"Even though we only stayed one night at Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel before an early flight, the experience was lovely and a clear standout compared to other nearby options. Our room was more affordable than the one we had at SCP, yet it was significantly more spacious, clean, and comfortable. We even had a private balcony, which added a really nice touch. The setting was serene, surrounded by beautiful banyan trees and with easy access to walking paths along the ocean. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming! perfect for a restful night before travel. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what the property had to offer. Highly recommend it if you're staying in Hilo."

"The location is excellent, in the town center, with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. It's convenient for visiting the volcano and close to the airport. Cleanliness, at least superficially, seems acceptable. Breakfast ends around 8:00 or 8:30, consisting of chocolate waffles and coffee… Is there a deposit for check-in? All credit card information was manually entered, which was a first for me and made me very uneasy afterwards. My security code was also specifically verified… I suggest checking if cash is available."

"It was my first time in Hawaii and I didn't make a reservation in advance. I made the reservation in a hurry and checked in very late after traveling a long time. The hotel customer service was quite nice. The room was quite simple, but the view outside the window was beautiful. Overall, the price/performance ratio was very high. "The hotel itself is better than expected; You can tell that they went through a massive renovation in order to give a chill vibes based stay (on the outside). Inside of the room, it’s definitely an old hotel… I liked the furniture, but the windows were too open for my liking (you get the feeling that anyone can look into your room); Not as much of an issue since we used the curtains! The bath towels were covered in hair (ranging from long strands to tiny ***** pieces) which I found to be disgusting. The staff were more than willing to switch out the towels (there was still hair on them but a little dusting off mainly did the job). There was tiny ***** hair pieces in the bathtub as well, but I washed them down the drain so no biggie. The main issue that I had with this stay was that you could hear everything that was going on in rooms next door or outside. We heard loud screaming and fighting into the early ams, and it took a while for them to stop. This is not the hotel’s fault, but if you do stay here, keep in mind that the rooms aren’t very spacious, you can hear everything, and there might be hair in your towels. Overall, I really loved staying here and found it to be quite charming. The view in front of the hotel is INSANE. Though I listed negative traits about this hotel, I feel that it’s important to give some transparency to readers of this review. Mostly everyone goes into a hotel thinking that it’s 1000% clean and perfect. However, for me, the negative reviews are what I look for so that I know what to expect. You will definitely love the vibes and views this hotel has to offer, as well as the friendliness of the staff who worlds here."

"The hotel is so beautiful, there is a large internal area, you need to drive from the iron gate for ten minutes, along the beautiful road, there are small wild boars on the road, next to the waterfall, there is a waterfall behind the hotel room, only for internal residents , You can swim and boat in the pond under the waterfall, and you can also participate in their rich activities such as climbing from the waterfall or visiting their farm. Breakfast is delicious. We did not have the opportunity to have dinner. It is said that it is their chef’s no-menu dinner. "There was no air conditioning, so it wasn't too hot in the summer. February was just right; the fan provided a comfortable gentle breeze. The hotel had WiFi, but it was extremely slow, so I mostly used my own internet during my stay. I accidentally left my Apple earphones at the hotel, and they notified me via email through Ctrip. However, they only offered to keep them for one week. I had already left the Big Island for Oahu. I emailed the hotel again to ask if they could ship them back, but received no reply. After contacting the hotel through Ctrip customer service, they replied that they could only keep them for one week and wouldn't ship them back—a point deduction for service. Otherwise, the environment, facilities, convenience, and cleanliness were impeccable for the price; it was excellent."

"Tropical wooden cabin. Just a heads-up, it's a two-story building with no elevator. The facilities are very well-maintained, and the kitchen is great. The balcony is super comfortable, and the neighborhood is very quiet. At night, you'll hear frogs and insects, and during the day, birdsong. It's very close to the beach, just a 5-minute walk to get into the water. Be aware that there aren't many places to eat or drink nearby, so you'll need to stock up beforehand. If you plan to do laundry, make sure to get coins from the front desk upon arrival. The front desk closes after 5:30 PM. The owner is a very nice Vietnam War veteran. There's also a very friendly cat at the property. This place really gives you a taste of local life."

"힐로에서는 아이들과 편하게 보내고 싶어서 침실이 2개 있는 방을 찾다가 예약했는데, 너무 만족 스러웠습니다. 무서보다 깨끗하고 15분거리면 Walmart, target, Ross 등 다양한 쇼핑스토어가 있어서 외식을 줄일 수 있었어요. 그리고 콘도 바로 앞에 커피숍은 맛도 있고 샌드위치도 팔아서 가벼운 식사를 즐기기에 너무 좋았습니다. 벌레도 없이 깨끗하고 프라이빗사고 주차도 할 수 있어서 아주 편하게 잘 지냈어요~ 블랙샌드비치는 1시간 15분, 힐로 볼케이노 공원은 40분 거리인데 차를 렌트하면 다녀오기에 불편함이 없습니다. 발코니 뷰도 멋져서 아침마다 커피마시면서 바라보기에 너무 좋았어요."
