I've stayed here many times, and the service is always excellent. This time, it was a family trip, and my husband arrived at the hotel first. The hotel was busy, but the staff helped upgrade our room type. Special thanks to Benson & Sandy for their thoughtful service. The concierge staff were also very proactive in helping with our golf bags and luggage. I'll definitely be back for my next golf trip!

We absolutely love this hotel!! We have been here several times since 2011. It is located a little away from West Lake, with didi that it is so easy to get around! And it is absolutely vital that you can get a break from all the crowds and noise of the big city when you get back to your hotel. Rose Garden is surrounded by green trees and mountains, it’s quite and calm and the outside swimming pool is such an oasis. If it’s raining and thundering, too hot or too cold the indoor pool is also really good, and there are nice sofas around the pool for enjoying yourself. The staff is incredible!!! They are quietly there and super aware of you and your needs. They, especially Stone the manager, helped my husband so much with him planing a surprise visit on our wedding anniversary, they made sure he got upgraded to a better room so he was next to us, helped him send flowers, made a cake for us from them and kept the whole thing a secret from me🌹🩷 They helped me and my daughters order tea to be delivered to the hotel, send a package to a friend in China, remember what we liked to eat and drink in the morning and always kind and aware. I know they work hard and still they always smile at us and are ready to help!! Most of them have worked there for many many years, so they know what they’re doing 👌 I am so grateful, because they are a big part of our visits being so memorable! The hotel is so clean, the rooms a beautiful and spacious and there is a coffee machine in the room 🙏🏻 the restaurant in the hotel is really good Chinese food the Cafe cand make some good western food choices, drinks and ice cream, the breakfast buffet offers a huge selection of Chinese food and western food and fruit, children’s buffet with candyfloss and fun for kids. The whole hotel is quite, tranquil, beautiful, clean and cozy!!! We always get a little sad when we leave and even though we want to travel to se other parts of the world, we always have Rose Garden and Hangzhou in our hearts and plans to come back. And we will🌹🤝🩷

I booked this hotel for my trip to Hangzhou, and it was quite convenient for getting around. Next time I'm in town, I'd definitely stay here again. You can contact Wangyue for reservations. This hotel offers both breakfast and late-night snacks, which is super convenient, and they even have a self-service gym. The room was spacious and bright, making for a very comfortable stay.

Before arriving, my expectations weren't very high, as online reviews were mixed. However, once I got there, I found the facilities to be quite impressive and beautiful. From Shanghai, I took the high-speed train to Hangzhou Fuyang Station. The hotel arranged a Didi (ride-hailing service) for pickup, and it was about a 15-minute drive from Fuyang Station to the hotel. As a Black Diamond member, I was upgraded to a family duplex suite, which was fantastic. The biggest bonus was that it started raining right after I got to the room, and then a huge rainbow appeared right before my eyes. The sound of rain pattering in the courtyard was also lovely. The room had a very Japanese aesthetic. The housekeeping was good, but there was a section of straw mat flooring which might be difficult to clean, as my white socks turned black after walking on it. The private hot spring featured a wooden bathtub, which felt very authentic. The shower area was designed like a Japanese onsen, with a seated shower. The hotel's public hot spring pool was large, and there were also outdoor soaking pools. The most surprising highlight was the restaurant's Omakase. At 600 RMB per person, it was excellent value for money and very delicious. Around 8 PM, the hotel has an evening ritual where they light up the area and release floating lanterns on the water – quite romantic. The spa was a bit mediocre, nothing special. In the B1 public area, fruits, snacks, and beverages were all-you-can-eat and drink. While the price of a suite at 4000-8000 RMB per night is a bit high, the overall experience was good and worth a visit.

It’s been a long time since I last left a hotel review, and this 5-star rating comes from a bit of a rollercoaster experience. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay, but the first couple of days were quite challenging. On my first night, Hangzhou suddenly turned cold, and the room was extremely chilly. The heating was not available, and no immediate solution was offered. For a 4-star hotel, I do think there should be a basic contingency plan. Simple options like portable heaters or even blankets should be available. I was only offered an extra duvet, which was not very practical since a hotel room is not just for sleeping. I asked for a blanket but there was none, which felt like a missing basic amenity. That same night, I was woken up around 1 to 2 AM by a wrong call from the front desk. There was no apology and no acknowledgment of the late hour. Because of this, I overslept the next morning and was late for work. After a long and very cold day, I returned to my room only to find it even colder, as the window had been left open for ventilation. At that point, I was quite upset. However, after I raised these issues, the hotel handled the situation very well and professionally. I was moved to a warmer room, and they provided thoughtful gestures like a fruit plate and an extra heater from the front desk. What mattered most was the attitude and the care. The facilities are solid, hotel design is comfortable, and the resting view is beautiful. This hotel used to be an InterContinental (perhaps a benchmark in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region), but after the InterContinental brand pulled out, the owner operated it independently under the name 'Free InterContinental Palace'. After the InterContinental de-branding, the hotel significantly increased its recreational activities, adding tennis courts, sound healing, and more. Among the resort hotels in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area, places like the Xihu State Guest House and Fuchun Resort are quite large, but this hotel's actual scale is even more astonishing. Besides the hotel's own area, the entire Xianshan Peninsula is essentially its public space: in early summer, there are bayberry orchards, and in autumn, the mountains are covered with tangerine trees. You can hike to the top of the back mountain (about 2-3 km), and there's a hidden small 'canyon' in the mountains. If you don't want to dine at the hotel, there's a 'farmhouse restaurant' next door (Xianshan Restaurant). A few hundred meters from the entrance is the lighthouse area, which used to be a pebble beach and has now been converted into a coffee shop/bar. As for the hotel's own hardware, it's roughly on par with the international resort hotels in Yalong Bay around 2010-2012 (Qiandao Lake InterContinental/Hilton/Sheraton all opened around the same time). It's very well-maintained, old but not dilapidated. Compared to the minimalist, trendy new hotels of the past two years, hotels from this period have much more character. Most people come to Qiandao Lake to escape the summer heat, but October-November is when Xianshan Peninsula is at its most beautiful. The tangerines are ripe, the lake water is exceptionally blue on crisp, clear days, and by November, a few ginkgo trees in the hotel turn golden. This hotel also has some special advantages: for example, breakfast is served until 11 AM and includes a dedicated children's dining area. From 9 PM to 11 PM, there's a late-night canteen offering various snacks and instant noodles from all over the world (literally every type of noodle from everywhere!). The concierge team's service is also very attentive and prompt. What can I say? Perfect weather, perfect hotel – 100 out of 10 points! 🥰

