"My partner and I had a lovely stay at The George. Lovely dinner - good range on the menu including lots of alcohol free drink options. The bed was really comfortable and it was a lovely cozy room with great amenities. Lovely location - Dorchester is beautiful! We loved the community farm just up the road with a lovely cafe and alpacas among others. Lovely countryside surrounding Dorchester and lovely cycle route to Oxford on the NCR5. Thanks George Hotel for a lovely stay!"

"Everything was okay with the facilities. The terrible downside was the disgusting view outside the window. When I went back to the front desk to ask for a room change, without even looking at the computer screen, they immediately told me they were fully fully booked. When brushing my teeth and washing my face, looking at such a scene, I got the illusion that I was getting dirtier and dirtier. Totally unacceptable. There was also liquid left in the kettle, clearly not cleaned."

"This is a hotel converted from an old castle prison. It is very innovative. There are two types of rooms. One is a room converted from two cells, and the other is a normal room. The window of the room converted from the cell is a small upper window like in the prison. The normal room I booked has a balcony. It depends on everyone's preference. The room has a coffee machine and a towel heating rod. The shower room is small and the button area is large, but it takes some skills to press it. The first time I pressed it for a long time, it didn't trigger. The air conditioning in my room was slightly insufficient, but the hotel service staff actively solved the problem. The overall service was very warm and thoughtful, sharing town maps and so on, so despite the slight inconvenience, I still like the style and service of this hotel. The breakfast is also good, and the black pudding is awesome. In addition, some rooms have stairs in addition to the elevator. If you have large luggage, you can try to contact the hotel to use the small elevator, as shown in the last picture"

"1) I love Old Bank! I stayed there for a week. 2) I loved it so much that I extended my stay at the hotel reception for another day, only to find it was significantly more expensive than the price I booked through Ctrip. It seems Ctrip is still the best choice for booking overseas hotels. 3) I hope Ctrip can improve the interactive review experience for customers. Actually, before I booked this hotel, I saw a comment below from a guest who left their luggage at the hotel, but didn't open it and went straight to the airport to check it in. Upon returning to China, they discovered their valuables were missing from their luggage. They assumed it must have been stolen while they were checking it in at the hotel. I really wanted to reply to that comment, but unfortunately, I can't. It's highly likely that the guest's luggage was stolen at the airport. I don't know if their flight back to China has a connecting flight; if so, the chances are even higher. This is far more likely than the hotel staff opening your checked luggage and taking your belongings. You might have been more effective if you contacted the airline and the airport immediately. I've experienced this myself. Overall, I think the chances of this happening at Old Bank are very low."

"The room was lovely, quiet, nice shower, with the great addition of the air conditioning. The breakfast was very disappointing. Cold and not a great deal of choice. I would have liked to have seen Greek yoghurt not Greek style yoghurt and also granola. The swimming pool was very small, as were the sauna and steam room. The health club assistant on the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Location was great and we loved walking along the canal to Oxford City Centre. Overall 8/10 😊"

"The talkhouse was a really homely accommodation right outside of Oxford. The room was exactly like the pictures. The staff were incredibly helpful and I must say the showers is probably one of the best I’ve had in the uk. (Proper water pressure, temperature and drainage so I’m not swimming in my own filth). Also have a drink or dinner at the pub, it’s seems to be a popular favourite amongst the locals as well. One thing to note for light sleepers, the rooms are side by side so you might hear your neighbours & it is right by the road so you’ll be able to hear vehicles at busier times."

GGuest UserA special thanks to Emily for her excellent service. She responded to my emails quickly and handled my requests with great care. We had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and thoughtfully prepared. The hotel has a charming, castle-like vintage style, and the surroundings are lovely. The breakfast and dinner and lunch were also great—highly recommended! Thanks again, Emily! We love staying at Voco! My 2nd time, love it!

