Temporary itinerary, so it was more than seven o'clock in the evening that day, and arrived before nine o'clock. Because it was a homestay, I needed to check in by myself. At that time, the store did not reply to the information in time. I contacted the small housekeeper directly. The response was quite timely and gave praise ~.
The environment is good, the health is also very good, the bed is very big, I belong to the higher sleep requirements, the living environment gives full marks!
A little distance from the University Town of Coimbra, but it is very convenient to take a taxi. Overall, I am very satisfied with ~.

AndyInBangkokA superb historic property under private management and ownership - actually, in the ownership of the same family for over 400 years altho’ now a member of the Small Luxury Hotels marketing system affiliated with Hilton. The property in its adjoining Gardens are a destination in themselves, along with the nearby (400m) Santa Clara monastery. They may be sufficient for some visitors, but it’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Coimbra and it’s main historical area.
Arthur Wellesley - aka Viscount Wellington - was a visitor during his Iberian campaign, so you’re in good company.
Staff are superb and obviously hand picked by the owner. The receptionist when I arrived (Evening of Sunday 16 February) was simply the best I’ve ever experienced, Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo included. Genuinely fascinating to talk to about the history of the building and some of the previous guests (famous but ‘passed’ celebrities so no confidence is breached).
Best to stay in the rooms in the main building if possible, if tales of the previous occupant intrigue. Although the spa Is impressive – up to best Thai standards - and I guess the adjoining spa rooms may be equally good.
Overall, an absolute gem that far exceeded expectations.

We stayed two nights in apartment 2.2 - one bedroom with a small office room which has a desk and single bed. Location was great, being right off the main pedestrian strip in the old town area, so very atmospheric and convenient for restaurants. Check-in is at Hotel Oslo, about 4min walk away so you will have to walk with your luggage for a few minutes, including up some stairs. The apartment building also does not have a lift, so you will need to be able to carry your luggage up stairs within the building. I don't think you would be able to call an Uber or taxi to the street in front of the building as it is very narrow so bear this in mind. Some other minor points I noticed about the apartment which you may find helpful:
- It directly faces another building on a narrow street, so the apartment doesn't really get natural sunlight
- There is a washer but no dryer - it took a whole day for our clothes to dry and the rack sat in the living room
- The apartment fittings are starting to feel a bit worn down

We very much enjoyed our stay at Coimbra Monumentais. The location is absolutely perfect being so close to the steps up to the University. The facilities were fine. My only suggestion for improvement is to automatically send the check in information rather than asking us to ask for it. I missed that point in the reservation. Most of our stays were with Air BnB and they automatically send the information a day or two in advance. We came to the back door (the 7A address) and had an issue with getting in. Once in, we were very well looked after. Thanks so much to Mariannna!

The parking lot outside the hotel says that the hotel is dedicated, but the hotel said that they don't know what the situation is. It is recommended to park in the parking lot downstairs. There is no place to eat nearby. The facilities are generally old.

Self-check-in is very convenient, the landlord will send an email in advance to inform the process and password, and there is free parking across the street, which is simple and easy to understand. There is a food area near the hotel. The price of the roadside shop is cheaper than that of the big city. The dishes are very generous. It is very pleasant to stroll along the river after eating.

a4292The hotel is in the city center, within walking distance of the monastery and city hall, and there are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, making life very convenient. Parking is in the public underground parking lot not far away, which is free and very good. The breakfast tastes good.

Hotel close to public transport, including Coimbra train stations. Large and clean room with minibar and room service and other services available through the hotel's App, very practical.

Excellent breakfast (unfortunately only from 7.30 hours available), great location. Good parking garage right next to the hotel (freely crack but it finally can park your mid-sized car). We were in a room on the first floor, on the street and haven't heard anything outdoor (when the window is closed). Good price-quality ratio. nice and helpful staff.
The swimming pool is inside which it is tight and many things did not work (including shower at the pool and sauna), and bathroom is required (but people went without having to shower in the bathroom and there was no mention of this).
