Hotel near West Lake Lakeside Area,Hangzhou
Opened in 2023, the Zhongshan West Lake Hotel Hangzhou is a great accommodation choice in Hangzhou. Traveling to the hotel is easy with Hangzhou Railway Station located approximately 3km away and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport roughly 28km away. Being just minutes away from Longxiangqiao Metro Station allows guests to explore the city with ease. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Hubin Qingyu Scenic Spot, San Park and Crossing Hangzhou (Hubin 88 Store) all nearby. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. Guests of this Hangzhou hotel can make use of the parking facilities. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.

"Zhongshan Xizi Hotel Hangzhou, as one of the renowned hotels in Hangzhou's city center situated by West Lake, boasts an unbeatable location that attracts numerous tourists and business travelers alike. Nestled right on the West Lake shore, it's just a few minutes' walk from the West Lake scenic area, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of West Lake's changing seasons and its rich cultural and artistic ambiance. The surrounding area offers excellent public transport links, with various metro and bus lines, making travel incredibly convenient. Furthermore, the hotel's vicinity provides a wealth of amenities, including diverse dining and shopping options, offering great convenience for guests. It truly stands out as an excellent accommodation choice for both business trips and leisure travel. However, despite the hotel's distinct geographical advantages, both its overall service level and hardware facilities still present significant room for improvement in several aspects. Firstly, the hotel's hygiene management is subpar, noticeably impacting the guest experience. While daily room cleaning is performed routinely, it often appears to be superficial, lacking the thorough and detailed cleaning measures expected. Issues with bathroom cleanliness are particularly prominent. Many guests have reported that toilets and sinks are not deeply cleaned, stains frequently remain in bathroom corners and on anti-slip mats, and floor cleaning is often inadequate. This level of hygiene impacts guests' comfort and sense of security, consequently lowering the hotel's overall rating. Secondly, while the service staff generally maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude, proactively offering assistance that is helpful to guests. However, some frontline employees' over-eagerness occasionally verges on interference, particularly their excessive inquiry into personal privacy and itinerary details, which has left some guests feeling uncomfortable or even startled. Exceptional hotel service should achieve a balance between warm hospitality and respect for personal space, avoiding any undue pressure on guests. Zhongshan Xizi Hotel could improve staff service training to not only enhance service skills but also place greater emphasis on protecting guest privacy, ensuring that service is both considerate and non-intrusive. Thirdly, the hotel's breakfast selection is quite limited and fails to cater to diverse preferences. The breakfast menu primarily features Chinese congee and simple pastries, lacking variety. This has left some guests, who seek a more abundant and flavorful breakfast, feeling disappointed. The seating in the breakfast restaurant is rather dense, leading to overcrowding during peak hours and preventing a comfortable dining environment. If the hotel could expand the variety of dishes, offer more diverse flavors, and smartly adjust the seating layout, it would significantly improve the overall breakfast quality and guest satisfaction. Fourthly, several aspects of the hotel's hardware facilities are in urgent need of an upgrade. The elevators are relatively slow, particularly during peak morning and evening hours, forcing guests to queue and wait for considerable periods. Many travelers with significant luggage find the inefficient elevator service quite inconvenient. Increasing the number of elevators and implementing technical improvements would enhance operational efficiency and improve the overall guest flow. Furthermore, the limited number of food delivery robots introduced by the hotel struggles to meet meal delivery demands during peak times, resulting in guests waiting a long time to receive their food, which negatively impacts their dining experience. Deploying more robots or supplementing with human delivery would significantly boost delivery speed and efficiency. Fifthly, the hotel provides a self-service laundry room, which theoretically offers significant convenience for long-stay or independent travelers. Equipped with user-friendly washing machines and dryers, it's suitable for guests with a small amount of clothing to do their own laundry. However, in reality, the laundry room's management is disorganized, lacking clear usage instructions and staff supervision, which frequently leads to conflicts among guests. Even more concerning, hotel staff sometimes open washing machines and dryers that are currently in use, without any prior notification to guests. This action severely infringes upon guests' privacy and their right to use the facilities. Laundry is a personal and private activity, and the hotel should respect guests' privacy by ensuring any equipment checks adhere to clear regulations and notification protocols. In summary, Zhongshan Xizi Hotel possesses notable strengths regarding its prime location and certain service aspects, with staff generally demonstrating a good attitude. However, substantial room for improvement exists across many crucial details, including the depth of cleanliness, breakfast variety, hardware facilities (especially elevator and meal delivery efficiency), as well as laundry room management and privacy protection. Should the hotel implement meaningful improvements to address these shortcomings in the future, it would significantly enhance guest satisfaction and its reputation, thereby solidifying its position as a more popular and high-quality accommodation option in Hangzhou's West Lake tourist area."

