We had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well.
We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo.
The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used!
The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin.
The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception.
There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea.
We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.
It takes 10-15 minutes to walk from the central train station. Because of the slope, although the straight-line distance is not far, it is still a bit difficult to walk with a suitcase. The hotel is very good overall, but the surrounding area is under renovation. There was originally a park behind, but it seems to be blocked.
The lobby is very beautiful, and there are ice lemonade, snacks, and fruit supplies. The waiter is also very nice, but the room is very small. I can't see the area when booking. I guess it's only 15 or 16 square meters? We almost had no place to put our two large suitcases. Fortunately, the bathroom is not bad and not small. The room is also very clean.
It takes ten minutes to walk to the White Church and ten minutes to the pier. There is also a bus stop downstairs, which is quite convenient. You have to take a bus or an electric scooter to go to the Rock Church, Sibelius Park, etc.
Overall, except for the small space, it is not bad, and the breakfast is also very good.
location was super convenient, we were a 3 mins walk away from the Central Railway Station which connects you to other places in Helsinki quickly and efficiently. breakfast selection can be varied as we stayed for a couple of nights but the selection remained the same everyday. but overall, really enjoyed our stay! :) thank you for the amazing service provided especially at the reception where we experienced difficulties with our flight and they were kind enough to assist us throughout.

This is where I got my membership thanks to the very kind reception Jansen if Im not mistaken. He is very accommodating and kind . I like this Hotel . I even got upgraded to Jr Suite in Gothenburg .
The best thing about this hotel are the location, the interior design of the room and the breakfast spread. Everything is very well thought of. If they provide a kettle in the room, that would be great to have access of hot water for drinks.
Our experience wasn't off to a good start, dealing with Jason when dropping our bags in the morning. He was borderline racist, assuming we were with the other Asian groups, making presumptions about our requests, and had difficulties understanding our requests on arranging for early to-go breakfast boxes.
But everything else during our stay was perfect hence the 5 stars. Everyone else we dealt with, including the house keepers, restaurant staff and cleaners were all great - very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is strategically located right next to the Central railway station.
The room itself was large and clean and beautifully decorated. We also tried out the facilities including sauna and cold plunge (a Finnish culture), which were top notch. The gym was also world class and properly better equipped than some other commercial gyms out there.
The other highlight was the breakfast. So many options even for vegetarians like us, all allergens clearly labelled.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's ever in Helsinki.
Good location is the biggest advantage, especially for tourists who need to pull suitcases in the ice and snow.
The room was small and the sofa bed was basically left with an aisle to walk. But the bed was quite comfortable.
The bathroom shower is very comfortable, that is, the water is easy to sprinkle out, in fact, it can be solved by simply adding a shower curtain.
The hotel has convenient transportation, rich breakfast, comfortable environment, clean hotel rooms, recommended tourists to stay, it is recommended to buy a car and train ticket, Metro subway station, full-time appointment EUR10, you can take the train from the Central Railway Station to the airport, the journey is about 35 minutes, fast and convenient. (If you go to the airport by train for 5 yuan, it costs more than 3 yuan per tram, so buy day pass 10 yuan, arrive). There is K - supermaket, downstairs in the hotel.
The original Solo Sokos. Itself part of a chain. Has a nice feel to the entrance and lobby area. Good decent rooms. Best of all, near to the University which I needed to go. Also right in the middle of shopping and eating districts. Friendly reception and helpful staff.

DDarren WuIt's quite good. It's an old 5-star hotel in Helsinki. The service is good. The room is a little small and the decoration is very Nordic. But the location is very good and it's clean. It's very good in such a prime location.
HheidiOverall, my recent stay with Bob W was disappointing.
I booked the 4-person penthouse room primarily for the use of the sauna on my last day of the trip.
Firstly, pin code provided was only valid for door access to the stairs, not door to the elevator side at night. This became a significant inconvenience, especially for a female traveler like myself who arrived at night after a tiring flight. Having to carry a 20kg luggage and a 10kg carry-on up five flights of stairs was both physically demanding and frustrating. Clear arrangements on how to access the elevator at night should have been considered for guest.
Secondly, check-in process was not clearly communicated, causing panic upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had to seek help from customer service on a third-party booking site and reach out via email to obtain a check-in link, which added unnecessary stress and confusion.
Furthermore, instruction for turning on the sauna were unclear, and I was unable to enjoy it until the next morning at 8am, just few hours before my checkout time. I had specifically chosen the penthouse room with the sauna for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. due to the lack of clear instructions, and had to seek assistance to figure out how to operate it properly, which ate into the limited time I had available to enjoy the amenity.
In conclusion, my stay with Bob W fell short of my expectations. The limited time to enjoy the amenities, issues during the check-in process and accessing the elevator, made for a less than satisfactory experience. I hope that Bob W seriously takes feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more enjoyable stay for travelers in the future. Thank you
DDato Ar AsriFirstly, being an avid traveller, I would say this apartment was one of the best accommodation that I have stayed so far. The location, the room condition, facilities, all in good condition. There are only this 4 issues the host need to solve:
1. Accessibility, there steps about 4 feet that we need to access before we could use the lift to the 3rd floor. This was problem for us with many luggage (for handicapped ppl as well)
2. There were 2 panels for PIN number, host should clearly explain which one to use (maybe using picture).
3. The block for the apartment unit should be clearly identified using map
4. Host to provide email address and whatsapp phone number for easy communication.
