"Passing through Sanjiang, this last-minute booking turned out to be a wonderful surprise. We received a complimentary room upgrade, and the view from the window was stunning. A thoughtful touch was a book in the room about the local Sanjiang Dong ethnic group, offering insights into their culture. Children's toothbrushes and slippers were also thoughtfully provided. The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety of options; we particularly enjoyed trying the local specialty, Sanjiang Youcha, which was quite good. Xiao Yang at the front desk provided exceptional service, and the two staff members in the restaurant were also incredibly helpful. Their service truly deserves high praise! We would definitely stay here again on our next visit."

"The room was impeccably clean, and the bedding was super comfortable. We contacted our butler in advance, who thoughtfully pre-cooled the room and filled the jacuzzi, so we could enjoy a relaxing soak immediately upon arrival. The bellhop even took the time to show us how to use the hot tub. Watching the sunset in the evening and the sunrise over a sea of clouds in the morning was simply breathtaking! The guesthouse restaurant served excellent dinner and breakfast, meaning we didn't have to venture down the mountain for meals, allowing us more time to soak in the beautiful views. We'll definitely be back!"

"When traveling from Guilin to Guizhou, I passed through Sanjiang County and chose the Dongxiang State Guesthouse. "I traveled with my family and carefully planned our trip, choosing to visit Chengyang Eight Villages. The experience was fantastic; there was no commercial marketing, and you could genuinely see the lives of the local Dong people. Staying at Nanyi Homestay was the best choice we made during our trip. The stilted houses here perfectly preserve the authentic way of life. The owners, Lao Liang and Xiao Chen, were incredibly welcoming, and the food was super delicious, especially the local duck – I highly recommend trying it! The breakfast was also plentiful, and they even booked a ”Hundred Families Banquet” for us. We felt the warmth and hospitality of the Dong people. It was my first time escaping the hustle and bustle of the city to such a tranquil and secluded little world. The hospitality of the people of Guangxi was truly touching. I will definitely come back again. I wish the owners great success in their business and all the best."

"The new house has the smell of wood, but no strange smell. It has floor-to-ceiling windows, and you can be awakened by the sounds of birds singing, flowing water, and roosters crowing in the early morning. Outside the window are rice fields and the Dong village. The room is very clean and there is mountain spring water nearby, from which everyone in the village gets water. When I left, I forgot my charger and facial cleanser, so the lady boss sent them to me. She is a very nice and welcoming person."

"The location is fantastic, right by the Wind-Rain Bridge, allowing you to fully enjoy the famous bridge from the balcony and windows.
The hygiene is excellent. The room comes with a sterilizing cabinet for self-sterilizing teaware and bowls. The bathroom is equipped with disposable toilet seat covers, and you can also use the alcohol wipes provided by the owner for disinfection. There are also disposable towels, showing great consideration for hygiene.
The tables, chairs, and bed frames in the guesthouse are all made of raw wood, which is very unique. You can tell a lot of thought went into it.
The guesthouse doesn't include breakfast. It was raining that day, so we couldn't go out to eat. We asked the landlady to cook us a few bowls of lean pork noodles with greens and fried eggs. When it was time to pay, she insisted on not charging us. She said that there was an issue with the hot water the night before, and a technician from the county didn't fix it until after 11 PM. She felt sorry for us and said that a few bowls of noodles couldn't make up for it. Her sincerity was truly touching.
We'll definitely stay at Sanjiang Drum Tower Guesthouse again next time."

"Our stay at Sanjiang Juyoulou Inn was great and the Inn owners are a sweet, amazing couple that helped us out a lot!
We wanted to learn about the local handcraft and the owner helped us to organise a lesson in Chinese embroidery through some of his contacts, which was so cool! They also helped us to book places for the banquet and the festivities at the drum tower, which, through a collab, is also cheaper than if we had booked them ourselves :)
On our last day, we left for the rice terraces in a even more rural area, and the owner explained us exactly - with a sweet hand-written note - how to get there with the different busses we needed to take. He also drove us to the first bus stop in his personal car for free. Amazing and kind people, a beautiful room and a nice view :)"

