Find 2-Star Hotels in Kagoshima

"This was my first time staying at this hotel, visiting my aunt. It's been years since I've stayed in Kagoshima (everything about the scenery has changed so much since I was a child...)←It's changed so much in just a few years... I remember this hotel used to be Tokyu Inn... (this was decades ago though...) So...it's a long-established hotel, so some people might be concerned about the small details??? (soundproofing←you can hear people's voices in the hallway a lot, and the usual door opening and closing sounds with the neighbors, and vibrations from above...)←I was alone, so I understand that it was easier to hear sounds... It seems to be well-cleaned, but...the only thing that bothers me is...the black dots in the joints around the bathtub are a bit bothersome ^^; The scenery can be said for Kagoshima city in general, but... It has become so modernized that you can no longer see Sakurajima in its entirety from anywhere like before...it's a little sad...I feel nostalgic thinking that Sakurajima must have been visible diagonally from the window of my room in the past... Unfortunately, the view from the window is similar to that of a business hotel in the city, so I gave it a bad review (-_-;) The staff at the front desk were very friendly and answered my questions kindly, and I felt a warmth from them that is a little different from the business-like attitude of city hotels (^o^) ← Most people in Kagoshima are kind, so if you get lost when sightseeing or where to find a bus stop, please ask the locals around you (not 100% guaranteed though ^^;) I think you'll be happy with the kindness of others (^o^) ※ The photo I posted (a photo of Aeon, almost directly in front of Kagoshima Chuo Station) Do not cross over to the Aeon side, turn your back to Kagoshima Chuo Station and walk along the road on your left for less than 5 minutes ~ There is a tram stop right in front of the hotel (^o^) ※ Within Kagoshima city, you can take a tram or a bus (there are two other bus companies operating buses in addition to the city bus, so even if you are going to the same place, the stop may be the same depending on the bus company. (←We recommend that you check the number before boarding) ※If you are staying for a few days, we recommend purchasing an IC card (regular IC cards cannot be used) Their own IC cards are sold at the bus terminals in Tenmonkan and Kagoshima Chuo Station, so I think it will be easier to get on and off if you charge it and use it~^^; Anyway, Kagoshima city used to be centered on trams... but now it's almost only the line that runs right next to it... buses are the main means of transportation (it's like Kyoto ←Kagoshima doesn't have a subway...JR is the only train other than the tram^^;)"

"I loved staying here!! It had such a great communal vibe to it. One of my favorite memories from traveling Japan is sitting at the low tables in the common area, eating a convenience store dinner and watching baseball on the tv. I was only there 3 nights but it felt like it would’ve been an easy place to settle into for a longer stay. There was a fridge and kitchen, two showers & toilets, laundry, luggage storage, lockers, etc. Very close to the train station. Rooms were clean, I felt like the staff did a great job on the upkeep. I would definitely recommend you stay here. The only thing to be aware of is that the mattresses are really thin so the sleeping surface feels really hard."

"This hostel is truly a rare treasure I found in Kagoshima. Maybe because of the off-season, there weren't many people, but I was pleasantly surprised. There are restaurants and bars on the first floor, and there are often parties held by locals; there is a public bath on the third floor, which provides single and mixed bathing, and even a play room for chatting and watching movies. The location is great. You can walk a few hundred meters to the planetarium and the pier, and it's also very close to the Seongsan Observation Deck. Although the room is a youth hostel, it is really clean. I stayed there for several days in a row. Although no one came to clean it, it still felt comfortable at all. The friendliness of the Japanese also left a great impression on me in Kyushu!"

"What a surprisingly wonderful old ryokan! Operating for a century, its interior boasts a rich Showa-era charm. It definitely feels historic but is spotlessly clean. The true highlight was breakfast, which unexpectedly featured pork shabu-shabu. The broth was made with genuine, high-quality ingredients, and the yuzu kosho was locally sourced. Paired with the black pork, it was absolutely delicious! 😋"

"I stayed for 3 nights with 4 family members, but I was very satisfied. It's better to be wider than anything else. I think I will repeat it again. There was a day when the amount of water in the shower was too weak ＆ There was only a little hot water, but it seems that the water pipe of the building is being constructed, so it is grateful to be solved."

"The reason for staying here is that it is within walking distance of the Kawasho Hall, you can stay in a twin room, it has breakfast, it is in a cheap and quiet location, you can eat after the concert, and you can take a leisurely stroll. It meets all of these criteria. You can't expect a great view from the window, but there is a spot where you can walk to and see the ocean and Sakurajima up close, so it is very satisfying. The inn has a certain oldness to it, but the staff are very friendly, and I would like to use it for concerts."
