SkyBay Hotel was great! It's changed it a lot over the past couple years. They have automated check-in now and the selection of cafes and shops in the lobby are very convenient and and open till late. The arcade is tons of fun! Visitors have the option of using the Infiniti pool and sauna for an additional fee.
The staff is helpful, and the room is clean and comfortable. However, in winter you are unable to adjust the temperature of your room. The views are incredible from skyBay Hotel. No wonder they pick this location for the drama business proposal!
We had a great time!
My sister and I took our first trip together without our husbands and it was absolutely wonderful! I loved everything about this place – the luxurious accommodation, the amazing view, and the delicious breakfast. I definitely want to come back again!!!
Hotel Sokcho is located a 5-minute walk away from the Express Bus Terminal. This is very convenient for catching early buses back to Seoul. There’s a large supermarket nearby as well as convenience stores and eateries. Sokcho Beach is also about a 10-minute walk down the road.
The rooms are bright and spacious, with amazing views of the sea. But what we really appreciated was the remarkable standard of service offered. Late one night, our toilet got choked and the flush stopped working. We called the front desk and within a mere 10 minutes, a smartly clad staff appeared at our door, very politely fixed the uncomfortable issue and very politely left, all in a matter of a few minutes. Minimum fuss, maximum efficiency. We were impressed.
It was a last minute reservation we have made to enjoy our national holiday and it surely was a great decision!
The location of this resort is in prime spot right next to the Dae-po dock where for the seafood lovers you are in for a delight of fresh and cost efficient sashimi and steamed crabs.
Not only that, the resort itself was very resourceful for the families who bring their youngs
- massive indoor playground
- arcade for the little gamers
- quiet family friendly walk way into the shorelines
- indoor water park
(Stopping here because my fingers hurt trying to write everything down!)
Lastly, the rooms were cleaned at exceptional quality with the ocean view.
Definitely coming back here next year!
The Sun Cruise Hotel is my top choice. This is my second time visiting and staying here. The hotel has a great beach view, and you can watch both sunset and sunrise. Location-wise, it's excellent – just 10 minutes from Jeongdongjin Station. It's a great place to relax and escape the hustle of Seoul city life 👍.
However, the service at the front desk was a bit disappointing. I understand there may be language barriers, and I used Papago translation to communicate in Korean, but they still seemed unw welcoming to us as foreigners. They simply answered ”no” to my question without offering alternative suggestions. As front desk staff, they should provide other options or suggestions to hotel guests instead of just saying ”no” and ending the conversation.
Nice hotel well situated by the night market, Abai Village and Rodeo Drive. Easy to walk around and explore. The rooms was well kept with no issues. Only downside was lack of parking. They will try to accommodate you so you won't be stuck, but was inconvenient.
The room's cleanliness was generally good, but the hotel's location is quite far from the city center, which is really inconvenient without a car. It was hard to get an Uber, but thankfully the front desk staff were great; they helped me call taxis a few times and were very patient, which I appreciate! The hotel is part of a resort. I had fried chicken downstairs, but for other meals, I took a taxi to the city, which cost nearly 100 RMB per trip. If you're staying at the hotel, you get a 10% discount at Ocean Play; remember to mention your room number when buying tickets at the front desk. It's divided into a sauna and a swimming pool. I mistakenly went to the outdoor area of the sauna, thinking it was the famous Instagrammable pool, but there are still outdoor hot tubs there.
I frequently travel to Gangwon-do and have had the opportunity to stay at numerous accommodations there. Daepho Port is a bit removed from Sokcho city center, so I usually overlooked it, but I finally decided to try it out for the first time this August.
The rooms are well-maintained. A significant plus is the abundance of restaurants within walking distance, which made exploring the area quite enjoyable. Typically, hotels in such regions are isolated, limiting guests to on-site facilities or a convenience store unless they drive out. The Ramada, however, boasts many nearby dining options. While the price felt a bit high, as is common in tourist areas, simply walking around and exploring provided enough enjoyment that we didn't feel the need to dine out every time. The presence of Cassia Hotel next door ensures decent foot traffic, and the surroundings feel lively and well-lit, even at night.
The room itself is a standard hotel room, well-equipped with a fast charger and plenty of power outlets. Reusable indoor slippers are also provided. I enjoyed my stay so much in August that I returned again this month. Last time, I had a Daepho Port view, and this time I was allocated a partial view facing Lotte Resort. While both were decent, the Lotte Resort view felt a bit obstructed and less open due to the Cassia Hotel partially blocking the line of sight. The Daepho Port view definitely felt more expansive.
A minor inconvenience is the extremely narrow ramp leading up to the parking lot, requiring careful driving. The mini-fridge is quite small, and its cooling performance was a bit underwhelming. Additionally, the table is quite low, so you have to hunch over a bit if you're enjoying some 'chimaek' (chicken and beer) in the room.
Aside from these minor points, everything else was great, and I definitely plan to stay here again on my next visit.
Waking up to the sight of the sea was both relaxing and refreshing. The cleanliness of the room and the entire hotel was very well-maintained .
