I think this location offered the best Jade Dragon Snow Mountain view I've seen in Lijiang; the perspective was perfect. We arrived at night, so I didn't feel much, but waking up to that snow mountain view the next morning truly blew me away. The location isn't too remote; getting to the Old Town usually costs just the base fare.

We stayed in a twin-bed room with a balcony and a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains. It was amazing! We didn't even have to get up early to see the 'golden mountains' (sunlight hitting the peaks) right from our balcony. The small balcony itself was very comfortable. The hotel's location is great, close to the ancient town – just a ten-minute walk. There's also a local market, Jinjia Market, nearby which is fun to explore, and lots of restaurants, so it's super convenient.
However, I do have a couple of complaints: 1. The handheld and overhead showerheads in our bathroom weren't very good. The water sprayed everywhere erratically, and the handheld shower was so close to the bathroom door that water kept flowing out underneath it and onto the floor, soaking the bathmat. 2. The hotel restaurant seemed to have poor ventilation. During breakfast, the hallway was filled with a strong cooking smell, and the elevator had it too. Our clothes even ended up smelling of cooking oil! We reported this to the front desk, and they did take some action which improved it a bit. Other than that, everything else was fine. It's a good place to stay and offers good value for money.

As a loyal member of Holiday Inn Express, I once suggested upgrading to smart toilets at the Xi'an Holiday Inn Express and replacing TVs with large projectors at the Shenzhen Holiday Inn Express. Now, the newly opened Holiday Inn Express Lijiang Ancient Town has perfectly met these expectations. It maintains its usual high standard of cleanliness and neatness, and has even gone a step further with smart toilets and large projection TVs. The fresh look is delightful.
