This is where we hang out a good bit and another great place to relax and enjoy the wildlife. The canal is nice and quiet and you will see all different kinds of animals. There are no houses across the canal so when you are out back it is nice and private. Also, there are not many houses past the mermaid house so very little boat traffic. Great to let the kids use the kayaks or paddleboard and explore the canal.We have a gas grill under the tiki, a gas fire pit with chairs, a fish cleaning station and fresh water for cleaning the catch or the boat out on the end of the fixed dock. There is power and a large lights useful for when you get back late on the boat. The two floating docks are perfect to tie your boat (can accommodate two boats) and launch the kayaks/paddleboards.Again we have six kayaks for your use....two smaller ones, for kids or teens, three large single and a tandem kayak. We are minutes away from the heart of Scalloping which runs July 1st to September 24th and Manatee watching can happen at our dock in the fall/winter and early spring. Other activities at/or around us include Kayaking, Paddleboarding, Golf, Bicycling, Beach, Tennis, Snorkeling, Nature Trails, Horseback Riding, Shopping or just relaxing by our screened POOL at the house. Airboat Rides are amazing in our freshwater preserves in Floral City, Inverness or here on Crystal River. We are located about 1 1/2 hours from Orlando as well as the Tampa/Clearwater Beaches. Our small local beach here in Crystal River is just about 4 miles from the house. Homosassa State Wildlife Park is about 10 miles away and Rainbow River is about 30 minutes away. Weeki Wachee is about 30 minutes away. The Natural Springs are some of the most beautiful water spots in Florida. Our local Restaurants have amazing fresh seafood. You are overlooking a Crystal clear waterway that leads to the Halls River. The River runs thru several lakes on its way to the Homosassa River then to the Gulf of Mexico. Good fishing in crystal clear water right off your patio. Bass, Bluegill, Mullet, Porgy, Sheepshead & stingrays are some of many different varieties that frequent the area. The cottage is a great area for sight seeing, manatee, porpoise, otters, turtles and stingrays frequent the waterways off your dock. Several great blue heron, ibis, many bard owls and wood storks also frequent your back yard. Just recently we’ve had a white peacock that visits every couple of days. We’ve named her princess. She is just beautiful !! There are also a great variety of birds in the area and most of our waterways are bird sanctuaries . You have a dock for a small boat and plenty of room to park your boat and trailer. The cottage comes complete with life vests, 4 person paddle boat, 2 kayaks and a canoe. A lovely yard that is fenced on 2 sides has water on the other two sides.