Choosing to stay at the Midtown Shangri-La during this trip to Hangzhou was an absolute 10/10 experience! As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I was captivated by the unique lotus chandelier. The layered lighting swaying gently creates that unmistakable, gentle charm of the Jiangnan region. You simply have to check out the 'Sky Mirror' on the 13th floor. Standing here offers an expansive view; looking out towards West Lake, you can see the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon resting quietly on the water. The way the lake and sky reflect each other creates an incredible atmosphere that makes for amazing photos. The hotel is very close to Hubin, making it super convenient to stroll around West Lake or go out for food. The staff were warm and attentive, the service was meticulous, and the room was comfortable and clean. Whether you're here for a vacation or a short trip, it's a fantastic choice and definitely a top-tier hotel to consider when visiting Hangzhou!

We make an annual two-night trip to Hangzhou, and this time we chose the Banyan Tree. I had an impressive experience at the Shanghai Banyan Tree back in 2015, but every property has its own unique style. The Hangzhou resort is nestled inside the Xixi National Wetland Park—a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle with an exceptional ecological environment. The moment we stepped into the lobby, our eyes were treated to a breathtaking, expansive view that we instantly fell in love with, making it feel like a home away from home for the next two nights. Walking into the guest room brought another pleasant surprise: the mini-fridge was fully stocked with complimentary drinks. The room was spacious, and both the bathroom and living room felt very grand. Stepping out onto the balcony, we were greeted by the delightful fragrance of sweet osmanthus. I just wanted to sit on the terrace, sipping tea and enjoying the floral scent while basking in the heavenly outdoor sunshine. The hotel's night view is equally enchanting, with the lake mirroring the scenery to create a serene and picturesque atmosphere. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety, and what made it even more delightful was sitting by the lake amid the scent of osmanthus, accompanied by a few clever little white ducks hoping for a treat. With such an idyllic lake view, a wonderful day truly begins with a wonderful breakfast. Since it happened to be the osmanthus-blooming season and we had a few sightseeing spots to visit, we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to just relax and enjoy the hotel. In fact, the fragrance of osmanthus all over the property was already intoxicating, with lush osmanthus trees everywhere. Aside from the slightly inconvenient location—driving is recommended—we were completely satisfied with our stay at the Banyan Tree Hangzhou. The service also deserves praise; staff were responsive to every request. We didn't even have time to try out the pool or wellness classes, so two nights felt a bit too short. It's no wonder the hotel is always so popular.

The flower arrangements and tea sets at Xin Hotel are beautiful. In the morning, a wellness butler even leads guests on a mindful walking meditation in Xixi Wetland's Hundred Birds Garden. Afterwards, there's a plant mandala healing session. The hotel truly excels in its aesthetic details. It's also a perfect place for someone looking to escape daily routines, find peace, and relax. The wellness butler is thoughtful and attentive, offering personalized healing experiences and companionship. It was a truly worthwhile experience.

Staying at the Conrad Hangzhou was the most pleasant surprise of my entire trip, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Yonnie from the Guest Relations team. Even before my arrival, Yonnie proactively reached out to meticulously confirm my preferences and made preparations in advance. During my stay, whenever I had a question or a request, she responded instantly the moment I reached out. She is warm, friendly, and truly empathetic, always putting herself in the guest's shoes. Many details were thoughtfully arranged ahead of time, saving me a lot of hassle. Her professionalism is top-notch; she is well-versed in all hotel services and policies, and her recommendations were practical and reliable. While the hotel's environment and room quality are already fantastic, Yonnie’s heartfelt and attentive service truly elevated the entire experience. Such an outstanding employee deserves to be recognized. A well-deserved five-star review—I look forward to returning!