However, there are some areas that could use improvement. The amenities were quite limited. Toiletries weren’t provided, which was fine, but having them would have made the stay more convenient. Also, access to the pool, sauna, and gym required a separate payment, which was a bit disappointing given that many hotels usually include those facilities.
The breakfast was enjoyable, though it came at an additional cost. It was good, but nothing particularly special.
Overall, the best part of this hotel is the beautiful view and the friendly, helpful service from the staff. If you're looking for a clean place with a great view and don’t mind paying extra for amenities, this could be a decent choice.
Wow! It felt like time travel back to the last century in the UK, the moment you step into the hotel lobby, which is full of nostalgic British decorations. The restaurant, especially, is like a royal family gallery with photos of Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana, Prince Charles, Prince William, and other royals covering the walls.
Each floor features a unique theme dedicated to various public figures, including presidents, diplomats, sports stars, movie stars, singers, and actors. The hallways are decorated with photos and memorabilia, making every walk a discovery.
The location is very close to the entrance of Seorak Mountain National Park, within a 7-10 minute walk.
My double bedroom is lovely with a nice view of greenery. The only downside and a major issue to me is that no AC at night, which is not mentioned in the hotel’s description. The staff explained that the AC is centrally controlled and is turned off at night because they assume it’s cool enough. They can only give me a fan.
I had both dinner and buffet breakfast at the hotel, and they were all good, and all the staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were very nice and friendly as well.

Very Good
Its awesome and we didnt know it has hot spring sauna. We wont miss it next trip.
The hotel was superb, right on the beach and had spectacular views. The rooms were excellent with great facilities. The iPad in the room giving you up to date information was very useful. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of restaurant choices in the hotel. The evening buffet on the top floor was expensive so we didn’t eat there. 108,000 won per person. There were cheaper alternatives in the lobby. Unfortunately, you had to pay extra to use the infinity pool and gym so we didn’t do this. 35,000 won to use a pool seemed unfair and should be built into the price of the room. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there.
A friendly and helpful welcome to this charming guesthouse. Rooms are warm, homely and beautifully decorated. It's lovely and quiet and a short walk from the town and bus stop. We really enjoyed our two nights stay at good value. Recommended.
It was a very nice experience - of course the hotel is more expensive due to its unique ”design”, but for us it was worth it (we only stayed one night). The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and clean and parking was included. Only thing is, that there is a little walk from the parking lot to the reception, but there are carts that can be borrowed. Also the surrounding area is nice and has some viewing spots worth exploring. We had nothing to complain.
Service was top notch. Staff went the extra mile to help me order food through her delivery app and delivered a dryer rack when requested. Location was pretty good with a bus stop just 3 minutes away. It takes about 20 minutes to go to Seoraksan. The cons is that there's not much food selection within walking distance although there is a 7-11 just downstairs and a CU opposite. Overall the room was quite clean apart from some stains on the sofa. They do clean the room everyday but dont change the bedsheets. As for amenities, bedroom slippers are provided. Laundry detergent is 1000won which has to be purchased at the front desk. Loved the room view on a clear day with Seoraksan right in front of me. People complained about the lifts but I honestly didnt wait long throughout my 3 days stay. My longest wait for the lift was probably 3 minutes. Would come back again.
Great service where you can check in and check out without meeting people. there is kiosk at the lobby and it has korean english and chinese too. beach is really close, and other shops like cafes (literal cafe. not like 백다방 or 메가커피only. well they do have those two shops too), convenience stores, and photobooth (포토이즘, 인생네컷). our 3 days and 2 nights were comfortable and nice. room is smaller than expected but was fine for 3 women. got TV, microwave and water boiler too. room cleaner change the towel and give water which not usual in 가성비 호텔 in korea cz they(from my experience going to 6 hotels in korea) just dont give unless you ask. service point there. overall was nice!
Best Western Sokcho was located in the perfect spot for Seoraksan Treks and also to the city centre where the Central market was. The Express Bus Terminal (not intercity bus terminal, do check with your driver) only 5mins away to Seoul, bus stop to 7 or 7-1 is 3mins away. eMart was 5mins away and Daiso was 10mins walk from the hotel. Amazing offer from Trip.com if booking made in advance. We were travelling in a group of 4 and booked two Ocean view deluxe twin rooms. Beds were Ace bed, slept very comfortably for the 3 nights stay. There is a coin self laundry service at basement. Ocean view was blocked halfly but good enough to see sun rise from the beach which is only 10mins walk away. There are many good eateries around the hotel as well as near the beach, the lake and at the Central Market. One incident made the stay unpleasant though, we bought the famous Manseok chicken from the Central Market for a beer and chicken night after climbing the peak of Seoraksan Daecheongbong for 12 hours, the cleaning staff threw away our food (a box with full chicken inside) without asking. The reception staff reaction was disappointing as they didn't seem care. In the end, they offered to re-order a random chicken for us but we refused to take it as the mood was totally ruined. I have to say there was not much service per se at Best Western Sokcho as it is more like a service apartment but the hotel room quality, the location and price were fantastic. I will recommend anyone who like trekking Seoraksan and exploring around Sokcho to stay there but do not expect for hotel service.