"## 1. Location & Transportation The hotel is housed in Hangzhou's iconic 'Big Golden Ball' landmark (Raffles City), boasting unparalleled panoramic views of the Qiantang River! It's a mere 5-minute walk to Citizen Center Station on Metro Line 4, a 15-minute taxi ride to West Lake, and 20 minutes to Hangzhou East Railway Station. With Raffles City and MixC Mall right next door, it's incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. However, traffic can get quite heavy around the area during evening rush hour, so taking the metro is highly advisable. ## 2. Room Facilities & Hygiene I stayed in a River View King Room this time. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a direct view of the Olympic Sports Center, and the night view was absolutely breathtaking! The facilities, while not brand new, are exceptionally well-maintained: the mattress was perfectly comfortable – neither too soft nor too firm, there was a separate bathtub and shower, and the toiletries were Byredo's 'Mojave Ghost' (a very sophisticated scent). Hygiene was impeccable, with attention to every detail – even the glass windows were spotless, not a single fingerprint in sight."

"I chose this hotel again after my business trip to Hangzhou last month. As it's off-peak season (not summer), the crowds have thinned out considerably, and the breakfast area is much less busy. Breakfast still offers great value for money. The service from the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant was also satisfactory. The room type this time was pretty good. However, perhaps it's the season, but there were quite a few mosquitoes, and my friend ended up with four or five bites overnight. The bed sheets and duvet cover felt a bit damp. I hope the hotel will reinforce its cleaning and hygiene measures."

"I brought my mother to Hangzhou, and we chose to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel. This hotel left a very deep impression on me and created many interesting memories. **Service:** Before arriving, I had considered canceling my Four Seasons reservation, partly because the previous hotel we stayed at was so incredibly comfortable. It had unbeatable views, excellent service, and was only a fifth of the price of the Four Seasons... Later, a Four Seasons staff member called me, rekindling my interest in the trip. Upon arrival, the Four Seasons' service certainly did not disappoint. The lobby supervisor knelt down to speak with us (as we were seated on a low sofa) and carried our luggage all the way to our room. During our stay, they helped us book a travel photoshoot and a reservation at Jin Sha restaurant, among other services. They also drove us around the Four Seasons garden in a lovely little red car, satisfying our curiosity as guests. In the evening, when we went out, a young man from the lobby even gave me mosquito repellent and reminded us to use it. The cleaning staff were also very friendly and always accommodated our requests. Every time we returned, the room was neat and tidy, thank you all very much! The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the 'teacher' of Song Dynasty culture. She was responsible for demonstrating tea brewing and calligraphy to guests. The hotel supervisor said this experience didn't require an appointment and was first-come, first-served. I arrived with my 70-year-old mother at 3:05 PM, and she shooed us away, saying she had an appointment at 3:30 PM... Huh? Wasn't it first-come, first-served? Why would she shoo guests away? After we insisted, she reluctantly agreed, then rushed through the demonstration in about 9 minutes. Her service attitude was a complete opposite to that of the hotel's other staff. **Ambiance:** The environment is exquisite and clean, a luxurious blend of American and Chinese styles. We were very interested in the hotel's architecture, for example, where did those massive wooden beams come from? How were they pieced together? Unfortunately, the hotel didn't provide any related information or explanations. **Facilities:** The use of solid marble and wood is impressive. Although built in 2010, the quality is still excellent. The rooms have smart toilets with heated seats, unlike the cold seats at the West Lake State Guest House. The bathtub is very comfortable with an integrated headrest, and dried chrysanthemum flowers are provided for bathing in the summer. The SPA facilities are very comprehensive, with a layout resembling an alchemy chamber from a cultivation novel. A small stream runs beneath thick stone slabs, with massage rooms on both sides. The heavy iron door leads to a private area complete with a toilet, shower, and hot spring pool, offering excellent privacy. The dim sum lunch at Jin Sha restaurant, the crispy chicken, and the West Lake sweet and sour fish were especially delicious! My mother particularly loved the sweet and sour fish and even finished all the sauce. Breakfast was decent but unremarkable. The space was too small, and the flow for getting food was very poorly designed. Everyone had to queue in the corridor to get dishes, which felt unrefined and lacked the grandeur expected of a luxury hotel. It didn't match the hotel's prestige, and I suggest improvements. Overall, we were satisfied. If 100 is a perfect score, we'd give it a 95."

