📍 Kingsway, Greyfriars Rd, Castle

"Everything was fine, but we didn't have a good view despite paying for a high-floor room. Also, there was only one bathrobe in our room rather than two, but they gave us one more when we asked. And the bathroom sink drain had a problem, so water barely passed through. Overall, the breakfast, pool facilities, and luggage storage were excellent for us. My one less star for cleanliness was due to a dirty wardrobe we had. But the room was fine and clean."

Cardiff Marriott Hotel

Cardiff Marriott Hotel ★★★★

📍 Mill Ln, Castle

"This was my first time staying at a Marriott, and it certainly lives up to its reputation as a well-established hotel. Many hotels in the UK clean every three days, but Marriott cleans daily and provides drinking water and biscuits every day. Location: It's about a 5-10 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station, depending on how fast you walk. It's quite close, with hardly any turns – just follow the road straight. It's also very close to the city center for shopping; you can just stroll over. The bathroom is quite spacious and bright, and the lighting is good, making it suitable for putting on makeup. There's a bathtub, but the shower screen only covers half of it, so if you move around a lot while showering, water might splash everywhere. The room size is decent. After opening a 28-inch large suitcase, there's still plenty of space to walk around. There's also a large full-length mirror, but it faces the bed, which some Chinese guests might find bothersome. The only minor drawback is that the air conditioning wasn't very effective at cooling. Although it wasn't hot during my three days in Cardiff, I wanted it to be a bit cooler, but it didn't really work."

📍 Custom House Street, Castle

"We stayed in twin room just one night here. First of all, I was astonished the well cost performance this hotel offered us for its convenient location, well facilities and affordable price. Also, they have lots of variety morning buffet and dinner options with unexpensive price. When I visit Cardiff next time, I would definitely choose here again."

Travelodge Cardiff Central Queen Street ★★★

📍 The Friary, Castle

"We definitely did not have a great experience staying in this hotel - I would NOT recommend. There was no air conditioning in the room we stayed in. They offered 2 different fans, both of which not being the best of quality. There was lots of noise coming from the main street outside the hotel, granted this is not the hotel’s fault but made it difficult for sleeping. On the second day of our stay, both of our key cards stopped working, conveniently happening at 12pm - their check out time. There was no one available at reception to help us, instead we had to call a phone number and someone had to come down to assist us (which took 15 minutes), meanwhile I was stuck in the corridor in my pyjamas. The elevator situation was also concerning - one of the elevators seemed very unsafe. The lights were dingy and dark and it made loud, squeaky noises whilst going up and down. Overall, not the best experience, but you definitely get what you pay for."

"This is the third time I stayed here. Its the location near Queen St. and not too far from Cardiff Uni. Easy access to train and the National Coach. It's clean but very small and with zero refreshments in the room Customer service is GREAT. Has very good customer experience with Louis and Alice at the front desk."

Travelodge Cardiff Central Queen Street ★★★
"Stayed for two nights for the 100 cricket match. Unfortunately this was Friday & Saturday. Hotel is in the heart of the city in a very noisey area which goes through the night, then at dawn the road cleaners start.. Hotel room was very dirty and apparently they only clean it if you stay for more than 5 nights. No aircon so very hot room. Very poor amenities no shower gel, hair drier or coffee. I would not recommend this Hotel. "
