"The hotel's location is excellent; it's within walking distance of attractions like Santa Clara Monastery across the river. The Garden of Tears is a bit further, but still an 18-minute walk, and comfortable as long as the sun isn't too strong. Walking to university attractions, while not far, involves climbing a hill, similar to Chongqing. The breakfast selection, though limited, included meat, eggs, milk, and coffee, which was decent. The rooftop view was beautiful, but the food and drinks, while complimentary, had a limited variety. Unfortunately, river-view rooms weren't available when booking through Ctrip, which was a disappointment. The hotel is already quite expensive; a room with a view would have been even better for a slightly higher price. This time, the room window faced a wall, and the bathroom and shower were uniquely decorated, somewhat compensating for the lack of a river view."

"I have mixed feelings about my experience in this hotel, the reason is that it has an unusual concept with a design-oriented approach, which attracted a designer like me. As I checked in late and tired, the friendly staff offering me an ice cold beer was a nice start. The fact that the room was a windowless box made me a little uneasy at first, although I am not claustrophobic, but I was relieved by the good lighting and the rain shower. The hotel is really a must-experience and appeals more to young guests with its more affordable price compared to others. The only negative point was that it wasn't clean enough, the sheet metal on the bed and dust on the floor prevented the perfect experience."

"A very well-located hotel with very friendly and competent staff, good customer service, helpfulness, and information. The facilities were very clean and well-marked, and the room was comfortable enough, but it lacked a small table, as there was nowhere to put the computer for normal use. The mattress and room temperature were good. The bathroom was not as spacious as it was. You had to walk in, and, for example, using the sink to simply wash your hands would spill all over the floor, as it was a "minimalist" 30 x 20 cm. The toilet bowl was barely roomy, and the shower screen was just enough to move around. As I said, the bathroom was barely 3 square meters. The continental breakfast was very poor, not worth the extra cost."

Head left out of the hotel, climb a very long set of stairs, and in about 16 minutes you're at the University of Coimbra. The main shopping street is also within a 5-minute walk. As shown in the picture, there's a paid parking lot nearby, which is super convenient if you're driving."

"Excellent stay at Sapientia Boutique Hotel. The location is superb, just a short three-minute walk uphill to the university, making it ideal for exploring Coimbra’s historic centre. Check-in service was outstanding. The front desk team were patient, professional, and especially helpful in assisting our group with last-minute room adjustments for two guests who were less comfortable with stairs. Although an upgrade fee applied, the staff kindly took time to show us the available room options so we could choose the most suitable arrangement. Their care and attentiveness were greatly appreciated. Breakfast was also particularly good, with a quality selection and a very pleasant start to each day. Highly recommended for service, comfort, and location."
