggage. They offer free coffee and Shihuagao (seaweed jelly), and in the restaurant, there's tea, candies, and beef jerky. Breakfast was delicious and you could get seconds if you wanted. The 'mianxian hu' (vermicelli paste) was very fresh and exactly to my taste. The location is also excellent, right next to the Confucius Temple. I visited Quanzhou from February 20th to February 22nd during the Chinese New Year and booked a Wuzi Shushui King Room for two nights. 1. **Great Location:** The guesthouse is conveniently located near the entrance of Jinyu Lane, making it easy to access nearby attractions, restaurants, and shops. I was initially worried about noise since it's in a bustling area, but it turned out to be surprisingly quiet – a perfect blend of 'tranquility in the midst of activity.' The guesthouse has two buildings, and the only downside is the lack of an elevator, so you'll get some extra steps in if you're on a higher floor. 2. **Well-equipped Facilities:** You can tell the guesthouse is thoughtfully decorated. The first floor has a lounge area with a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary drinks, water, tea bags, coffee, and toothbrushes for guests, available 24/7 for relaxation and socializing. Bottled water is also available for self-service in the corridor on the second floor, which is very convenient. The rooftop even has a balcony with chairs, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing, offering views of the unique surrounding architecture. The room itself isn't huge, but it has everything you need, and the large TV provides a great viewing experience. 3. **Excellent Service:** I have to praise the service! The guesthouse provided a complimentary ticket to a traditional Quanzhou opera puppet show at a small teahouse, as well as a voucher for a 'Zhanhua' (flower headdress) experience and cultural merchandise. (Warning: avoid 'Banzhi Space' for Zhanhua! 😡💢 I’ll explain why at the end.) When I returned to the guesthouse and explained the situation to the staff, they immediately contacted the owner of the Zhanhua shop and even took me to a nearby makeup and styling store, which was incredibly thoughtful. Overall, this guesthouse is definitely worth staying at! 😆 **P.S.:** Knowing it would be crowded during Chinese New Year, I wanted to experience Zhanhua in Quanzhou. So, half a month in advance, I contacted the Zhanhua shop that the guesthouse partners with to understand the local situation, booked a time for Zhanhua and makeup, and paid a deposit. 😡 I flew all the way here, put on a mask and washed my hair that morning, and arrived on time for my appointment. However, when I entered the shop, not a single staff member helped me with clothing or offered guidance. When I asked the owner why no one was assisting me, his response was lukewarm, saying, ”How am I supposed to recommend anything to you? Just look for what you want yourself; how would I know what you like?” The other staff members also seemed indifferent; I felt completely ignored. I had an appointment for 9 AM, but he had scheduled four other customers for the same time. He claimed he could get me ready within half an hour, but fifteen minutes had already passed. I asked, ”Are you sure?” The owner then hesitated and said, ”I can't guarantee it. I can refund your deposit after half an hour.” I was so exasperated I almost laughed. What's the point of making an appointment and paying a deposit then?! I was furious, and it completely messed up all my plans.

I rarely say this on my reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Minsu. When I come back to Quanzhou for another family holiday, I will book this place again. Firstly, the location: It is unbeatable. It is near enough to be in the midst of the action in Quanzhou (near the walking street, eateries, restaurants, shopping etc etc), yet very quiet for us to enjoy a good night’s rest, or a good conversation at night over tea. Second, the nice balance between an authentic cultural home and modernism. We had the entire Minsu to ourselves, 6 rooms in total. Renovated about 3-4 years ago, the Minsu gave us the experience of living in an authentic Chinese inn, yet the amenities were modern….comfortable beds, modern toilets, refrigerators available etc….The courtyards were also beautiful. The entire Minsu was tastefully done…..plus it was spotlessly clean. Thirdly, the owners. They were so friendly and helpful. They met us at the drop off point, and brought us to the Minsu when we checked in, helping to move some of our luggages (and they did the same thing when we checked out). They went out of their way to help purchase traditional puppet show (木偶) tickets (at a small discount somemore). After we checked out, my son left his hoodie in the room. The owners assisted to courier the jacket to the next city we were heading to (we were already in the train at that time). And lastly, every morning and every night, either Mr Du, his son or his daughter in law would invite us to join them for tea. They would then proceed to serve tea the traditional way, while having a conversation with us. They also taught us certain traditions, protocols and rules when serving tea. They have a cat called TangYuan (汤圆), in which the kids in the family enjoyed playing with. The only thing to note is that public transport (via taxis and buses) only can drop you off at a spot about 5min walk away. Also, they provide disposable towels, not the regular towels given at hotels. If it is an issue, just bring your own towels. Otherwise, this place deserves 5 out of 5 stars.