"I was quite disappointed when I first arrived at Chengyang Eight Villages. It was a Friday, and I was told there was no 'Baijia Banquet' (Hundred Family Feast). Plus, besides us, there were no other tourists in the scenic area. I thought this trip would be incredibly boring and dull. Coming with a group of friends, I wasn't sure what we could even do, and I didn't want to spend more money on tickets for a bonfire party.
The owner of the guesthouse, Mr. Yang, recommended we book a farmhouse bonfire party. We could eat at a Dong family's home with local performances and toasts, costing about 100-200 yuan per person. Alternatively, we could eat at the guesthouse and have locals come perform, which would be cheaper.
We decided to eat at the guesthouse at 7:30 pm. After exploring three villages, it was perfect timing for dinner. The Dong sisters were already waiting for us, serving us with great enthusiasm and politeness. Everyone ate and drank to their heart's content that evening. (The guesthouse food is all homemade by the landlady, with very fresh and delicious ingredients, and the liquor is also excellent – you can try it first). We had a wonderful time with the Dong sisters; we really bonded! Their singing is truly beautiful and captivating. Even my usually reserved husband was swept up in the fun! My friend asked if we could dance, and they taught us their traditional dances.
The guesthouse rooms are spacious. We rented a twin room and a triple room (which was huge!). Our room had a view of the bridge. The guesthouse is located in Yan Village, very close to the other two villages and the Yongji Bridge (which has a very interesting and fun welcoming ceremony). My husband drank too much and managed to clog the basin, but the owner wasn't upset and unclogged it for him. The facilities in local guesthouses aren't as modern as city hotels, after all, we were staying in an ancient building. I found the room very clean, the bathroom had everything needed, and the towels had no strange odors.
The landlady also suggested we go for a traditional ethnic costume photoshoot the next morning, costing 50 yuan per person (outfit + makeup) or 30 yuan without makeup. The young lady at the ethnic costume shop was very professional and patient. There were many costume choices, and the materials were excellent. Everyone looked beautiful, and many people on the street kept taking photos with us.
Finally, my friends all had a wonderful time and were happy with their purchases. The owners also gave us discounts on souvenirs and tea (we got to sample the tea, and the recommended ones were delicious). The next day, the same Dong sisters who came last night served us lunch, and we had another delightful meal. The landlady also helped us find a 7-seater car to take our group of five to the high-speed train station (for 80 yuan).
What I initially thought would be a dull trip turned out to be the most enjoyable and relaxing part of our 7 days in Guangxi (including Yangshuo and the rice terraces)!
**Previously, due to other reviews, I had doubts about the landlady's cooking! After the landlady's repeated assurances, we decided to try the first lunch. To my surprise, the ingredients were incredibly high-quality. Even my friend who dislikes eggplant ate a lot, and I, who doesn't eat potatoes, ate quite a bit. The meat was so delicious that we ordered ribs for every meal! Although the beef wasn't tender, it was very fragrant and fresh! We just weren't used to the cured meat, and the luosifen (snail noodles) could be skipped. The landlady seasoned everything perfectly; we didn't feel thirsty afterward, and the flavors suited both our Malaysian and British palates. Consequently, we ended up having three more meals at the guesthouse."

Sanjiang Drum Tower is next to it, there are two wind and rain bridges one kilometer each, the night view is special, the room is clean and bright, the mattress is soft and comfortable, 24 hours hot water, elevators are all equipped, and the stay is super worry-free. The location of the homestay is superb, natural oxygen bar, suitable for holiday leisure and relaxation, daze and relaxation. The proprietress is a typical Guangxi woman, hardworking and pragmatic, the room hygiene is cleaned by herself, the room is clean and tidy, and the bedding is clean and comfortable. It's very close to Yanzhai Drum Tower, within walking distance, making it extremely convenient for getting around. The owner was very welcoming and hospitable, providing detailed information about the surrounding attractions. The rooms were clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. The biggest surprise was that there was a small stream next to the guesthouse; waking up to the sound of flowing water in the morning was incredibly relaxing. It was a very pleasant stay, highly recommended!

You can't drive in, you have to park at the entrance of the scenic area and then buy a ticket to enter. You can ask the boss lady to help you buy it in advance. It is cheaper than the scenic area or the platform. I stayed in 401. The room environment is average. It is opposite the elevator entrance, so it is a bit noisy, but you can still fall asleep if you are tired. There is a rooftop to dry clothes. The boss lady has a good attitude and a good temper. You can ask her if you don't understand.

It was pretty good. The guesthouse's location is excellent, right in the village, making it convenient to go anywhere. The hygiene was good; I didn't see any hair on the bed, unlike other guesthouses and hotels I've stayed in where, despite being cleaned, there always seems to be hair on the bed. The bedding was also cozy and comfortable, which was great.

This time I came to Sanjiang and stayed at Guangyuezun Hotel, which was unexpectedly good! The transportation is convenient. You can take the bus directly from the high-speed rail station. It takes more than ten minutes to walk to Doye Square, the Bird's Nest and Sanjiang Wind and Rain Bridge in the county center. The interior environment of the hotel is also very elegant, reflecting the Dong style everywhere, giving people a different kind of warmth. The room is big, soundproofed, and cleaned promptly. I stayed there for two nights and still felt like I hadn't stayed long enough. Whether it is the front desk or the staff, they have a good attitude and treat guests like family, which left a deep impression on our group of four! Next time I have the chance to come to Sanjiang again, Guangyuezun will be my first choice!

The boss at the front desk personally took us to park. Travel is very convenient, this store is five minutes away from Sanjiang Dagulou, and Sanjiang's largest ancient wooden construction bridge: (Yiyang Bridge),
The rooms in the inn are clean and tidy, the layout is warm and comfortable, the large floor-to-ceiling windows have a great view, the air conditioning and water heater are also great.

Right after crossing Yongji Bridge, this hotel is nestled in the heart of the village. It's incredibly convenient for visiting the Drum Tower and other attractions in Ma'an Village. The hotel has an elevator, which is a huge plus for guests with luggage. Each room boasts a unique style, and the views from the top floor are absolutely stunning. They even have smart toilets and Dyson hairdryers. Plus, disposable towels and other amenities are provided. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
