"The hotel is located on the hillside of the lake area, manor-style, beautiful appearance, with a garden and large lawn, the environment is beautiful. Originally booked a classic twin room, after considering such a good environment, I still enjoyed it, so I looked at the picture and added money to book a club twin room. I was very looking forward to it. As a result, I was disappointed when I went upstairs. First of all, the elevator went to the first floor (the second floor in China), and our room was on the second floor. So the chartered driver who can work hard for Trip.com helped us take the box, and then after entering the door, I found that it was completely different from the picture. It was worse than the classic twin room we originally booked. There was a sofa, no coffee table, no desk and chair, and the service desk negotiated. The front desk staff was busy with restaurant service. So every time I asked him to ring the bell and wait, and I denied that there was a mistake. I insisted that the picture on Trip.com was wrong. What was given to us was the club twin room. There were no other rooms at present, so I could helpless stay and spent the worst night of the 16 nights of the trip. Fortunately, later Trip.com came forward to coordinate the refund of the difference and made corresponding compensation. We are still satisfied with the after-care work of Trip.com ."

"Overall, it's pretty good. The decor has a bit of an American style, giving it a warm and cozy feel. The view from the window is lovely, offering a direct look at the lake. The hotel restaurant is right downstairs, and we saw many foreigners sitting there enjoying drinks. The town itself is small; you can explore most of it within a 15-minute walk, which is very convenient. There's no mini-fridge in the room, but you can ask the front desk for ice, and they'll provide a large bucket."

"Rum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself. We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area. Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too. We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful. After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks. We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny"

"The price of the homestay for more than 1,000 nights is very general. I went early and the boss was very unhappy. I opened a door and wore a nightgown and pulled my face. The booked breakfast was delivered to the door of the room on time. I had breakfast in the room. The food was toast butter juice jam was not an English breakfast; Mainly because it was too early to check out at ten o'clock, but we couldn't do it; the landlord's cat performance was 100, nice 🐈"

"The room was great, and stepping out into the garden took you right to the lake, with a large lawn. The scenery was absolutely stunning! Breakfast was also delicious. The only minor thing was that the elevator was a bit old, but that was also a unique experience. Definitely recommend it to everyone!"

"Lovely hotel room was smaller than expected and also the bathroom but it had everything we needed and was lovely and clean the breakfast was lovely catered for my gluten intolerance and the staff were really lovely especially Olivia who served us drinks for both nights nothing was too much trouble for her would highly recommend and we will be back"

"I’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break."

"The location is great. Breakfast was good and delicious. Room is acceptable. The downside is there are limited parking onsite. This caused quite a bit of angst every night for our 3 nights at the hotel."

"The breakfast was delicious, the surroundings were nice, and transportation was convenient. The only downside was that the room heating was intermittent, and there was a miscommunication between the hotel and the booking platform. We chose the platform's suggested plan of booking two different room types for three nights (Room A for the first two days, Room B for the third), but the hotel claimed we'd only booked one (the lower price). If we hadn't insisted, they seemed willing to ignore the price difference and keep us in the same room for three consecutive nights. The issue was eventually resolved, but it still left us feeling a bit unhappy."

"The bathroom facilities are superb! ! The water flow is very large, easy to adjust, and there are two nozzles, one is lower and the other is higher. The bathtub is very clean The owner is nice, the breakfast is so-so (smoky products are too salty, please don’t try) there is a bus stop next to it, there is also a very large sainsbury convenience store, it is very convenient to buy ice cream and so on"
