"This place is really close to Fanjing Mountain's East Gate, just a few minutes' drive, making it super convenient for hiking. The owner was very helpful and answered all our questions. There's a suspension bridge nearby, and if you walk a bit further, you'll find a local market. We were lucky enough to catch it on market day! I bought six lemon-like oranges and a bunch of bananas for 30 yuan. I even had a local lady ask me how much I paid for them. When I told her, she just walked off, seemingly quite pleased – I guess I paid the 'tourist price'!"

"I traveled alone to Tongren for the Spring Festival, expecting it to be a bit lonely, but I unexpectedly encountered the warmest New Year's Eve at Huazhu Homestay.
The landlady, seeing I was staying alone, warmly invited me to have New Year's Eve dinner with her. A table full of authentic Tongren dishes, along with fragrant baijiu from Maotai Town, filled the air with the joy of sharing a meal. It truly felt like celebrating the New Year at relatives' home. This unexpected kindness was more touching than any scenery.
The next day, I went to Fanjingshan. The landlady meticulously consulted me about the day's activities and explained the route, even more detailed than a travel guide. In the morning, Aunt Xiang cooked breakfast fresh, and the local specialty rice noodles warmed me from head to toe. Returning in the evening, a charcoal fire was lit on the first floor of the homestay, where we could gather around to brew tea and chat—the crackling charcoal, the fragrant tea, the unfamiliar night outside the window, and the warmth of family all around.
The landlady is beautiful inside and out, providing meticulous and professional service. This homestay wasn't just a place to stay; it felt like home in Tongren. Next time I come, I'll definitely stay here again!"

Since it was off-season, we even got a complimentary upgrade to their most luxurious suite. Butler No. 02 provided excellent service; he proactively helped carry our luggage to the room and even assisted us with a Fanjing Mountain travel itinerary. "Just got back from Fanjingshan and I *have* to rave about Homyue Resort! Its location is absolutely superb – just a 10-minute drive from the Fanjingshan scenic area, and Yunshe Ancient Town is within easy walking distance. It was incredibly convenient to return to the hotel after a day of exploring.
We booked a river view room, and opening the balcony door revealed beautiful views of the Taiping River. Waking up to the sound of birds in the morning was so much more pleasant than an alarm clock. The room was quite spacious, and the bathroom's wet/dry separation was impeccably clean – even I, who am quite particular about cleanliness, couldn't find a single fault.
The breakfast spread was quite varied, with Western options like bread and coffee readily available. It certainly fueled us up perfectly for our hike up Fanjingshan. On evenings when we didn't feel like eating out, we ordered the sour soup fish at the hotel restaurant. It was incredibly authentic, and the staff were so thoughtful, even reminding us that we could request less spice.
A special mention must go to their outdoor pool – it was incredibly refreshing to take a dip after hiking, and the water temperature was perfect. There's also a lounge area nearby where you can grab a drink. On our departure day, as we had an early bus to catch, the front desk kindly helped us arrange a taxi. The driver arrived punctually, and we weren't delayed in the slightest.
The only minor drawback might be that it can get a bit busy on weekends, so you might need to go for breakfast a bit earlier. However, the overall experience genuinely exceeded our expectations. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Fanjingshan!"

"A very satisfying trip! Because the guesthouse I originally booked was under renovation, the owner upgraded me to another place he owns, Dianzui Pavilion, for free. It's right by the roadside, the room was nicely decorated and very new, the amenities were high-end, the bed was just the right firmness, and the location was very convenient, close to the east gate of the scenic area. Fanjingshan is beautiful. There weren't many people at that time of year. I arrived at the scenic area entrance at 7:30 am, took the first tourist bus at 8:00 am, the first cable car, and was the first to climb to the Mushroom Rock – it was amazing! The sky was perfect; I reached both the Red Cloud Golden Summit and the Old Golden Summit. Not tiring at all, it was so beautiful! A perfect solo trip!"

