"Lankavatara offers a peaceful, secluded escape. The beach is beautiful and, for most of our stay, we had it almost entirely to ourselves. Do be aware that the sea is very rough, so it’s generally not suitable for swimming. The rooms have a rustic charm with basic amenities. While comfortable enough, I personally wouldn’t rate the property as a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi was also quite weak, which may be worth considering if you need a reliable internet connection. The staff were always willing to help when asked, although the service sometimes felt a little disingenuous and not always delivered with genuine warmth. Food service could also be quite slow at times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time for meals. One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding area. A special mention goes to Upoint Restaurant, which serves exceptional home-cooked Sri Lankan seafood. The hosts there were incredibly welcoming and made for a memorable dining experience. Overall, we had a lovely stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, unspoilt beach, simple accommodation, and don’t mind a more relaxed pace of service, Lankavatara is a pleasant place to unwind."

"We had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel."

"A luxurious hotel with excellent interior design. The rooms are a bit dated, but there's still a colonial charm, even in the slightly worn furniture. We stayed in October. It was very uncrowded. The hotel was empty. We explored everything. We used the fitness center—there's a good selection of exercise machines. The hotel has live music at various times. Animals roam the hotel; we saw a jerboa, rabbits, mongooses, a monitor lizard, and monkeys in the trees by the golf course. Ask for half board—there's nowhere to dine nearby. The ocean is mesmerizing in its power and beauty. The waves roar like thunder. We didn't swim; the red flag was on, and the waves were nearly 3 meters high, with sand. Overall, we were pleased with our stay."

"The room was large, but there were very few electrical outlets; all the outlets were plugged into light sockets, so you had to unplug them to charge your power bank or phone. The room was dimly lit, which might be the design, but we were worried about missing anything while packing our things. The food options were limited, but you could try their buffet, which wasn't expensive. The service was poor, and the staff's English wasn't very good. My friend got bitten on the finger by an insect in the bathroom, causing it to swell and turn red. When we went to the front desk for help, they were indifferent and said they didn't know if the bite had occurred on the hotel grounds. They didn't treat the wound immediately and even sent someone to the room to check what kind of insect it was. We just wanted some alcohol to treat the bite. What was supposed to be a pleasant trip turned sour. It's quite close to the zoo, about 15 minutes away, but we'll probably not stay here next time; staying by the lake would be more convenient."

"Another incredible hotel in Sri Lanka! Lost in the jungle among the residential dwellings of locals, mango trees and coconut palm right on the shore of a picturesque lagoon, which made it a dive for us into the island's original life. Incredibly beautiful rooms, clean and spacious, there are all the necessary facilities. A small shop of Larek is available on foot from the hotel, where you can buy something on the small. There is a swimming pool, a massage area and a spa, lying with umbrellas, a recreation area near the lake, kayaks, bikes, a place for Yoga. Beautiful and well-designed territory, diversity of living nature and small hand-made details are a complete pleasure for viewing. very delicious food, fresh seafood caught literally at your presence, a unique local kitchen. the only thing that prices are significantly higher than the restaurants that are in the district, but we only had dinner in the hotel and remained satisfied, There was no desire to look for something else. friendly hosts and staff, we have very much penetrated their kindness and communication with them. You can get to the beach on kayaks, bikes or tuck, with route and means of movement always help and advise the hosts, as with any questions. a class place and we are lucky to get not in the height of the season, TK at this time it would be hard to find a free room here."
