"stayed at this hotel and used the spa many times before and have always had a much better experience, which is why I chose to return. Unfortunately, my stay on 27 May 2026 was extremely disappointing. When checking in, I was asked if I would like breakfast and was told it was very nice. Sadly, the breakfast was awful. The bacon was so hard it could barely be cut, the sausages were stone cold, and the rest of the cooked breakfast was dry and cold. I mentioned this to a waitress, who showed no concern, and when I raised it again at reception and asked for a refund, I was refused. I have attached a photo showing the quality of the breakfast. I was also disappointed to discover there was an additional charge to use the spa. I booked through Trip.com, and nowhere on my booking confirmation did it mention extra spa fees. When I queried this at reception and showed my booking details, I was simply told I should have checked the hotel’s website. I do not feel this is acceptable, as any additional charges should be clearly stated at the time of booking. What disappointed me most was the lack of customer service throughout my stay. My concerns about both the breakfast and the spa charges were dismissed rather than addressed, and staff showed very little understanding or willingness to help. This experience was completely different from the positive stays I have had at this hotel in the past. Sadly, based on this visit, I would not recommend the hotel and will think very carefully before returning. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both the customer service and overall guest experience."

"We were given a quiet room as requested, which we really appreciated. However, there was a leak in the room and the bathroom drain had an unpleasant smell. The hotel also charges an extra £5 per person for access to the pool, which was disappointing. Generally speaking, the hotel is fine and the staff are polite, but the property feels a bit run down and does not offer good value for money. Breakfast was acceptable — the hot food was served hot, although we found it a little too salty."

"Last minute decision to stay over in Cardiff and this is in an ideal location and reasonable price. Staff at reception/bar couldn't have been more helpful when I struggled with the check in units! Room was fine, quiet & with everything I needed. Sunday night but restaurant was still open so had lovely meal there & breakfast the next morning always a cracker. Note their deal if you're having both by the way."

"Lovely stay again. Friendly service and pleasant staff. After having an issue with the car park lift we got an upgrade which included access to the executive lounge which was a lovely touch. Drinks, snacks and hot food included. Its not out first stay here and we will stay here again in the future."

"Please note that Travelodge hotels in the UK do not offer luggage storage services. Because we arrived early and our room wasn't ready yet, early check-in was not an option, and the hotel could not hold our bags. We had no choice but to transport our heavy luggage to a nearby third-party storage facility. Aside from this logistical issue, the rest of the amenities were standard and acceptable."

"Great location, parking is £10 with plenty spaces early afternoon. Room was huge, modern and clean. Shower was great despite being on the 5th floor. There’s everything and more you need in the room. Staff was helpful and friendly both at check-in and out. Breakfast was okay, not a huge selection but it gets you going for the day. I would be back without a doubt. Me and my doggie enjoyed our stay very much!☀️🐾"

"I really liked the hotel! The complimentary breakfasts were wonderful. Right by the hotel, there's a pond with ducks, koi, and swans with their little ones. You can even buy food for them at the hotel for a symbolic 50 pence. The room was neat and pleasant, and it even had an iron and ironing board."

"Staff were amazing!! Can’t thank them enough for guiding us along this trip. Sadly the room was not up to standard, Really disappointed with the bathroom, silverfish in the sink and bath, shower was unusable due to clogged trains, beds were clean. Room included iron and board alongside other little amenities. General hygiene of the hotel was great, downstairs was beautiful, although we didn’t eat/ drink from the bar and restaurant it did look very nice. View was beautiful but would’ve been nicer if the windows were clean and hairless."
