Machiya Onsen Bangkok actually has a Japanese hot spring bathhouse, so fancy!

#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025 I wanted to keep a private list of the most fancy Japanese-style hot spring bathhouses in Bangkok. Yes, there is no spa or massage, it is just a pure "senbath". Isn’t it amazing that there is such a thing in Bangkok! Machiya Osen is for men only, so it will take a long time to find it if you come here for the first time. Although it is just around the corner from the exit of Sutthisan Station on the Blue Line of the subway, the low-key white building and facade are too hidden. When you push the door open and walk in, it feels like you've walked into the pure white world of the Greek Mediterranean, but with Japanese Zen-style decorations, it's so beautiful and fashionable. After changing into slippers, walk up the corridor stairs to the reception counter on the second floor. The clerk will explain the various rules and fees to you using voice translation. After paying, you will be given a basket of large and small towels, a Japanese Yukata, and an electronic sensor watch. The electronic watch is used to open the locker. You have to be completely naked when bathing, and you can only bring a small towel; after bathing, you can change into a yukata and take a nap in the lounge. Everything is in accordance with the SOP of a Japanese public bath. Starting with the counter and changing room on the second floor, there are two floors above and below. ✓Go down to the second floor: the main hot spring area. You need to go to the wash area to wash before taking a bath. There are two pools, one hot and one warm. Although it is a basement, the two-story high skylight is very open and non-oppressive. With the lights constantly flowing and changing colors, the whole feeling is super fancy! After all, it is a sauna, so naturally it is necessary to have a steam room, oven and cold water area, and they are all separated by black mirrored glass. It is very low-key and fashionable, and like opening a blind box. It was my first time to experience a water mist steam room, it was quite interesting. ✓Go down one floor: There is a Nordic Finnish wood-fired sauna. You can sweat in the wooden cabin and immerse yourself in the light wood fragrance, which will make you fall asleep easily. There is also a black slate shower room. ✓Go up one floor: A rest space with super beautiful decoration, creating an atmosphere of light luxury, fashion and natural healing. You need to put on a yukata to enter this floor. You can bring your cell phone and lie on the sofa or massage chair. This area looks really watery no matter how you take pictures. ✓Go up to the second floor: the private room White House, which is basically a hotel room, with a bed to sleep on and a private pool. It must be very expensive to take a bath in such a high-end hot spring house, right? Ha, if it was expensive, why would I keep it in private? The original price is only 550 Thai Baht, and there is a special price of 390 Baht before 6pm and after 10pm. Isn’t it super generous! It's really worth an experience, but it's only for men, just for relaxing in the hot springs. However, there is no SPA, massage or dining service. ps. You are not allowed to take photos in the hot spring bathing area. These photos are taken from the official website fan page. #machiyaonsen ✓Business hours: 1500-0100 ✓Address: 1278, 1280 Sutthisan Winitchai Rd, Huai Khwang, Bangkok 10310 #Thailand Free Travel #Bangkok Travel #Bangkok Hot Spring #machiyaisen #bangkok #Bangkok Store Search
