One of the world's least famous capitals

Ankara Airport is relatively close to the city. There is a bus departure point in the city center. It departs on time and arrives in 30 to 40 minutes. There is no traffic jam and the road conditions are much better than Istanbul. The scenery along the way is nice. It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to fly from Ankara to Ercan Airport in Northern Cyprus. The local time is one hour behind Türkiye, but mobile phones and watches will not update automatically. There is a row of car rental company stalls when you land. It is recommended to rent a car when visiting Northern Cyprus. The attractions are relatively scattered, but there are also buses from the airport to various cities. On the way from the airport to the METU Expert Apartment of Middle East Technical University, I felt like I was traveling back to a third-tier city in the 1980s. The facilities of the expert apartment further confirmed the impression on the way. After five days of intense meetings, we rented a car at the airport and drove around Ankara. Generally speaking, Ankara is relatively safe. It does not have the strong commercial atmosphere and crowded crowds of Istanbul. The barbecue in the small shops scattered in the residential areas is very delicious.