GGuest UserThe environment of the B&B is very good, and the decoration of the room is exactly the same as in the pictures, very beautiful! The room is also super big, and there is a swimming pool outside. The water is very clean and cool. It feels like it flows directly from the mountains. You can play in the water! Because we are in the mountains, it will be a bit humid, but there is an electric blanket on the bed. You can turn it on to warm it up before going to bed~
There is also breakfast in the morning. Although it is not as rich as the hotel buffet, it is freshly cooked by the aunt and is also very fresh and delicious😋
It is also very close to Fanjing Mountain. It only takes three minutes by car. After telling the boss about the time, he will send you there. When you return to Tongren city later, you can also ask the boss to book a taxi for you!
The boss's service attitude is really great! I highly recommend everyone to stay here. If the itinerary was not so full, I could really stay for two more days🥰

LLea1212The jiuyue Qisu guesthouse was stunning. We had a room with a river view. The river runs just outside the room. The rooms were sophisticated and stylish, spotlessly clean. Real coffee was at reception, as were a small variety of drinks, and small snacks. Local restaurants a few metres away. The owners and staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming, without being overwhelming. Definitely the highlight of our trip to fanjinshan, which was only a ten minute drive away. A beautiful place to relax and breath the fresh mountain air on the edge of the park.

MMengmenghensongThe butler service at Fanjingshan Yunshe Courtyard is absolutely top-notch. Even before check-in, they proactively sent warm reminders and travel guides. Upon arrival, they helped with luggage and offered locally brewed welcome tea. When the weather turned cold, they brought extra blankets without us asking. Any requests were promptly handled, and their 24/7 attentiveness made us feel right at home.
The village where the courtyard is located, Yunshe Village, is truly a fairyland. Known as the 'First Tujia Village in China,' it's framed by green mountains, with the Longtan River winding through. Tujia wooden houses are reflected in the water, and flagstone paths connect fields and homes. There's no commercial hustle and bustle, just ducks and geese swimming, and windmills turning. Strolling through, the natural beauty and slow pace allow for complete relaxation.

GGuest UserIt was such a surprise find at Fanjingshan. The rooms are big with modern facilities including toilet seat sensor. The inn also has a lift for those with big luggages and don’t want to climb the stairs with them, a feature that is not in all the inns around.
We have such a comfortable stay, even if it was just for a night. We took a didi to the inn in the evening and in the morning, the owner drove us to the gate of Fanjingshan to purchase the tickets. He also offered to pick us up when we are done for the day at fjs. He also helped us to engage a driver who drove us to fenghuang ancient town for a fair price based on our cab fare from Tongren to fjs. I will definitely recommend this inn which is also new, opened in March 2023.

GGuest UserIf you want to be up at Fanjingshan before the crowds arrive, staying at Longting Courtyard is the right decision.
When you artived at Fanjingshan Tourist centre, Longting boss will pick you up and bring you to buy the entrance ticket for tomorrow hike. And then bring you to Longting Courtyard to check in.
Next morning, the lady boss will cook up a bowl of delicious noodles soup for you to fuel up. Then the boss will bring you to check in at the Entrance. After that you will board the sight seeing shuttle bus up to the cable car station.
Fanjingshan is all yours to explore before the crowds arrive.
If you need transport from Tongren Railway Station to Fanjingshan Tourist centre, Longting lady boss will provide you with the driver contact number. One way is 35 yuan.
The room is comfortable and spacious enough for us and they are clean.
We are happy with our choice of staying at Longting.

GGuest UserThis was the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on! I had the best nights sleep. The room was really lovely, the bathroom had everything you could want. The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the front desk. She was really lovely, but gave me incorrect information on when the last bus left Tongren - she said it was 4pm but when I arrived at 5:30pm I was still able to get one. I also didn’t get any info on shortcuts etc that the other reviews mentioned, which is a big part of the reason I booked this place.

We opted for this hotel for the gorgeous courtyard type of layout. The hotel deserves the attention and my lengthy review as the architect/ designer has such an exquisite taste which shows off in the smallest details. The select of burl wood trims with marble patterns, stylish lighting fixtures…
Rooms are spacious and full of technology. Bathroom with heat floor and even ironized glass which offers instant privacy with a click of a button.
This hotel alone is worth couple nights of stay where one could plan a getaway from the city life and fully immerse themselves in the hotel’s garden trails.
This hotel is great for tourists who prioritize monetary value as It’s essentially a five star luxury resort for a fraction of the price.
However, for those who enjoy a slower pace and a peaceful atmosphere away from the busy tourisy area it offers more.
This hotel had become an integral part of my spiritual retreat escaping city and exploring the FANJING mountain area.

MM340364****Peeling paint and mold were the less serious drawbacks of this place.
When we checked in, we booked two rooms at different price points, but the hotel assigned us the cheaper one. After we complained, they claimed it was for our convenience.
Secondly, I booked a room for my parents that included breakfast, but why did the hotel charge them for breakfast in the morning? My parents called me, and I quickly clarified that their room included breakfast, and only then was they not charged.
The stay was extremely poor, and the hygiene was appalling.
