"Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent and replenished frequently so was always fresh. The bar was welcoming and reasonably priced. Our little dog was with us and made a complete fuss of by both staff and customers which she loved. Overall a lovely stay in a great hotel in an ideal location for accessing cardiff and surrounding areas."

"Decent hotel, centrally located close to the train station making it a very convenient place to stay. Staff very welcoming and took into account my special request and booked me a quiet room which was appreciated.
Breakfast, nothing special, just like any other hotel breakfast in the uk. Good views at the breakfast area, staff on hand to help and often going out of their way to help.
Service was 10/10.
Rooms themselves felt a little old and could do with a touch up but comfy enough for a short stay! Coffee machine too!"

"I requested a room away from the road and got one which was appreciated. Really warm welcome from reception staff on arrival and in the restaurant at breakfast, which was excellent. Reception areas, bar, restaurant and lifts were all modern, clean and offered plenty of seating. Our room was very clean and the bed/pillows were very comfortable. If i was being really picky the room, bathroom and corridor could probably do with a refurb or bit of tlc but for a 1 or 2 night stay the hotel ticks all the boxes and we were really pleased that we chose Holiday Inn."

The Mercure Cardiff is located in the docklands district of Tiger Bay, 3 miles from Cardiff city centre. The location inspired its design, with a copper aesthetic and Welsh love spoons, textiles and miners hats displayed. The hotel is easily accessible by road, with the M4 close by and on-site parking available. We have 11 meeting rooms for business conferences and a gym for exercising. Many local attractions are nearby, including Cardiff Castle, ICC Wales, the Royal Mint and Principality Stadium.
"I stayed here for a business trip for one week. The room seemed to be clean but it is so dark that you can’t really tell if it is clean or not. That’s actually an issue - the lightening is bad. I couldn’t really work in the room since it had only a yellow ambient lightening and not a normal main source of light. The bathroom can be slightly cold if you don’t leave the door open so that warm air from the A/C can enter. It is shameful that they don’t have a breakfast included, especially for long stays in the hotel which is not so cheap and out of the center… at least one small sandwich would make things better, but nop 👎🏼. Another thing is that the area is not very nice. Unless you have to do something in that area, i don’t recommend you to stay. I was even told by taxi drivers to not walk around alone after it gets dark. Before I knew that, I did take a walk and it really felt a bit unsafe. The staff was ok, I didn’t have much contact with them. Only had an incident when I arrived - they couldn’t find me in their system (it was booked under other name by mistake but I actually changed it a week before arrival so I don’t know why they didn’t have updated information). There is a small gym, but almost all machines, except one, are for cardio exercises. Almost no restaurants or shops in the area."

The location is perfect — just a short walk from the train station. The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. KKay-aLocation to public transport and local attractions was convenient. The accommodation was comfortable but it would have been better if there was a floor plan where the rooms are located as only 3 rooms were on the main floor and the others were accessible via stairs, which are narrow. Our room was outside the main house in the back. If you are travelling with lots of luggage or big, heavy suitcases, be mindful that there are no lifts. Housekeeping was a bit disappointing. Modern fittings and energy saving features were a plus.

BBrifertvI had a very good experience staying at Hilton Cardiff. The hotel felt extremely safe and well managed throughout my stay. One thing I noticed is that they are very strict about not allowing visitors after 9 PM. At first, it was a bit disappointing, but honestly, it also made me feel much safer knowing they take security seriously.
The service was excellent from beginning to end. The staff were always kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed, which made the whole experience feel very welcoming.
My room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It was also cleaned during my stay, which I really appreciated and added to the overall comfort.
The location is another big advantage the hotel is just steps away from Cardiff Castle, making it perfect for exploring the city. It’s also only about a 20 minute walk from Cardiff Central railway station, which made getting there and around very convenient.
One morning I decided to try the breakfast buffet, and it was definitely worth it. There were many options to choose from, including pastries, hot food, fruit, and drinks. They also had coffee machines with very good coffee, which made the breakfast experience even better.
Another highlight was the bar downstairs it had a great atmosphere and was a really nice place to relax after a day of exploring.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cardiff, especially if you value comfort, excellent service, a great location, and above all, feeling safe during your stay.

GGuest UserGreat location to the city centre, car park at hotel with 55 spaces and at a rate of £25 per night, very secure and well lit. Staff very friendly and available 24 hours a day. We had a free upgrade to a Kings Superior Suite which was a very spacious room, although the bathroom was quite small compared to the room size, non the less was a nice touch and discount coupons in with our key card for 10% off food and drinks and four vouchers for free coffees, which also was a nice touch. Will definitely stay here again.

Staff at reception/bar couldn't have been more helpful when I struggled with the check in units! Room was fine, quiet & with everything I needed. Sunday night but restaurant was still open so had lovely meal there & breakfast the next morning always a cracker. Note their deal if you're having both by the way.

Hotel was busy and at breakfast it was hard to find a table free or cleaned for you. Coffee area was very untidy and littered and floor by food felt slippy and the area was messy with food. Room was nice and spacious. Our TV didn't work, there was a cut cable on it. Don't think I'd go again but once area is developed it could be a good place

Mainly self check-ins which loses the personal touch I feel and not too happy charged extra for parking giving the location of the hotel.

MMrs j PlunkettStayed at this hotel for five days the beds was very comfortable. Rooms are very clean. Waitrose and Lidl‘s two minute walk regular buses into Cardiff. Breakfast available at the hotel. Staff are absolutely lovely and always ready to help. She’s a very friendly hotel with country walks nearby rooms have bath with a shower always hot water available me and my husband had a very comfortable pleasant stay well definitely return the hotel is more of a motel but would not hesitate recommending as you have everything you need the rooms are basic but do you have a kettle tea and coffee supplied clean towels extremely comfortable bed and the rooms are clean staff are very welcoming and friendly
