"Next time I visit Sun Moon Lake, I'll definitely choose this place again. There's no strange odor in the room at all. Previously, many hotels started providing air purifiers, but it's completely unnecessary here. The breakfast was plentiful. I accidentally spilled some soy milk, and the handsome guy at the bar told me not to worry about it. I also met two elderly vacationers; the first time was on the street, and then again at the hotel. Each time, they politely greeted me."

"We absolutely loved this hotel! We only stayed one night, but the views of Sun Moon Lake were breathtakingly beautiful, completely different in the morning and evening – truly a treat. The arched balcony window was perfect for photos, and we even caught the sunrise. The staff were very polite and helpful. Overall, the cleanliness was good, though there were a few minor stains on the towels, but we had our own, so it wasn't a big issue. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but the taste was decent, and it offered good value for money. The location is excellent, just a two-minute walk to Shuishe Pier, making it convenient for boat tours to enjoy the beautiful scenery."

"The room was spacious and parking was free, with direct elevator access to the lobby. Right outside were all sorts of delicious old street snacks like stone-grilled BBQ, cabbage buns, potato tarts, fried rice, black tea egg rolls, shrimp crackers, pork rolls, grilled skewers, and aiyu jelly with lemon. FamilyMart and 7-Eleven were also nearby. You could buy everything at once and bring it back to the room to eat, all within walking distance. There were also king oyster mushrooms. It was very close to the pier. The Toto washlet toilet and a non-wall-mounted hairdryer with good airflow were nice. The slippers were cute and comfortable. Soaking in the hot spring left my whole body feeling light and all my fatigue gone. The fridge had free drinks, and the shampoo and shower gel were effective and smelled great. Newly opened in 2026, the bed and pillows were very clean and didn't make me itchy. The wooden floor had a very Japanese feel. The Michelin-rated all-vegetarian breakfast was incredibly delicious; you absolutely must try the bamboo shoot congee. It was my first time having two bowls of congee at breakfast! The balcony offered scenic views. We made a last-minute decision for a quick hot spring day trip."

They have supported me to get to one of the old tea farm which needs special transportation arrangement by arranging a very attentive and helpful driver.
They are located at a peaceful quintet location which is about 15 min walk from Suishe visitor centre also nearby secret small water area where fireflies appears at night of spring season.
They have a free bicycle service too so I could also fully enjoy both cycling and morning walk to see sunrise at a quiet wooden boardwalk.
I would like to come back at the next firefly season.

It's easy to reach by foot, and it can be said to be the most convenient homestay in the Qingjing Farm area.The Star Villa is about 1,800 meters above sea level. Although it has a convenient location, it is far away from Taiwan Route 14A, which makes the traffic on the road seem to have nothing to do with the Sky Star Resort; it also has a wide view of the park and faces Taiwan. There are several well-known mountains such as Snow Mountain Range, Shoucheng Mountain, Dongyan Mountain, Baigu Mountain, and you can see a magnificent mountain view.

"The hotel is already old and the room was a bit dusty, especially the humidifier—I had to clean it myself. The air conditioner was also very weak. We stayed in Room 302, the one with two queen beds and a lake view.
For breakfast, they usually served sausage, congee, and bread. It was simple but enough to fill you up.
The staff can be a bit unfriendly at night, which is understandable because they seem very tired. They work as receptionists and also do the cleaning.
Overall, the place is still nice and we would come back. We were also able to check in early.
We just took the bus and boat, then walked to get there."

Although it's about a 7-10 minute walk from Shuili Train Station (currently closed), that didn't diminish our satisfaction at all! 😀🥳"

Guest UserWife trouble to so far over Tenant live and the China and time one trap and teens of favorite hotel. The hotel has a mix of Japanese and Scandinavian influence and it was beautifully decorated. The dining hall looks like the inside of a ship. The beds elevated off the floor inside the room. The showers and toilet area are spacious, and the whole room is incredibly comfortable. The hotel is impeccably cleaned, and then the breakfast is phenomenal. This hotel is located on the quieter side of the Sun Moon Lake, which our family prefers. The other side is way too busy. Keep in mind, though most of the stores are closed by 8 PM so if you’re seeking a more lively nightlife side of the lake might not be the best. If you’re looking for a quieter vibe and area, this hotel is perfect.

