"Treasure Wild Luxury Hotels around Yarra National Park, the flaws are not hidden In order to facilitate the next day to Yala National Park, I chose this wild luxury hotel near the park. I didn't expect it to be an unexpected surprise and a proper treasure choice! The hotel price is particularly affordable and the price is super high. The location is close to the lake, within walking distance, the lakeside scenery is excellent, the environment is quiet and quiet, the night is more charming, and the atmosphere is full. The dishes in the hotel restaurant taste very good and the daily dining experience is good. The most intimate thing is that considering that we have to enter the park early in the morning, we specially prepared a packed breakfast, and the details are full. The fly in the ointment is the Yarra Jeep service booked by the hotel. Because I didn't find a carpool partner, the price was high because the two people enjoyed a car alone; and the arranged vehicle was too shabby, and the engine could not catch fire on the return trip, adding a small episode to the itinerary. Leaving aside the small flaws of the jeep, the hotel has performed well in terms of location, dining, environmental sanitation, etc. As a foothold of Yarra National Park, it is highly recommended!"

"Nestled by the lake with expansive lawns, the hotel offers a truly wonderful environment. The room amenities were also excellent. It was delightful to spot various small birds and squirrels freely roaming the lobby and playing on the hotel's grounds – our children were absolutely thrilled. The swimming pool was also fantastic, and there was so much for the kids to do right on-site that they barely needed to leave the hotel. Breakfast was a generous spread, and the service was exceptionally warm. They can arrange transport to Yala and Bundala. Unfortunately, it wasn't bird-watching season, so we missed out on Bundala. However, should we visit Bundala again, we would definitely choose to stay here."

"A luxurious hotel with excellent interior design. The rooms are a bit dated, but there's still a colonial charm, even in the slightly worn furniture. We stayed in October. It was very uncrowded. The hotel was empty. We explored everything. We used the fitness center—there's a good selection of exercise machines. The hotel has live music at various times. Animals roam the hotel; we saw a jerboa, rabbits, mongooses, a monitor lizard, and monkeys in the trees by the golf course. Ask for half board—there's nowhere to dine nearby. The ocean is mesmerizing in its power and beauty. The waves roar like thunder. We didn't swim; the red flag was on, and the waves were nearly 3 meters high, with sand. Overall, we were pleased with our stay."

"Lankavatara offers a peaceful, secluded escape. The beach is beautiful and, for most of our stay, we had it almost entirely to ourselves. Do be aware that the sea is very rough, so it’s generally not suitable for swimming. The rooms have a rustic charm with basic amenities. While comfortable enough, I personally wouldn’t rate the property as a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi was also quite weak, which may be worth considering if you need a reliable internet connection. The staff were always willing to help when asked, although the service sometimes felt a little disingenuous and not always delivered with genuine warmth. Food service could also be quite slow at times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time for meals. One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding area. A special mention goes to Upoint Restaurant, which serves exceptional home-cooked Sri Lankan seafood. The hosts there were incredibly welcoming and made for a memorable dining experience. Overall, we had a lovely stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, unspoilt beach, simple accommodation, and don’t mind a more relaxed pace of service, Lankavatara is a pleasant place to unwind."

"The room is very good! Very clean! The view of the room is very good, the decoration is minimalist industrial style, this hotel starts at least 1500 in China, this price is too worth it. This price and quality are too cheap in Mrs. Lanca. The hotel also has a garden with peacocks and two cute kittens. The owner is very nice, warm and very demeanor, and the scale of getting along with the guests is very comfortable. The hotel's own jeep driver is particularly experienced, with yala safari for twenty years, the same presence as the boss. Under his leadership, we soon entered the park and saw the leopard. Later, under his guidance, we also saw alligators, elephant mothers and babies, various birds, lizards, various deer. We really feel that the car does not need to be particularly good, nor does it need to drive very fast. There is an experienced driver enough. Others are also very good, English is good, and they can speak Chinese for all animals. In fact, the most worth mentioning of this hotel is their chef, the food made is particularly delicious, it is the best we have eaten on this trip. All people love to eat children, said that fortunately, I lived for a day, otherwise he will really gain weight, by the way, he ate one and a half portions for dinner on the first night, grilled fish, not to be missed. "This hotel is located in a remote area, which turned out to be a huge advantage. The peaceful surroundings allowed us to completely unwind without any distractions — it truly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. Right from the start, we were treated to a lovely surprise: a room upgrade with a stunning ocean view. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was pure magic. The food was a highlight — beautifully flavored local dishes with a creative twist. Knowing that everything was sourced sustainably from local farmers made the experience even more meaningful. What really stood out was the hospitality. During my stay, I sprained my ankle, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me. A special thank you to Lakshitha, who was incredibly kind and attentive throughout my recovery. This is a place where nature, comfort, and genuine care come together. Minimalistic hotel rooms well located off Silent Beach in Tangalle. Nice communal pool and a small amount of rooms makes the villa quite tranquil and never busy. The staff are wonderful and the chef cooks delicious food which is all very reasonably priced. I just recommend you stay away from beef in this country as it’s quite inedible, this seems a common theme whether you’re buying a cheap burger or an expensive beef dish. The only detractions to the accomodation was a foul odour emanating from the shower in the mornings, but it did dissipate thereafter. Also I find there is little point of an in-room safe if it isn’t bolted to the ground. You can literally walk in and pick the safe up and exit the room making it redundant. Rooms are well appointed and well priced for the area given the two luxury alternatives are the Amanwella resort which is quite dated and much more expensive and the Anantara Peace Haven which is more expensive but also a fantastic product. The local beach here is beautiful. I would stay here again, but I expect rooms will be hard to come by as the country lacks 5 star resorts at this time. I would stay here again no doubt and recommend the property.