A very clean hotel, the service was great. As there are a big group of us checking in and was pretty late in the evening, they let us go to the room to have a rest while they are taking our passports details instead of waiting there. Also, they know that we come as a big family, so they have arranged us in the same floor. There are issues with my room’s door but they rectify pretty fast. Very spacious room. Super comfy mattress. Good selection of breakfast even for my vegetarian mum. The only thing need to be aware of would be the dryer, as it took a long time to dry the clothes, try to wash the clothes and dry them on your first day of arrival and make it early, otherwise it might not dry. Overall we are very satisfied with the stay, if we come to back YongChun again, we will definitely stay in this hotel again.

During my trip to Quanzhou, the most delightful experience was staying at Shangqing Tower, a traditional courtyard house from the Qing Dynasty's Guangxu period. This hundred-year-old courtyard building retains its original charm with old wooden beams, ancient window lattices, and a blue-brick courtyard, preserving the gentle spirit of Qing Dynasty Minnan architecture. It's not overly commercialized, offering a quiet, elegant, and deeply traditional atmosphere. Stepping into the courtyard instantly shields you from the hustle and bustle of West Street 🌿. The courtyard is serene and elegant, with lush greenery scattered about and dappled light creating a magical ambiance. Warm sunlight fills the courtyard during the day, and lanterns gently sway at night, creating an incredible atmosphere perfect for stunning ancient-style photos. The rooms maintain the traditional character of the ancient house while incorporating comfortable modern amenities. Staying in this century-old dwelling, falling asleep to the quietude of the ancient house, offers a true taste of Minnan's slow-paced life. A pleasant surprise was the guesthouse's breakfast! The ”Manjian Gao” (a traditional pancake) paired with peanut scrambled eggs is an authentic old-fashioned Minnan breakfast. The soft and sweet pancake combined with the warm and rich peanut scrambled eggs instantly unlocks the local flavors of Quanzhou. Its location is superb, right within the ancient city, within walking distance of West Street and Kaiyuan Temple. After exploring the ancient city, returning to sit in the courtyard, sipping tea, and enjoying the breeze – this is truly how a trip to Quanzhou should be enjoyed ✨. If you're visiting Quanzhou and want to avoid generic hotels, you absolutely must book this century-old courtyard guesthouse!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They provided useful itinerary suggestions, and food recommendations. As a foreign guest, the staff proactively shared their WeChat ID and it’s recommended to share yours as well, as they are cautious about scams. Communication through WeChat was smooth and very helpful. A RMB 200 deposit is required, but as a foreigner there was no issue with the transaction. They were also kind enough to help me operate the washing machine, which I really appreciated. The room was clean and well-kept. The bed was comfortable, and I especially liked the pillow—it suited my preference well. One small thing to note is that it took a bit of time to figure out how to maintain a consistent shower temperature, as it would sometimes be too hot or too cold. Also worth mentioning: part of my room had a low ceiling. You’ll need to be careful when standing up—I bumped my head a few times during my stay 😅. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience with very attentive service. I would still recommend this homestay, especially for travelers who value helpful staff and local guidance.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. One of the biggest highlights was the direct beach access, which made it very convenient for our family to enjoy the seaside throughout our stay. The breakfast offered a good variety of choices and was a great way to start our day. There were also plenty of food options within walking distance of the hotel, making it easy to find something for every meal. There were also kids club, indoor outdoor swimming pools, pool, pingpong etc in the hotel. We greatly appreciated the hotel’s flexibility in accommodating our late check-out request. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. A special mention goes to 小李 at the front desk, who was extremely helpful during both the check-in and check-out processes. She provided excellent service, patiently answered our questions, and even gave us souvenirs when we checked out, which was a thoughtful and memorable touch. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would gladly recommend this hotel to others.

