"I recently stayed at the Woodlands Hotel in the Lake District, and I was very pleased with the experience. First of all, the breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options including fresh salmon, which was a nice touch. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, giving it a homely feel. The hotel is also in a convenient location, with a nearby bus stop that makes it easy to reach the main attractions in the Lake District. Overall, it’s a great value hotel with attentive service. "I’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break."

"The breakfast was delicious, the surroundings were nice, and transportation was convenient. The only downside was that the room heating was intermittent, and there was a miscommunication between the hotel and the booking platform. We chose the platform's suggested plan of booking two different room types for three nights (Room A for the first two days, Room B for the third), but the hotel claimed we'd only booked one (the lower price). If we hadn't insisted, they seemed willing to ignore the price difference and keep us in the same room for three consecutive nights. The issue was eventually resolved, but it still left us feeling a bit unhappy."

"The hotel is located on the hillside of the lake area, manor-style, beautiful appearance, with a garden and large lawn, the environment is beautiful. Originally booked a classic twin room, after considering such a good environment, I still enjoyed it, so I looked at the picture and added money to book a club twin room. I was very looking forward to it. As a result, I was disappointed when I went upstairs. First of all, the elevator went to the first floor (the second floor in China), and our room was on the second floor. So the chartered driver who can work hard for Trip.com helped us take the box, and then after entering the door, I found that it was completely different from the picture. It was worse than the classic twin room we originally booked. There was a sofa, no coffee table, no desk and chair, and the service desk negotiated. The front desk staff was busy with restaurant service. So every time I asked him to ring the bell and wait, and I denied that there was a mistake. I insisted that the picture on Trip.com was wrong. What was given to us was the club twin room. There were no other rooms at present, so I could helpless stay and spent the worst night of the 16 nights of the trip. Fortunately, later Trip.com came forward to coordinate the refund of the difference and made corresponding compensation. We are still satisfied with the after-care work of Trip.com ."

OOlivia575It feels like a family B&B. You can only check in in the afternoon. It is a separate villa. The hydrangeas in the courtyard are beautiful. It is very nice to have afternoon tea in the small courtyard on a sunny day. It is very close to Windermere Railway Station, suitable for those who are unable to drive by themselves. It is about 20 minutes' walk from the town of Bowness. When I made the reservation, only the loft room type was left. The spiral staircase would be a bit inconvenient. I felt that this room type was only suitable for young people. If you don't have to live by the lake, this price is still relatively high in Windermere. Breakfast is a typical English breakfast, but the service is quite enthusiastic. In addition to breakfast, each person will receive a piece of cake every day. Although the taste is relatively ordinary, you can also bring some supplies when you go hiking. I recommend a Chinese takeaway restaurant run by a Hong Konger in Windermere. The Sin Chew fried rice and curry rice are both delicious haha.

The room is large and there is a living room, unexpected, but the living room side is on the bedside, next to the street, sooner or later, some noisy, especially the UK speed is generally faster, pay attention to it. Breakfast is prepared in advance bread yogurt cereal milk, some in the refrigerator, some in the locker, do not have too much expectations.
2. If you come by car, you will need a parking card with the front desk, which costs £3 a day. There are unlimited parking. There are several places to park. It is actually very convenient. When you leave, you can go to the parking lot to drive first, and put the key and parking card at the front desk when you come back.

Facilities: Warm bedding, snow-white towels, free sparkling water, welcome milk. There is a hot water kettle and bedside USB socket.
Meals: There are seven or eight set meals to choose from for breakfast. The full English style is very rich. You can even choose low-calorie coffee and low-calorie tea!
Service: The landlord is very kind and gentleman, and can speak ”omelet” and ”poached egg” in Chinese.

The hotel lobby has a very British aristocratic style, and each restaurant is very distinctive, but my favorite is the breakfast restaurant. It is so beautiful and comfortable to sit by the window, look at the lake through the green lawn, and eat English breakfast. We ordered dinner, which was also very good, especially the appetizers. The room is also very large, and we can see the lake in our room. It is very shocking to get up in the morning and look at the lake under the blue sky and white clouds. Ggreenr****The location is fantastic. I saw the hotel sign right on Bo'ness Pier. There's a large lawn in front of the hotel, facing the pier. The sun was shining brightly the day we arrived, and watching the sunset from the hotel lawn was absolutely stunning. We didn't go out for dinner, but instead ate in the hotel restaurant. The view was fantastic, and the prices were great. I especially had my favorite dish of the trip: the lobster salad, which was similar to our favorite crayfish pasta. It was 12 pounds and a fantastic value. The hotel service was also excellent. They offered directions and even showed me how to use the old elevator. Really thoughtful touches.

GGuest UserThe Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness.
The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude.
The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens.
We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that.
Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.

I was most dissatisfied with a male waiter, his attitude was particularly bad, I suspect he was a racist, his attitude was really bad, I have stayed in so many places in the world in hotels and B&Bs, this male waiter's attitude was the worst, I entered the staff area is my fault, but I entered from the restaurant, there is no staff only to enter the prompts, the male waiter kicked me out like a dog, I felt I was insulted.The waiter shooed me out like a dog, I felt insulted, it seems that the quality of the British people really needs to be improved.
