"Place is located at the Main Street. Staffs are so friendly and fast in their service. Room is clean and the amenities are pretty complete (especially as family of four, the mini fridge, plates, spoons, knife, cups, microwave, are very helpful). The only unpleasant thing is we can hear our neighbors talking and they are pretty loud, but not during the night."

"I am writing to formally express my very serious dissatisfaction regarding the condition of my room and the overall standard of service during my stay. To be completely honest, the situation is far below what any reasonable guest would expect from a hotel of this category and price level. There is clearly long-term dust accumulation on the exhaust fan and in multiple corners of the room. This is not a matter of minor housekeeping oversight for a day or two it reflects a prolonged lack of proper maintenance and cleaning standards. Such conditions are unacceptable for a property that presents itself as a luxury establishment. Even more concerning is the foul, rotten odor coming from the sink water. Every time I brush my teeth or wash my hands, the unpleasant smell is immediately noticeable and deeply disturbing. This raises not only comfort issues, but also serious concerns about hygiene and water safety. At this level of accommodation, guests should never have to question the basic quality of the water provided in their room. I strongly believe this matter requires immediate professional inspection. I chose to stay at your hotel and willingly paid a premium rate because I expected a premium experience including cleanliness, attention to detail, and reliable service. Unfortunately, what I have encountered so far reflects a significant gap between the price charged and the quality delivered. In addition, despite leaving a tip for housekeeping and placing a written note clearly requesting replenishment, my shampoo was not refilled. I was eventually forced to go into the corridor to find another staff member for assistance. Cotton swabs were also not replenished for three consecutive days. These are very basic service expectations that should not require repeated reminders from guests. Taken together, these issues have had a substantial negative impact on my stay and overall impression of the hotel. I find this situation extremely disappointing and frankly inconsistent with the reputation and standards your brand claims to uphold. I would appreciate it if management could review this matter seriously and provide a clear and appropriate resolution."

"We had a pleasant stay at the Arbutus Inn and it was a good base for us to explore Victoria. We chose this hotel because it was affordable and parking was included. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was well equipped with air conditioning, mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and very good lighting. The beds were comfy and the room was mostly quiet during our stay. The bathroom was good and the provided shampoo, body lotion and bar soap for the shower. They do not provide daily housekeeping here but you can pick up more things or put in requests at the front desk. We feel extra attention should be given to the AC unit, mini fridge and shelving for cleaning. The location for the hotel was good. There is a good diner across the street and some decent restaurants nearby. It is a 20 minute walk to Chinatown and 30 minutes to the inner harbour area which are both worth exploring. There are a couple of bus stops nearby which can get you to other areas of the city too. We drove and felt it was easy to get into and out of this area. National car rentals operates an office here as well if you need to rent a car."

"Nice hotel with a character. The room can be a little dates but it fits with the overall vibe of the hotel. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple but had right varieties of food that you won't feel the need to go eat outside. Staff were very nice and accommodating too."

"Oak Bay Beach Hotel is an excellent place to stay. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, which made the experience comfortable and relaxing. The staff are friendly, professional, and always willing to help, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay. "Very clean, the beach is very convenient for walking, the sea view is also good, that is, if you drive a large off-road vehicle, the hotel's parking lot can't stop, you have to stop in the public parking lot that is a distance from the hotel, the overall feeling is good."

"the service was great! i was expecting them to have water facilities (i.e pool or hot tub) so that was a bit disappointing the breakfast was great, although have extra waffle batter out would be helpful! clean rooms, great staff and great location overall i would come back again"

"We have stayed here as a family twice now while vacationing and doing business in the Victoria area and we love it. It will be our go to place now when we want to visit. There are a few restaurants, activities, and walking trails right our your door if you don't feel like driving anywhere and just a 20 minute drive to downtown Victoria if you feel like touring. We stayed in the 1 bedroom and love the quality and size of the room. The bedroom is very large with a desk area for working and the ensuite is super nice. The bed was very comfortable. If you don't want to use the pull out bed as an extra bed, you can ask for a roll away bed which we did. It was much more comfortable than an average roll away bed, as it is a regular mattress, not a folding mattress. Our balcony overlooked the golf course and was very relaxing to sit on it and just enjoy nature. Also, there is secure underground parking that was easy to access. We received excellent service during our entire visit."

"Our family stayed at the night on the last day of Labour Day long weekend, so we felt less busy. It’s a good stay for going to Botanical Beach at Port Renfrew. The Ella beach nearby is awesome for sunset. The room is spacious for four of us. We are happy to see lots tiny fishes and 6 seals playing in the hotel private harbour. We did not use the hotel pool coz it looks not so clean. However we enjoyed the complimentary 1 hr tandem kayak very much. See lots wild lives."

"It’s such a fabulous hotel! The location is perfect — very convenient for visiting all the main attractions. The staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again next time I’m in Victoria."