The feeling of vacation is full when you enter the hotel. The room is OK but there are a lot of bugs. There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, Italian, Asian and buffet. There are some tourist restaurants around the hotel, which are not recommended. It takes about half an hour to drive to any restaurant that is worth your attention. When you check out, you should take a good look at the bill. There are several extra items such as turtle protection fees for no reason.

No need to wake up early for a safari when staying at this hotel! You can see many black-faced monkeys, four or five crocodiles in the lake, peacocks, lizards, various water birds, and small squirrels. The ecosystem here is fantastic, and surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes at all – maybe it was the season. The weather was great during our stay, and dinner was good too. It's definitely a great value for money option in this area. We also met a staff member who enthusiastically led us to the hotel's private beach and took photos for our whole family. He refused a tip, saying he was just happy we came, such a kind person! The animals here are also very friendly; the monkeys don't attack people and just eat leaves. What a magical experience watching the hotel's dogs immediately charge and bark when they saw crocodiles trying to come ashore!

We were staying in My Village as we wanted to experience safari (by third party) at Yala National Park. The area is a little more secluded but split into two sides where we put up at the rooms next to the pool. As it was raining every day whilst we stayed there, we didn't get a chance to swim but it looked great for cooling down. Our room was clean and great value. However what surprised us was the quality of food for dinner as it was prepared fresh upon order. Also enjoyed the packed breakfast they prepared for our safari. Only comment would be the number of insects and mosquitoes, but mosquito coils can be requested. Over all, a pleasant stay with efficient service and AC.

The Hilton Yala Resort is located on the southern edge of Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, at the entrance to a protected area... It's said that the park experience is a substitute for an African safari, and this protected area is home to wild animals such as leopards, elephants, deer, and peacocks, especially the leopard colony (just kidding, you practically never see one [sweat]). This resort has only 42 rooms, blending seamlessly into nature. Each room has a private balcony and a Jacuzzi or private pool. A spa is standard at resorts, and there are suites and more private villas, but the prices are just as hefty [laughs]...

The room was large, but there were very few electrical outlets; all the outlets were plugged into light sockets, so you had to unplug them to charge your power bank or phone. The room was dimly lit, which might be the design, but we were worried about missing anything while packing our things. The food options were limited, but you could try their buffet, which wasn't expensive. The service was poor, and the staff's English wasn't very good. My friend got bitten on the finger by an insect in the bathroom, causing it to swell and turn red. When we went to the front desk for help, they were indifferent and said they didn't know if the bite had occurred on the hotel grounds. They didn't treat the wound immediately and even sent someone to the room to check what kind of insect it was. We just wanted some alcohol to treat the bite. What was supposed to be a pleasant trip turned sour. It's quite close to the zoo, about 15 minutes away, but we'll probably not stay here next time; staying by the lake would be more convenient.

We had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Set a quadruple room, in fact, can live 6 or 7 people no problem 😄 The hotel is located on the edge of the lake. Since we are going to Yarra National Park to see wildlife the next morning, the store packed breakfast for us very early.

A very convenient hotel 30 mins from Yala national park for Safari (which the were kind enough to arrange for us). Nice pool with views over the lagoon and a great spot to sit and watch the sunset, birds flying home for bed/bats on their way out for the night! Staff are great, food was good.