"I've visited Hangzhou many times, and each time, I only stay at the Grand Hyatt. It always amazes me how checking out never takes more than two minutes there! Just as I stepped out the main entrance recently, a manager rushed out after me and said: ”Madam, I've noticed you're a frequent guest whenever you're back in China. I'm very sorry that a couple of days ago, there was a slight delay in delivering the amenities you requested.” (Honestly, it was perfectly understandable – I was about to head out at the time, and even though it was delivered a bit late, I didn't say anything. In fact, I even smiled and thanked them for their effort; I hadn't even given it a second thought myself!) Me: ”Wow, that's incredibly thoughtful of you! It was something I hadn't even paid attention to. May I ask for your name?” He then handed me his business card and told me to contact him anytime before my next visit. Every time I visit Hangzhou, I only stay at the Grand Hyatt. It's truly the only hotel that feels like a home away from home whenever I'm back in the country. Although the hotel has been around for some years, and despite both being international brands, I personally feel that compared to the somewhat mechanized service at hotels of the Ritz-Carlton caliber, Grand Hyatt Hangzhou offers a more personalized, human touch without sacrificing its high standards. The doormen always greet guests with a genuine, gentlemanly smile when opening the car door. A local friend always suggests I try other hotels in the city for a different experience, but with such consistently excellent service from the Grand Hyatt, I simply can't bring myself to stay anywhere else!"

GGuest UserThe hotel boasts an excellent location, right by West Lake. It's a short walk to Yue Temple pier for boat rides, and the 'Most Memorable Is Hangzhou' show is just a ten-minute journey away. The hotel grounds are quite extensive, but they offer a convenient on-call shuttle service, making it easy to get around. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel's buffet restaurant and at Xinxin Hotel; both options were great. The main restaurant at West Lake State Guest House (the hotel) was more spacious with a wider array of food, whereas Xinxin Hotel felt more refined and offered a larger selection of delicate pastries and dim sum. We also visited the former residence where Chairman Mao drafted the constitution. The exhibition hall was meticulously arranged and is definitely worth a visit!

