Chengde Shuangqiao District Hotels

If you want to fully explore the Chengde Mountain Resort, then avoid the summer holidays and stay at the Qi Wang Lou. While a bit pricey, it's truly worth it. It's only a 292-meter walk to the main gate of the resort, and the hotel itself is a historical site. The Qi Wang Lou was built in 1750 and is the sixth of the thirty-six scenic spots named by Emperor Qianlong within the Mountain Resort. With only 57 rooms, it's like staying directly in Emperor Qianlong's grand study. There are even trees personally planted by Qianlong in the courtyard, along with deer, peacocks, and cats kept by the hotel. In the mornings, the deer roam around. The key is that there are fewer crowds and the scenery is beautiful; it actually feels more like a scenic spot than the crowded main resort. This time, I was with family, so we chose a two-bedroom suite. To my surprise, it was the same type of suite used by dignitaries – spacious, comfortable, quiet, and clean. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights, and it was quite good. Every staff member was kind, friendly, and attentive.

This was incredibly convenient for laundry in the summer, which I highly appreciate. 2. The hotel staff were attentive, enthusiastic, and always available. They provided patient and detailed explanations. 3. There was also a tour guide who led us on an in-depth tour of the Chengde Mountain Resort. The guide was professional, enthusiastic, and meticulous, earning unanimous praise from everyone!!!

Spent the weekend in Hebei, with Chengde as our first stop. We checked into the hotel a little after 1 PM, and the place was bustling with guests – apparently, there were three wedding banquets going on. When we left the hotel around noon the next day, there were another two wedding receptions happening. A local friend told me that Zhaofeng is considered the best hotel in Chengde, and hosting a wedding or any banquet there is a huge status symbol. It's not particularly close to the Summer Resort, so you'll need to take a taxi to get there.

As a frequent traveler, I've almost exclusively chosen Hampton by Hilton for the past five years. This gives me a good basis for comparison and a bit of authority when it comes to their various locations. My stay at this particular hotel was, as always, excellent. The front desk staff was professional, housekeeping was meticulous and attentive, and the restaurant service was warm and patient. I especially want to give a shout-out to the front desk team – a big thumbs up 👍 – for perfectly handling our special requests. I'll definitely be back next time. Thank you all!

The rooms at Atour are consistently clean and comfortable, providing a sense of peace. The front desk staff and the service personnel on the 10th floor were very enthusiastic, attentive, and thoughtful. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of the Summer Palace, which allowed us to visit early and avoid tour groups, making for a great experience. We also didn't have to queue for the mountain shuttle before 8 AM. Furthermore, everything you could need is right downstairs, including various restaurants, bubble tea and coffee shops, malls, and supermarkets. I would definitely choose this place again next time.

The Hilton Garden Inn Chengde Summer Palace is perfectly located. It's a ten-minute walk to the Summer Palace, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and there's a gym and self-service laundry room. The hotel is a converted building, so the rooms are a bit small, there are few elevators, and street-facing rooms can be noisy. There's no executive lounge or in-room mini-fridge, and parking can be tight during peak season. It's ideal for travelers primarily visiting the Summer Palace and prioritizing convenience.

This hotel is located in what feels like an apartment building, which houses several other hotels as well. It's super close to the train station, with direct underground access right downstairs. The room itself is well-equipped, featuring automatic curtains, a heated toilet seat, a tea set, and an adjustable electric bed. Breakfast isn't a buffet; it's a fixed set menu. You get a pie, eggs, cold dishes, and you can choose between porridge or noodles. The underground parking garage is quite narrow.

Facilities: Standard hotel facilities, well-equipped and convenient. They have their own parking lot with an attendant to help you park. Environment: Although it's in a busy area, it's very quiet, and the surroundings are very convenient. Taxis, in particular, are very accessible and inexpensive, so you don't need to drive to attractions. Attraction parking lots are often too small and inconvenient for self-driving. Service: Very attentive, any issues were resolved immediately. The hotel restaurant, especially, has great food; we ate all three nights at the restaurant on the fourth floor. Breakfast was also very rich and varied.

The large bay window offers a fantastic view of the Wulie River. The room came with welcome snacks. We also received complimentary tickets to the Rehe hot springs, which was a nice bonus for a good soak and scrub. The room price was a bit high during the holiday, and breakfast was crowded, so the overall value for money wasn't great.

We arrived quite late, around 11 PM, but the lady at the hotel still came to pick us up from the parking lot. The next day, after visiting the Mountain Resort, it was incredibly hot. Even though it was past check-out time, she still let us go back to shower, so we could continue our journey feeling refreshed. The hotel's location is excellent; it's just a two-minute walk from the hotel exit to the ticket office.
