Hotels in International Grand Bazaar, Urumqi

We checked in at around 1 a.m. The staff helped heat up the food we brought and delivered it to the room with a robot. There was some smell of decoration. There were steps at the door. Although there was a ramp to push the suitcase, it was too steep. The double bed room on the 2nd floor was opposite the building, very close, and there was no view to speak of. The desk lamp was broken. The restaurant, laundry room, and gym were all on the 6th floor. The front desk did not inform us when we checked in, so we had to read the room description ourselves. There were 4 washing machines and 4 dryers available 24 hours a day. The room heating was not very good. Construction started downstairs before 10 a.m. It seemed like the facade was clanging and the sound was right above our heads. There was a card in the room explaining the noise caused by the construction, but it didn't help. Unless you get up early and go out shopping, the breakfast variety is relatively rich, so you feel you can go out for breakfast without ordering it. Downstairs is a Limin Market, which is close to the Grand Bazaar and Jinquan Mall for eating and drinking. We checked out at 14:00 and received a hand cream and a hand towel as souvenirs. It took more than half an hour to get a taxi to the airport. In short, the location is very convenient, the environment is very noisy, and the cost performance is not high.

I had high hopes for this established four-star hotel and specifically booked a room with a view of the snow-capped mountains. When I placed the order, I asked the hotel's customer service if my room type would have that view, and they confirmed it. However, when I arrived around 11 PM, I was upgraded to a different room, and then told that at this time of year, the snow peaks aren't visible. So why did the customer service representative recommend a room with a snow peak view when I booked? If I had known I couldn't see them, I would have just booked a standard room. Secondly, although it was an upgraded suite, it was extremely hot. The only window that could be opened was broken, making the room stiflingly hot in late August! I called the front desk to inquire, and they said that's how the central air conditioning works – it only has low, medium, and high fan speeds, with no temperature control. The high fan speed was noisy and didn't cool the room at all, leaving it muggy and unbearable. As a result, I quickly booked a room at another new hotel for the next day and checked out early. Since you can't see the snow peaks from the room in August, I urge the hotel not to advertise rooms with a snow peak view.

Great area if you like to meet the locals and explore the huge night market. I felt safe and it was warm and quiet. Plenty of hot water which was a bonus. The women at the front desk were very helpful despite the language barrier. Well stocked shampoo, conditioner, body cream in large bottles and also detergent for hand washing. Underfloor heating as its cold at night. No fridge and no cutlery would be my only comment!

The Jianzhi Hotel (Urumqi People's Square) offers a fantastic stay, especially if you're a couple. Its prime location by People's Square makes exploring Urumqi a breeze. Our fancy room was both stylish and comfortable, with a stand-out excellent bathtub – perfect for unwinding. The overall ambiance is ideal for a romantic getaway. The only real drawback was the breakfast. While tasty, it lacked variety, particularly for international guests. More global options would greatly improve the morning experience. Despite the breakfast, the Jianzhi Hotel's location, stylish rooms, and superb bathtub make it a strong recommendation for a comfortable and elegant stay in Urumqi.

The room's ethnic style perfectly matched our expectations and imagination for our first trip to Xinjiang. We were extremely satisfied. The receptionist was also very friendly and spoke fluent Mandarin. The hotel's location is superb, right across from the International Grand Bazaar pedestrian street and next to the Grand Bazaar food street, saving us the hassle of taking a taxi. We can enjoy some of Urumqi's most must-see spots right outside our door! (Areas for improvement: adding a shower screen or curtain would be safer, or adding a non-slip mat to the shower area. The hairdryer needs replacing!) These minor flaws don't detract from the overall experience. If I have the chance to come to Urumqi again, I will definitely stay here again.

The room is clean and hygienic. The service is warm. The facilities are complete. It is very safe. Recommended to stay. The service of Mana is very good.

The hotel service is very good, very enthusiastic, the service attitude is great, and there is hot tea at the front desk, which is very warm. Recommended for the location in the middle of the bazaar and beside a metro stop, but the room is very small and the hot water can be unreliable. Be aware that you need to pass security to enter the bazaar, and by extension also the hotel. Would recommend it to independent travellers that plan to spend most of their time out and about.

The environment is relatively good, not as bad as other bad reviews said, and the bathtub water is also very hot. The main reason is that the sound insulation is a bit poor. You can hear someone talking clearly. Everything else is fine. The front desk service is also very good. You can also store your luggage after checking out. It is a relatively good experience.

One can tell that this was a tip top hotel by its nice thick towels with logo, bed sheets etc. it is now getting outdated but it's kept clean and service is good. Quite professional staff and the breakfast is good.