GGuest UserOur party of 3 adults spent 3 nights at the Fuchun Mountain Golf Resort in early 12/2024.  We came to Fuchun to see the scenaries that had inspired the famous 富春山居圖 painting.  We booked 2 basic rooms (Linyin Garden View), but received free upgrades (Guizhou Lake View) at check in.  I must admit our initial feelings as we arrived was one of creeping doubt, because the Fuyang city streets we had driven through (we drove in from the Hangzhou Xihu area) were very industrial, just giant factories one after another and the immediate area outside the property was just a bunch of small suburban farm homes and shops.  Furthermore, as our car pulled up to the front lobby entrance, no one greeted us.  Not a soul was in sight.  Our driver had to poke his head inside and announce guests are here and service is needed.  From there on, however, things only got better and better.  So, yes, this was a quiet property.  There wasn’t a lot of staff standing about.  But, there was enough personnel to provide all the basic services expected.  And I found they were very friendly, quick to respond, and efficient.  During our 3.5 days here, we explored and enjoyed this beautiful hotel inside and out.  The hotel itself (the main building) was simply grand.  Its design and decor was a perfect balance of East Meets West, modernized traditional, understated elegance.  The layout was a bit of a labyrinth.  There were wings, corridors, and stairs you can go down to find restaurants, spa/gym/pool, conference rooms, sitting nooks, a small boat dock, and even an impressive collection of embroidery art on display.  Our rooms were large and airy, spotless, the ceiling was high, and the windows opened onto the lake.  The bathroom was spacious with a double sink and lots of counter space.  Beds and pillows were very comfortable, definitely in line with 5 star international standards.  Outside, there was a man-made lake with 2 groups of swans (or were they white geese?).  They crisscrossed the lake during the day and slept below our windows at night.  There was also a little children’s playground (with a pair of ducks) and what looked like a small amphitheater.  Several short paths allowed us to walk the sizable grounds.  Early one morning, we followed one across a little brook to the edge of the tea terrace.  Another morning, we strolled down a road flanked by bamboo that led to the beautiful villas that stood apart from the main hotel.  Everywhere, the atmosphere was tranquil and the views spectacular.  We ate most of our meals at the hotel since we were unfamiliar with the area and didn’t really want to go out looking (this was the end of a 2 week trip).  We tried both of the restaurants on-site (the Chinese and the Western/Fusion) and thought they were fine overall, since food/ingredients were fresh and of good quality.  Taste and craft were okay, not great but acceptable.  In truth, we were probably not too demanding at this point, as we had already gorged out during our previous stay in the HZ/Xihu area.  In summary, our family really liked the Fuchun Mountain Golf Resort.  We were very comfortable during our short stay.  We really appreciated the quiet calmness of the place as well as the warm service provided by the entire staff.  We would love to return.  It was an easy car ride from the HZ city area, and it was easy to hire cars to nearby and more distant attractions.  Lastly, for those interested in the 富春山居圖, there is a replica of the painting (both parts and to scale) displayed downstairs in the spa :)

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is great (good location, nice environment), but about an hour after checking in, I had an indescribable feeling. I initially wanted to call Ctrip customer service immediately to cancel the order or complain, but it was hot and I was tired, so I just chalked it up to a stroke of bad luck. After checking in and putting away my luggage, I observed the room, especially the windows facing the lake. There were no buildings taller than our room outside, so I didn't even draw the curtains. After resting for a bit, I took a shower. When I came out, I looked up and saw someone looking into the room from outside. I let out a yelp. It turned out to be construction workers doing repairs. This is simply terrible management. If they're doing repairs, either don't assign guests to that room or inform the guests about the situation. Otherwise, situations like this are really upsetting!

MMuszs5/5 Stars amazing. We recently enjoyed a long weekend at Minho International Resort, staying in the Deluxe Family Loft. Our group included myself, my wife, my mother-in-law, and our twin children. From the outset, we were impressed by the hotel's exceptional service and facilities. Accommodation and Cleanliness: The hotel room was immaculate, with everything in perfect working order. The housekeeping staff were attentive and ensured our stay was comfortable. Public areas throughout the resort were also well-maintained and spotless. Family-Friendly Amenities: The children's play area offered a variety of activities, providing ample space for our kids to play and explore. We also took advantage of the bike rentals, which allowed us to explore the surrounding area, thanks to the staff's helpful recommendations. The swimming pool and sauna were clean and well-maintained, adding to our relaxation. Evening Entertainment: A standout feature was the water and light show, which provided a mesmerizing end to our evenings. Concierge Service: Our concierge, 管家小汪, was exceptionally helpful, adding us on WeChat to assist with any issues or translation needs we encountered. Dining and Bar Experience: While our overall experience was outstanding, there were a couple of areas for improvement. The breakfast offerings were often cold and oily, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the bar did not use fresh ingredients for cocktails and featured unusual recipes, such as a mojito without mint. The bar area itself was quite cold and offered limited snack options. Despite these minor issues, our stay at Minho International Resort was exceptional. It's undoubtedly one of the best hotels we've experienced, and we highly recommend it. We look forward to returning to explore more of the surrounding area.