PiglegtooPleasantly surprised by the hotel. The room is a tatami room with comfortable futon beds. The highlight is the lovely view of the lake on two sides of the room. The layout is similar to what one finds in a typical Japanese onsen hotel with wc that is separate from the bathroom. Pajamas are provided. So nice to be able to soak in our private onsen bath after a day of activities in SML.
The breakfast is amazing in terms of quantity and quality; it is however geared towards Asian food. Bagels are delicious.
The hotel is opposite one of the entrances to the walkway around the lake so it’s convenient for strolls around the lake.
Wish we could stay for a few more days.

The building uses H-steel construction, though the exterior decoration doesn't give that away. The building materials are quite good. The interior decoration is definitely 5-star quality. Most of the main equipment is made in China, and the quality is very high standard.
The bidet toilet (JOMOW), shower facilities, audio system (Edifier M230), and room power control device, though made in China, are all of impeccable quality.
Overall, about 80-90% of the room's building materials are from China, which shows that Chinese building materials still have a certain level of competitiveness.
The stay offered a comfort level of 9.9/10!
Occasionally, there are sheep grazing on the hillside below.
Hotpot is available for dinner, and there are live singers on weekends, which creates a great atmosphere.
Breakfast is Chinese style, with congee served with various Chinese breakfast items, toast, fruit, eggs, and high-mountain cabbage. Beverages include coffee, soy milk, and red bean milk, among others (no Western breakfast options).
It's understandable that there might be some common insects and flies in the dining area.

The building is filled with the scent of cypress wood. Although it's an older property, it's very well-maintained! I heard it's going to be renovated soon, and I hope they preserve its original wooden cabin charm. When I visit Sun Moon Lake again, I'll definitely choose to stay here.

The hotel is ok but the room is big. The restaurant in the hotel is a must try. My daughter LOVEs every dishes she ordered. She said, this is the best food she had in Taiwan, so we had two dinners at the hotel. The location of the hotel is not great! We couldn’t get into the local buses to go to Xitou nor to Taichung because the buses were full from the original starting point. However, the hotel offers fare shuttle service to and from Xitou but not Shanlinxi. The front desk lady drove us to Xitou, she was GREAT and very accommodating, she took us to Xitou bus station outside of the normal schedule hours so we can catch the bus back to Taichung. We would come back again with our car to get to different areas in Xitou again.

The highlight for this hotel is the location near the Ita Thao pier especially if you are coming in from Shuishe by boat. The room is spacious and renovated not long ago. Breakfast was substantial, typical local ********* breakfast. I had a room with partial view if the sun moon lake. But convinient to walk down for a morning or evening stroll. Many small eateries aroubd even at night with family mart and 7-11 just round the corner

Having a hot tub right in the room for a private onsen experience was absolutely wonderful! It saved us the trouble of going to an outdoor bathhouse, offering both convenience and privacy – I loved it! A big thank you to the hotel's front desk staff too; they clearly explained the check-in process, and everyone was so friendly and polite. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and family, and I'd definitely stay here again if I get the chance. Superb! 👍👍

The hotel is considerably cheaper than others in the area with similar-looking rooms and it is brilliantly-located right at the lakefront and only 2 minutes away from the bus terminal.
The staff is very friendly and you even get a discount voucher for the nearby bike rental.
I booked a room without a window and got one with two windows which is absolutely appreciated. I even had a very large bathroom with a gorgeous and huge bathtub which was an unexpected luxury.
Overall the room is clean and comfortable. The AC works perfectly, the bed is comfortable enough for a few days, and the the linen and towels were fresh.
The interior is dated which didn't bother me me much because it was still as clean as dated interior can get and therefore definitely clean enough for me and for most travellers. I actually kinda liked the old charme.
The walls are thin, though it doesn't matter so much because there aren't many rooms per floor.
The breakfast was surprisingly nice and located in another hotel right at the lakefront so that you have stunning views!
