"Rum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself. We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area. Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too. We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful. After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks. We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny"

"Absolutely bang on for central location, only a couple of minutes walk to all the eating places & bars, very nice buffet breakfast or continental breakfast if required, very clean rooms & friendly staff. Excellent service from start to finish. Will definitely be returning to the Belsfield in the future"

"A beautiful property. Everything is very clean and location very good. Service staff also very friendly, makes you come back and order more. We took a bigger room as had luggage for comfort. Everything went well. Very close to a hike trail with nice top views of Windermere lake"

"Overall, it's pretty good. The decor has a bit of an American style, giving it a warm and cozy feel. The view from the window is lovely, offering a direct look at the lake. The hotel restaurant is right downstairs, and we saw many foreigners sitting there enjoying drinks. The town itself is small; you can explore most of it within a 15-minute walk, which is very convenient. There's no mini-fridge in the room, but you can ask the front desk for ice, and they'll provide a large bucket."

"The hotel was hospitable with very friendly staff however location wise it was quite far from the places I wantes to visit however it was close by to the town centre with many halal restaurant suchs as lake raj. Overall it was a pleasant stay!!!"

"The room layout is very beautiful, the environment is beautiful, the public area of the youth hotel has books to read for free, or you can donate to public welfare organizations. The clerk is warm and sincere, the experience is beautiful, the only downside is that the sound insulation effect is not good."

"The location is very close to the train station, about a four-minute walk, which is very convenient for walking and carrying large luggage. Although the room and bathroom are small, they are very clean and tidy."

"Located in the most bustling town in the Lake District, it's just a five-minute walk to the lakeside pier, offering easy access to boat trips. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel, though a bit dated, has a lovely rustic charm. All the staff were incredibly friendly. Highly recommend!"
