Explore the imperfections of human beings through black and white light waves with the exhibition “400-700” by Aphist Sid (Aphist Sidsanthia). The artist was inspired by the limitations of human perception. The wavelength of light that the human eye can see is only 400-700 nanometers, representing the narrowness and limitation in the complex and infinite world of the universe. This exhibition questions our limitations, both in terms of perception and identity, amidst the vastness of the universe filled with things we cannot fathom. The artist creates monochrome paintings to reduce colors and draw the eye to observe other elements in the work intensely. The shapes that look like holes in the artwork not only represent empty space, but also invite us to think of the dimensions that are created anew under the limitations of painting.