AAnonymous UserConveniently located near bus and subway stops. It's quite busy every day with many guests, and the dining area is no exception. There are four identical dining sections, so you can pick up food from any of them, which means no waiting in line. The food is Western, and those who know, know it's quite edible. Regarding the room, I saw comments saying the rooms were small, so I booked a 26-square-meter one. However, the two beds were positioned awkwardly, not like in the pictures, and I really doubt it was 26 square meters. They let me check in at 11 AM; I'm not sure if it was because I checked in early or if 26 square meters just feels this small, like a building's gross area in China? There was no toothpaste, toothbrush, conditioner, slippers, small soap, tissues, or bottled water. I'm not sure if these items are available upon request. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily.

SShawnPlenty of parking available, but if there's a home game for Oxford United in the evening, parking can be a hassle since the stadium is right next door. Breakfast includes homemade waffles and all the usual options, primarily a full English breakfast, and the coffee is excellent. The room feels cramped with a sofa bed. It's about a 15-minute drive to Oxford University or the shopping center, and Bicester Village is around 30 minutes away.

GGuest Userlove this Hotel stayed many times . just a few issues on this visit that didn’t quite get the excellent for me  The aircon on the room wasn’t working I phoned the desk and was told it’s on Heating mode only turn it off and start it again we did but the guy on the desk was unhelpful. also the breakfast was a little lacking this visit we went down at 9.20 and most of the rolls muffins and pastries had gone no bagels and the eggs fried were hard normally there is a menu where you can choose fresh eggs etc but as they had a corporate event on that was not operating so despite a heft y price for the breakfast we didn’t get a very good one . Other than that the service from all staff i. bar ,Reception especially Telma and Phil was excellent

GGuest Uservery nice boutique hotel with a good bar and restaurant below. The room nice, clean, minimalist but good furniture and decent shower. Only one complaint - if you are not a fan of capsule coffee (and I am definitely not) and you just want a cup of tea, it's a pain to have to google the coffee machine to work out how to use it when just a simple kettle would have been fine. Just 4 for the location because of the chaos at the Botley road bridge which is going on till this time next year at least! Lovely breakfast menu with good service.

GGuest UserWe were attending a wedding in Oxford and the city centre hotels were very expensive. The reviews for the Black Boy were good so we booked.  It was a joy to stay here and we had a fabulous weekend..  Great location - about 10 mins in taxi from centre and bus stop about 5 mins or so walk.  Buses went to the city centre and railway station.  The room was lovely, as were the welcoming staff.  Breakfasts were very good and the pub had a nice atmosphere and an outside garden area.  Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oxford.

GGuest UserClose to the station and Oxford University, walking attractions are all done. The breakfast is rich and affordable. The room is also very good, spacious and comfortable. The only two dissatisfaction: 1. The old house has no elevator, there is a suitcase to move upstairs, the stairs are particularly narrow. 2. The front desk has to press the credit card 💳. I was afraid of being stolen and wanted to press cash to be rejected. I couldn't stay without giving him a visa credit card message. I was deadlocked for a while. I used the elderly card to press the message and locked the card directly. I don't know why it is so rigid.

GGuest UserWe loved staying at the Mad hatter. The location is only 10-15 mins from the city centre, staff was ever so helpful, and the room is very atmospheric, it felt incredibly lush without being over the top and tacky. The room was very clean and felt brand new. Only downside is the karaoke bar downstairs, but they kindly provide earplugs and anyway it stops early. We would definitely book it again.

LLigangI came to the UK for 12 days this time. This is my first time writing a review because I want to tell everyone not to step on the pit. 1. The hotel is newly opened and the location is very convenient. It is next to Trinity College and the commercial street. It is convenient for eating and playing. 2. The hotel room is large in this location because all the facilities are new and relatively complete. The corridor is a bit like a maze, and there are four doors to the room. 3. I want to complain that parking is inconvenient. You have to go to the parking lot of the nearby shopping mall. The navigation basically can't get downstairs, so you need to find it slowly by yourself. 4. Check in on August 1, 2024. The hotel is newly renovated. The smell is very strong and choking. The window of the room cannot be opened, and the smell cannot be released. It feels like a human filter for a night. The smell is so strong that you can't open your eyes🥵 5. Be sure to pay attention to the toilet button in the hotel bathroom. It is easy to get your hand pinched when you press it. I was pinched. Due to language problems, I did not negotiate with the hotel. If I were in China, I should have stayed for free.