Firstly, I want to emphasise that the hostel staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful. They helped me sort out a problem with my phone, shared their suggestions of places to visit, and helped me upgrade my room too. So 10/10 for the staff. To give a more honest review of the room though: Pros: The shared common room area is very spacious, and a great place to meet new friends. There are games and activities available, plus they often organised free social events like card game nights and movies. The dorm room was relatively spacious, with a desk space too. The beds have good privacy curtains. There are plug sockets by each bed for charging phones etc. Cons: The main issue I have with the dorm rooms is that there is a dedicated bathroom per room. This seems great, until you have a roommate who spends three full hours all morning recolouringtheir hair in there, while the rest of us can't use the toilet or shower. Other than that, I did feel that the location was a bit inconvenient (I had to drag my suitcase through some kind of dirty building site to get there, and it is about 15 mins walk from the main tourist area). Additionally, the beds were very uncomfortable (they've used foam mattesss toppers on wooden boards, with no actual mattress) and didn't have a shelf next to the bed or any storage lockers for bags. Also the hostel didn't provide towels for dorm room guests (which is usually standard). After the issue with the roommate hogging the bathroom (who also snored all night too...) I asked to pay the difference to upgrade to a private room. The hostel happily arranged this without any issues, and even prepared the room for me to move into early. This private room was much better - a proper mattress, towels provided, etc. It was a bit noisy when the neighbour turned on their air conditioning (since the unit was right outside the window), but other than that I have no complaints.

Time flies when you're having fun, and my trip to this thousand-year-old Quanzhou city has come to an end. What I'll remember most is choosing 2208 Inn, which boasts a fantastic location on the busiest street in Quanzhou's city center. The West Gate of the famous Kaiyuan Temple is just across the road from the inn. From my room at the inn, I could open the window and gaze at the beautiful night silhouette of Quanxi Hall on West Street. I could also hear the bustling crowds of West Street from outside my window. Day or night, the ancient city's streets are lined with a dazzling array of local snacks and delicacies – think Mianxian paste, Ginger Duck, Fujianese crispy pork, with famous eateries right next door. If you want a taste, just head downstairs; they're just a few steps away. Xunpu flower-wearing shops are also everywhere. If you want to try wearing the flowers, just go downstairs, and you can instantly transform into a beautiful flower-wearing girl. What brought me the most joy was the genuine conversations I had with the inn staff every time I returned. The front desk's handsome and dedicated customer service representative, the proprietress's beautiful smile, and the cleaning auntie's meticulousness and hard work all exemplify the inn's warm and thoughtful hospitality. Thank you all for giving me such wonderful memories of the ancient city. It makes me recall: in this thousand-year-old city, in this little alley corner, I unexpectedly encountered your vibrant, almost divine, warmth and vitality. It makes me miss the moment the pigeons flew past the Twin Pagodas of Kaiyuan Temple in the morning, the fragrant misty aroma of Tieguanyin tea in an old teahouse in the afternoon, and the golden glow of the sunset over Jinjiang River. Encounters are always brief! I've already made a promise with you – if I ever come to Quanzhou again, I will undoubtedly choose 2208 Inn without hesitation. As the year draws to a close and a new one begins, I wish the inn even greater prosperity and a booming year ahead!

Let’s talk about transportation first: Take a taxi to the Quanzhou hotel and walk to the mansion in five or six minutes. Let’s talk about the surroundings: There are many small restaurants in the surrounding area. It is more than ten minutes away from West Street and the Confucian Temple, and about twenty minutes away from Kaiyuan Temple. You can walk in the alleys to see the history and appreciate the cultural heritage. Detailed description of the mansion: The service staff knows the check-in time before the guests check in, and turns on the electric heater in the room in advance to increase the indoor temperature. Good service 👍 The room is larger than expected. Although the window is a bit small, the seating area and work area are sufficient. Economical price👍 The furnishings in the public areas of the mansion basically retain the ancient home style, fully demonstrating the interactive integration of multiple cultures. Unique style👍 Let’s talk about the shortcomings: There were a lot of mosquitoes in the room on the first floor. It was still raining in Quanzhou in early March, and people almost froze to death, but the mosquitoes were not dead🙄️ The temperature of the hot water was not quite high, and it was not very hot even after being left there for a long time. Because it was quite late, I did not contact the service staff. Maybe other rooms do not have this problem. Cats can be more friendly😄

I went to Quanzhou with my friends and booked a three-bedroom homestay. The location is good, the room is big and very quiet. The bathroom is not very good, a little small, and it is inconvenient for two people to use it at the same time, one to take a shower and the other to blow dry their hair. After all, it is a bit inconvenient to have the toilet sink and the shower together for three rooms. Overall it is not bad, I recommend it.
