The George Street Hotel

The George Street Hotel ★★★★★

📍 15-19 George St, Oxford

"The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and the room was comfortable and tidy. The location is very convenient, close to Oxford city centre, making it easy to explore the city on foot or by public transport. The hotel has a slightly vintage / traditional style, which gives it some character, though it may feel a bit old-fashioned for guests who prefer a more modern design. One thing to note is that there is no free parking available, and the hotel does not offer on-site parking spaces. If you’re travelling by car, you’ll need to arrange nearby paid parking in advance. Overall, a clean and well-located hotel with a classic feel, but not ideal if you’re driving."

📍 Peartree Roundabout, Woodstock Rd, Oxford

"We went back to the hotel after our morning flight and checked in. We had to pay a little extra, but it was reasonable. I had just laid down to catch up on sleep when the cleaning staff opened the door directly. It scared the living daylights out of me!"

Room was satisfactory, shower needed some cleaning attention. The people above us were quite noisy. We did not eat at restaurant in the evening just had breakfast, slow service for drinks not impressed with options very disappointing. No interaction with reception staff."

Cotswold Lodge Hotel

Cotswold Lodge Hotel ★★★★

📍 66A Banbury Rd, Park Town, Oxford

"I stayed in an executive room, which was quite spacious. The room was very simple and comfortable. I needed to add a small table in the room for work, and the waiter was very quick to help me solve it. The breakfast was OK, the bread was good, but the breakfast did not change after staying for six or seven days. There was no air conditioning, but a small electric fan was provided. The temperature was quite high during the few days I stayed there, and the window in the room could be opened very small. So the room was stuffy, and even if the temperature outside dropped, the ventilation was not good, and the temperature in the room was still high. This was a bit unbearable."

"It's about 1km from the train station. Christ Church, the inspiration for Harry Potter, is just an 8-minute walk away. Sam, the owner, is a local and happy to offer recommendations on where to go."

easyHotel Oxford ★★★
"The hotel was nice for the budget we spent it was only a 10 minute bus journey to from the center of Oxford which was convenient. The lady at the check in desk was very helpful with us. The room was no thrills but did the job we wanted. Would definitely stay here again if we're in the area."

Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel ★★★★
"Not really the hotel’s fault, but I stayed during the heatwave and the temperature in the rooms were unbearable, I didn’t sleep at all. They did provide a fan but it wasn’t effective. It’s an older hotel, a bit worn down and parts of it didn’t smell great walking through the hallways."
