Hotels in Cuihu District, Kunming

I stayed here during the Spring Festival and the experience was great! The room was very clean, the bedding was very good, the pillows were great, and I slept soundly! The hotel is a state-owned old five-star hotel. There was no price increase during the Chinese New Year. The price is reasonable, the service is very good, the breakfast is good, the location is very advantageous, opposite is Hang Lung Plaza, subway station, it closed for renovation in May, I stayed once and it was the last time. The old hotel, the rice noodles downstairs are worth recommending, the favorite of locals

Apart from the Wi-fi which was terrible for the entire duration of a week (doesn't make sense how this can't be solved very easily, especially if the hotel is making enough money being fully booked). Everything else was absolutely excellent! 👌🏻 The staff are beyond friendly, kind and helpful. They really go out of their way to help (except for making an effort to contact the WiFi providers). I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could do a lot of my business by having access to printing facilities within the Hotel. The swimming pool is quite nice and the staff member was really friendly, giving me a swimming cap when I didn't have. They brought me towels and water to drink. The hotel robot is always a great convenience when it comes to deliveries as it brings the delivery to your room. Breakfast is pretty good just like any top hotel. I usually repeat my stays here.

We booked 3 rooms , got upgraded to a bigger room on low season end of June . Good location to Kunming old street and Nanping Pedestrian street . Breakfast variety was plenty . I ordered things from Tao bao and they kept for me , I also ordered flower tea from Dali ancient city , mushroom from Lijiang ancient city and it was shipped to here , so we took the parcel on our last day at Kunming before heading to airport . Great service ! Thank you

Truly wonderful hotel!  It is situated just across the road from Green Lake, which never ceases to inspire as you wander around the lakes and watch the wildlife.  The hotel staff are superb, genuinely wanting to do everything they can to ensure a happy stay.  I was particularly impressed when, in response to an electrical problem at 10.30pm, the maintenance man was accompanied by a female English speaker - therefore putting me completely at ease.  The food has an excellent Western choice, as well as Chinese.  Anyone visiting Kunming would be foolish to stay anywhere else!!

We stayed here for 2 nights. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, which set a positive tone for our stay. Special thanks to Sam the butler and another gentle an who was very helpful and attentive. Another gentleman, possibly the manager, was also very polite and accommodating, which we truly appreciated. The hotel lobby is spacious and smells great, creating a pleasant first impression. Our room was comfortable, with decent pillows and mattress. It also had various small items provided, but some had unclear functions—adding a bilingual guide would be very helpful for foreign guests. Housekeeping was quick and responsive. When we had an issue and called for help, we couldn’t speak Chinese, but someone came directly to our door to understand what we needed—this effort was very much appreciated. One area for improvement: the lady at the front desk when we checked in on 30 Apr should improve her customer service skills, especially when assisting international guests. Overall, a pleasant and welcoming stay with helpful staff and a few areas that could make the experience even better.

The hotel is really clean despite a bit old. The breakfast is varied and very delicious. There is also park beside the hotel you can walk in the morning.

Room and location was good. Except that the room smelled bad when I first entered - there’s an ashtray in the room so I presume is a smoking room. Requested for a non-smoking room at the front desk, but the receptionist said that they have it, but even so he cannot guarantee that others wouldn’t smoke. I clearly saw in the elevator that they have a floor labelled non smoking rooms - so was he trying to say that even non smoking rooms will smell like cigarettes? It would seem that he didn’t want me to change rooms. Also attached is a photo of what looks like a camera above the TV. Creepy much… just make sure that you cover it up with something.

Very friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are also very nice and the breakfast is good! The hotel is very conveniently located near the Old Street and the Green Lake Park! I can only recommend it!

The location is great, close to the city center. The room itself is okay, but the air conditioning stopped working at midnight. I called the front desk, and at first, the staff member asked me to reset it. She told me the air conditioning should be set to heater mode only (it was already getting hot at the end of May), so I reset it, and it worked for about 10 minutes before turning off again. I called the front desk again, and she agreed to come check. When she arrived, she tried a few buttons and claimed the air conditioning was working, but it was obviously unresponsive, no matter what she pressed. There was no sound. I asked her, ”Are you sure it's working? There's no sound, and without the AC, the room is becoming unbearable.” Eventually, she admitted it wasn't working and told me there was nothing she could do and asked me to sleep without AC. At this point, I raised my eyebrow and asked, ”You want me to sleep in this room with no AC and no fan?” Only then did she agree to bring a fan to my room. It was around 1 or 2 a.m. by that time. To make matters worse, she blamed me for the AC malfunction, saying it was because I set it to cooling mode initially. While I understand she might not have been able to fix the AC, her response was quite unacceptable.

We booked an extra night here, so this is the review for the extra night. The hotel was wonderful, the people are so kind as well, and always try to help. The location is incredible, it's quiet but also very close to the green lake. There are a lot of shops and a delicious porridge place really close by for breakfast. Free tangerines and a orange drink as well. Laundry was very easy to do and free, and the machines already include detergent so it was very simple. Thank you very much to all the staff at the hotel!
