"Art Hotel Kagoshima offers a very positive stay overall, largely thanks to its outstanding staff, who consistently went out of their way to assist and make guests feel welcome. I strongly recommend requesting a room with a view of Sakurajima—one of Japan’s most active volcanoes—as waking up to this dramatic landscape is truly priceless. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby bus routes. While the rooms are comfortable, the building is clearly dated and would benefit from significant renovations to better match the quality of service."

"Wonderful stay. Super delicious and wide spread of food for breakfast. The hotel has several restaurants and cafes that you do not need to venture out to eat. The souvenir shop is located beside Osen, do not miss it. Do step out of the area outside breakfast restaurant to see the full view of sakurajima, with sunrise view, though you may want to walk to the nearby lookout at the park. But I think the view from hotel is good. The bakery sells delicious bread, soft and fresh. Shuttle bus is available at both lobby, one near main entrance and one near the Italian restaurant at level one. There is a post box at the level one entrance too, you can send postcards there!"

"I was impressed by the friendly staff, all of whom had the biggest smiles. Kagoshima Chuo Station is about a 20-minute walk away, straight along the main street in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of local Kagoshima ingredients and traditional dishes, as well as a wide selection of sweets, making it a delightful experience from the start of the day."

"The room is a tatami room. Those who have not experienced it can try it. However, the room I stayed in had a strong smell. The room was big enough, but the worst thing was that the toilet was too smelly. It should be the smell from the sink outside."

The unit bus in the room is very beautiful at first glance, but the boundary of the bus wall? Is it just a rust or mold in the part where the water hits, or a gap ... It looked like a black dirt and I was a little worried. And the door guard of the front door was broken and the lock could not be locked from the inside. The most disappointing thing was the large communal bath. The first word in the dressing room was ”Eh? Big? Bathhouse? ? ? ? ? It was narrow enough to become ”(^^;) There were more than 10 baskets on the shelf of 3 rows x 5 〜 6 steps. In addition, there is a washbasin that feels like a feeling and a shoe shelf that is about 1 meter wide, but when more than 3 adults start changing clothes, it is inevitable that they will be narrow and sweaty. Perhaps there are no six tatami mats in the dressing room. The bathhouse is also very narrow because there are 5 showers and ㄱ, and the hot water next to it is messed up. And what was impossible was the bottle of rinse-in shampoo and body soap provided (; ω;) I didn't want to touch it because of the black mold growing, so I wanted to soak in hot water slowly, but various parts I was worried about it and went up in about 3 minutes... And two adults came in during the change of clothes, so the dressing room became tight and sweated, and I sweated even more, and I returned to the room. It's hot in the summer bath (; ω;) The service and location are uncomplained stars 5 (rather enough stars), but we will evaluate the cleanliness facilities and amenities here ... Is it more suitable for staying alone than using it on a family trip? I thought!"

"The hotel offers a shuttle service, which makes getting around very convenient. Right outside the hotel, there's a tram stop that takes you to the pier, where you can catch a boat to Sakurajima for sightseeing. The hotel's breakfast is quite substantial, with plenty of fruit, and the golden kiwi was especially sweet. All the staff were attentive and thoughtful. The hotel also has a free gym, and right next door is a hot spring ♨️ where you can enjoy a full soak or a foot bath; the spa services, however, are paid. Overall, everything was excellent. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit. I hope for friendship between China and Japan and world peace 🤝🏻"