AAnonymous UserIt was overall an alright stay, don’t expect Japanese standards. Apparently they had a soft opening period and just opened on April 15. You can see that things aren’t running so smoothly yet, trip.com shows that spa needs to be booked a day in advance, but on WeChat they said no reservations required and we can use anytime. The second day we wanted to use the spa our second time, and was told by a staff we couldn’t use it again, which we were confused about. Later other staff said we could. The spa itself had spectacular views, but the outdoor pool weirdly had half eaten and rotten apples floating around. After talking to the spa staff they said it was for aesthetic purposes and guests must have eaten them without knowing that. Worrying hygiene standards 😨 apart from that overall hygiene seems to be alright. All rooms have our own private courtyard so there are two doors, the main wooden door and then the glass door to our actual room. The main wooden door broke down twice - we couldn’t lock it (more like they didn’t fix the problem fully the first time), which wasted our time as we had to sit around to watch the maintenance staff fixing our door. Breakfast was okay but half the dishes were way too salty for my taste. Weird mix of “Western”, “Japanese” and Chinese dishes. Cheaper to buy on the spot (168 yuan as of today). Service was not up to the standard of a hotel of this price point. The staff welcoming us seems like she was reading from a script, we couldn’t hear half the time even after asking her to enunciate clearer twice. Felt like they were here to monitor us more than take care of us. Instead of “how may I help you?”, they actually responded “what’s wrong?” on two separate occasions. I don’t think this is acceptable! Some staff also do not greet guests properly.

IIntrepid Traveller8Lovely hotel in the middle of West Creek/ Xixi National Wetlands Park in Hangzhou. The hotel and service offerings are excellent, located in a very secluded spot away from the hustle and bustle, great for relaxation and enjoying the serene and tranquil surroundings. There is a small lake in the middle of the hotel, which I understand is owned and managed by the hotel. The views are wonderful and better than going to the famed West Lake (way too touristy and crowded). I think this hotel has a lot going for it, even though it’s not a known brand. I would say some things for improvement are as follows: Must, must open a spa. AmanFayun, Banyan Tree, Anh Luh and Four Seasons all have spa’s and they’re at roughly the same price point. This wasn’t a deal breaker for me, but for some people this would put them off from booking here. Gym. This place needs an on-site gym for obsessed exercise freaks like me (and other health obsessives that want to go to an all-inclusive resort). Also, with the yummy high calorie food offerings in the restaurant, I would like to work those calories off and not worry about getting home fatter than when I left! Restaurant – Excellent service from the wonderful manager, who I forgot to ask her name and all her staff. Very good manners from all the staff, very quiet voices, barely can hear them speak amongst themselves. However there needs to be more of an international offering for people that visit from outside China (US/ Europe, India/ South East Asia/ Gulf countries, who all would probably stay here in the future). There should be another restaurant that offers international fayre, as well as the traditional Chinese restaurant, so both sets of visitors are catered for, and more choice is always good for people that stay longer than 3 days. And vegetarian/ vegan options would be very appreciated. The “Savoir resort” is not mentioned on Didi maps or on Baidu maps, and the Chinese name bears absolutely no resemblance to the English name 杭州所见 – 西溪度假酒店. Foreign people may have problems finding this location on their maps/ getting here without help (the less help that is required, the better). The two top-end rooms (6999 yuan a night and 15,000 yuan a night) cannot be booked on 携程 (Ctrip) or Trip.com. I think there should be 5 – 10 pictures on the site showing these rooms as bookable. I take a long time researching a hotel before booking, so the more information available, the better. The boat trip in the hotel is way better than the boat trip offered outside the hotel. I really enjoyed it, but I don’t think many people use it, which is a shame of a great resource. The fact this hotel has its own private lake is something that makes it stand out from the other hotels. PS , I cannot upload my videos of the boat trip inside the hotel's lake because the file is too big :'(

NNICOLAS LUZhejiang Xizi Hotel (also known as Wang Villa) is nestled on the southern shore of West Lake, at the foot of Leifeng Pagoda, amidst the evening glow. Originally built in 1927 as the Wang Yutai Tea Plantation (Wang Villa), it's one of West Lake's four famous gardens. Architect Dai Nianci reimagined its design, blending Chinese and Western architectural elements with a classic Jiangnan garden layout. With three sides bordering the lake, it cleverly utilizes the original hilly terrain and shoreline, scattering buildings in a harmonious and staggered fashion. This creates a seamless integration of architecture, garden, and West Lake itself. Dai Nianci's design is a successful modern interpretation of traditional Jiangnan gardens and a testament to early architects' active exploration of indigenous architectural styles. A stay here offers a comprehensive appreciation and experience of early Chinese contemporary architecture. The staff are all courteous, reflecting the excellent quality and demeanor expected of a long-standing state-owned hotel. Leifeng Pagoda and Changqiao (Long Bridge) are within easy walking distance, offering superb scenery. Jemma at the front desk was warm and attentive, making the check-in process quick and efficient. The concierge buggy was available on demand, making getting around incredibly convenient. Our room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was soft, and we had a particularly good rest. The lakeside scenery is absolutely stunning, and if you wake up early, you might even spot squirrels and wild ducks.

MM437226****My stay here was absolutely fantastic! The hotel environment is elegant and spotless, and the front desk service was warm and attentive, making check-in quick and easy. The room was spacious and bright, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were pristine. I particularly want to commend the lavish breakfast buffet, which offered fresh ingredients and a wide variety of choices. The location is super convenient, within walking distance of the business center. The cleaning staff were incredibly meticulous, thoughtfully replenishing bottled water every day. This hotel offers excellent value for money, and I will definitely choose it again for my next business trip!

GGuest UserThis glowing review is specifically for Zada. As a Ctrip Black Diamond member, I always opt for the most luxurious hotels and B&Bs, but I've truly never encountered a staff member as exceptional as Zada. Her attentiveness and thoughtfulness are unparalleled, and her service is simply outstanding. One day, when we were heading out to catch a taxi in scorching 39-degree weather, she insisted we wait indoors while she stood outside at the entrance, waiting for our car. No matter how much we urged her to come inside, she wouldn't. During meal times, she was consistently thoughtful, always anticipating and catering to all my needs. She truly is the best! By the time I left, I felt a genuine reluctance, almost as if I were saying goodbye to a dear friend. Absolutely fantastic!

EEkaterinaTwo of my friends and I stayed at the VOCO hotel over the Dragon boat's festival in May-June, 2025. All of us really enjoyed the stay. The rooms were comfortable, and even though they were not lake-view rooms, we could still see the lake from our windows. Two of us cannot speak Chinese, and one of the managers of the hotel, whose name is Leon, took good care of us and helping us to check in and then provided a very comprehensive tour around the hotel showing all the facilities and making bookings for all kinds of activities (kayaking, hot air baloon, photoshoot) and dinners during our stay. I'd like to express my heartfelt thank you to Leon for his very kind help and assistance! The food at the a dinner and breakfast buffets was plentiful and well cooked, as well as the traditional dishes in a Chinese restaurant. Traditionally cooked fish head is a must try! Big up to Leon for recommending it! I can also vouch for all the activities that were provided by the hotel as part of the package with our rooms which included kayaking, a photo shoot and hot air ballooning. i'd like to express my gratification to the team that's arranges and carries out all the activities related to the photoshoot. Everything was really nicely done. We were really excited about this opportunity, and loved the photographs that we received as a result of it. Finally, regarding the facilities, we really enjoyed the open terrace, especially at the sunset time, where we could see beautiful light and clouds over the lake. One of the best facilities is the gym that gives you a wonderful view, as well as the infinity pool, overlooking the lake. Overall, I think the hotel gives you the best value for money in this region, and is a brilliant combination of the great service, very good facilities and additional activities, provided as part of their package. I can highly recommend it!
